I had bloodwork done today (cd4 - but it shiould have been cd3) I had my FSH and estradiol tested, they said that the results were "great" . I'm 44 and have had very sporadic periods for a couple of years. My last period was last July. I had a blood test a couple of weeks ago and my doctor has confirmed perimenopause. My fsh was 58 and my estradiol was 223. He said that explained why I had had any "normal" menopause symptoms and said it means I don't need to consider hrt yet. Hi, everybody. I've been experiencing hot flashes, hair loss, irregular periods, and dry eyes for several months. I had my hormone and thyroid levels tested twice, and, while everything technically came back normal, my estradiol (52 pg/ml) level concerns me. I've read that anything below the 50 pg/ml mark is not a good sign. Is this true? Does this number suggest that I'm in the early stages of premature ovarian failure, or are there other causes of low estradiol?

Well to give a little history for the very first time since starting my cycle I went 80 days without a cycle then on the 80th day I finally ovulated and had a period march 9th I started taking provera up until march 25 when I had surgery after survey I had what I thought was a perion on March 28. Hi kp, I too have been diagnosed with a diminished ovarian reserve. Although I'm only 30, my numbers are far worse than yours:) I do feel that your FSH and E2 levels are very normal and you have an excellent chance of success with IVF.

All serum levels in my basic chemistry panel, CBC plus differential, thyroid panel, and urine analysis were normal except my estradiol. It was 84 with a lab range with an upper limit of 54. My testosterone was normal at 630 and my DHEA was normal at 265. I am thin and I have no masses on the testicles that can be felt. But, i am nervous about the elevated estradiol. My doctor seems not alarmed and will be repeating the test.
