Common Questions and Answers about Estradiol levels fertility

Avatar n tn Hi my estrogen was low on 2nd day in this cycle (my lab results said lesser than 37) but my RE said that he wants low estrogen on 2nd day and that it will normally increase in the process. Apparently bad news is if you have high estrogen on day 2. I am in natural cycle IVF and my follicle has developed well and my uterus lining is good. I am having aspiration tomorrow - so it did not look like there was a problem even though estrogen was low on 2nd day. I hope all works well for you. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I bought a Fertility monitor and am getting a couple of peak days and a couple of high fertility days too. My first menstrual cycle was at 12 and they have been very regular(28 days like clockwork) until recently. They are ranging between every 25 to 31 days(but I still get them and the traditional PMS symptoms. Out of concern for my age/fertility and the fact that I have not got PG and that my periods are a little wacky, I went to my gyn and she did the day 3 bloodwork.
Avatar f tn We did IUI last month but it was unsucessful. All levels are normal except estradiol which was above 80. Up untill two months ago she had LH surge every cycle. Now all of the sudden nothing. Last month no surge on opk but on ultrasound she had a good follicle so we did the IUI. Has anyone had success with preg when estradiol is high? If so we would love some advice.
Avatar f tn I have many factors working against me in the fertility department; I am 40 years old, I just received a repeat FSH and it is 24.4 my estradiol level is 27.7. A year ago my FSH was only 9.9 but my estradiol was 80...what could cause such a reversal of results and what does the estradiol level mean in relation to the FSH level?
Avatar f tn FSH: 4.5 and Estradiol 59. The levels yesterday 3/29/10 (day 10) were: FSH: 9.7 and Estradiol 163. I am using OPK's per the direction of my fertility doctor on cycle days 12-21 (I started early and have been getting negative results - not surprising since I know that it might be too soon to ovulate). Does anyone know how to interpret these day 10 results? Thank you!
797256 tn?1237636468 Hello, I am writing because I have lots of symptoms of PCOS and 5 years ago I went through fertiltiy and found that I have PCOS, but now 5 years later I had my hormone levels taken just by family doctor and they say they are normal but what is normal. Can anyone help me? I don't have periods, I grow hair in places you don't want and more here are the lab results from lab. Estradiol (estrogen) 26 pg/mL FSH 5.0 mIU/mL LH 12.2 mIU/mL These are the ones they have done. What does this mean?
216278 tn?1308861082 Oh and when it comes to estradiol it's actually good that it is low on day 3. This is what fertility plus says: "Levels on the lower end tend to be better for stimulating. Abnormally high levels on day 3 may indicate existence of a functional cyst or diminished ovarian reserve.
398459 tn?1262186144 TSH 1.88, FSH 7.1, prolactin 24.4, and estradiol 46.4. My MD said after the first test that the results indicated decreased ovarian reserve due to the FSH level. After the second test, he said only that even though my FSH level was normal, it "still doesn't bode well for pregnancy". That is all that I was told. Any thoughts? How "abnormal" (or normal) are my results? Will IVF be an option for me? Thanks for the help...
Avatar f tn Might I suggest posting this again on the Fertility Forum? THere are a whole lot of IVF experts there. Also, give your Dr. a call. Any possible side effects should be reported. Best of luck, and I hope your IVF is successful!
621803 tn?1302888341 Hi ladies, I had my first IUI cycle in August, and my Re prescribed estradiol because my levels were low and my lining wasn't thickening. Well, the IUI worked (yay!) and the nurse I talked to said that I was supposed to stay on the estradiol and prometrium until I was 8 weeks. I mentioned that estradiol says it can cause birth defects and to not take it if you become pregnant. She said I was ok because my levels were low to begin with.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry; you're right that I meant LH level, not FSH level. Clearly I am not a doctor! I appreciate your help and am wondering if this changes your answer? Also, do you think that the 500mg B6 supplement I've been taking could cause my LH and Estradiol levels to be low? Thanks so much!
Avatar n tn I am a 25 year old female, I had a saliva hormone kit evaluated with testosterone, DHEA, estradiol, and progesterone, also progesterone/estradiol ratio done. The results came back as this, Estradiol- normal Progesterone- Low; 47.2 (range of 127-446) Ratio of Progesterone to estradiol - 33.0 Low; (range of 200-600) Testosterone- 83.5 High; (range of 6.0-49) DHEA- 366.7 High- (range of 106-300) I can tell that i have way higher 'male hormones' than the women's hormones but, why?
1235159 tn?1323009319 I got my FSH and estradiol (E2) levels taken on day 2 of my period. The combined results of these two tests can indicate the ovarian reserve left in a woman. I also get my progesterone done on day 21 (this should show if ovulation has occured and if progesterone is good enough to sustain a pregnancy). I have also had my AMH done. I'm pretty sure this can be done anytime, but you may need to check on the net to make sure. GOOD LUCK!!!
505857 tn?1329681517 While I was going through my monitoring, (LOTS of blood work by the way) they found out that my estradiol levels were too low, which meant I had a very thin lining, so they put me on estradiol supplements. I think it all depends on the doctor, but mine at least put me on fertility meds even though they didnt' think the problem was with me.
Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
1418198 tn?1483277496 I hope I font sound foolish, but what is ESTRADIOL and what does it mean if your levels are low/high???
Avatar n tn have you been taking fertility meds? they can falsely elevate fsh levels. if so, ask him about re-testing.
216278 tn?1308861082 I am almost 37 years old and doing a hormonal profile this month (b/w every other day, basically!!) I had Estradiol draws pre-o, and now Estradiol and Progesterone draws post-o! On Peak +3, my Estradiol was 70 (went from 104 to 323 to 70) and my progesterone was 5.8. It is only 3DPO, but I am trying to get an idea of whether it's a 'good' number or not - Any help will be appreciated!!!!
Avatar f tn Had one miscarriage last year. Decided to go to a fertility doctor this year (I know, kind of late!). Just finished first round of testing, tubes open, sperm count good, not too many follies though. Dr. recommends a few IUI's then an IVF we are starting after my next period. I know the odds are not in my favor but I have loved reading this board and hearing that there is hope! I had a question on EST levels. My FSH level was 6 an my EST level was 36.
Avatar f tn m not really familiar with what is normal when going through premature ovarian failure; but in general, normal levels are between 3 and 20, with 20 being very hard to stimulate. If I were you, I would ask your doctor for a referral to an RE (reproductive endocrinologist...or fertility specialist). They're experts in the field and should be able to run a few more test to see what's going on.
1222208 tn?1307696161 Hi, my numbers were FSH 7.84 and Estradiol 53.9 in Aug 2009 when first tested. They were FSH 9.7, Estradiol 33, and LH 6.4 when I got tested in Jan of this year. Got pregnant on 2nd month of trying. Found some other results: TSH 1.09, FT4 1.26, and Prolactin 5.63. I'm 42 1/2 now. Good luck to everyone! SSBD!
1272624 tn?1395434357 Estradiol (E2) Day 3 ( 25-80 pg/ml) Levels on the lower end tend to be better for stimulating. Abnormally high levels on day 3 may indicate existence of a functional cyst or diminished ovarian reserve. Progesterone (P4) Day 3 (< 1.5 ng/ml). Often called the follicular phase level. An elevated level may indicate a lower pregnancy rate. Here is a link to an interesting paper I found as well: http://www.medical.siemens.
Avatar f tn Hi, My FSH was about the same as yours (I'm 39) 5.6 MY LH was 4.9 MY Estradiol was 156 (which I thought was really bad and it meant I had no good eggs....) But It only took me 2-3 months to get pregnant so I guess my estradiol number didn't mean I had no eggs. Successful month I did lh surge strips, bd'd when it said to and used pre-seed as I thought my mucus wasn't mucousy enough to help the sperm travel.
