Common Questions and Answers about Estradiol in vitro

Avatar f tn If you've just had a hysterectomy, IVF won't apply in your situation. It's in-vitro fertilization. The only reason I mentioned it is because that was the only time I was on estradiol. Except for the cancer risks with taking hormones, which makes it not recommended to take them without doctor's orders or for a long period of time, if someone's own estrogen is dropping, it is probable that their body will generally appreciate estrogen for at least a while.
Avatar f tn In vivo = as it occurs in life. In vitro = as it occurs in glass; e.g. test tube/controlled environment?
362971 tn?1201987034 if there were perfection in the petre dish or tube, there's would be no need of animal or human trials. funny I just had this discussion on why you could not access the carcinogenic potential of Human Growth Hormone based on how it grows cancer cells in a lab, minus the great equalizer of the human immune system, which shuts of aberant growths. Obviously is you put a growth chemical in a model with no restraints, you will get an optimal growth outcome not possible in the real world.
Avatar n tn THEY WENT TO SEE A SPECIALIST AND THE DOCTOR TOLD THEM THAT THE ONLY WAY THEY COULD CONCEIVE IS THROUGH IN VITRO. THE PROBLEM IS MY UNCLE, HE DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY SPERM. WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP? IN VITRO COST A LOT. OUR CHURCH IS WILLING TO MAKE PAYMENTS IF POSSIBLE FOR THEM TO HAVE A BABY. IS THERE ANY ONE OUT THERE THAT CAN ANSWER THIS QUESTION. WE NEED ANSWERS, WE NEED YOUR HELP. THEY'RE HAPPINESS IS OUR HAPPINESS.
Avatar n tn In vitro studies concluded that females with current or past breast cancer should be aware of the risks of potential tumor growth when taking soy products, as they can stimulate the growth of estrogen receptor-positive cells in vitro. The potential for tumor growth was found related only with small concentration of genistein and protective effects were found with larger concentrations of the same phytoestrogen.
Avatar m tn I went for my sono today. I am on day six of stimulation. 5 follicles in the right ovary and none in the left. Three of the ones on the right measured about 10.5 and then 2 were smaller. The nurse said that maybe the left ovary will start producing and play catch up. I have been worried every since I left the visit. Does anyone know if the follicles are measuring ok and if I am where I should be at this point of my ivf cycle?
1373655 tn?1278605790 My husband and I are going through the In Vitro process. We have tried for 5 years before we went to this route. We did our egg retreival, had 14/21 fertilized. Tueday June 29th they did our embryo transfer. Yeterday they ran an HGC early just to see what my levels were. I was a 38 out of a 200. I guess at 200 your pregnant? Im just curious of the next steps in the process , Please comment!
Avatar n tn I spoke to my doctor yesterday and he indicated the "L" in 10L estradiol meant my level was "L"ow not liters. If I could ask a follow up question, since my initial question was answered by my doctor. If I get the testosterone shots, how likely is it that I will have a large portion of it converted to estrogen given the fact that my current level is low. Should I consider taking a aromatase inhibitor as a preventative measure for testosterone shots.
Avatar f tn I am 53 and have been in menopause for over a year. No oeriod in 10 months. I have recently gained about 8 pounds in the last two months, change in bowel habits, sore breasts. Just been feeling that my period is coming but it doesn't. Called my doctor to check my hormone levels. My estradiol went from less then 15 to 454. Not on any hormone therapy except for OTC Estroven. Hot flashes have stopped maybe because my estrogen has gone nuclear.
1493378 tn?1288707991 so, there's a tendency that my doctor will cancel this cycle? i'm so worried...tomorrow will be my follow-up check-up with my doctor, but i'm really so confused w/ this result. On my previous ivf treatment, ,my estradiol level was 21 pg/ml, and this cycle it's >20 pg/ml...what was your estradiol level when they cancelled your cycle?
Avatar m tn There are some hereditary conditions in which males have elevated estradiol levels. Also some endocrine syndromes. MOST of the time, the excess estrogen is produced in excess adipose tissue. Usually estrogen is converted into testosterone, but in some cases, this fails to happen. This is the type of case in which something like Aromasin might help.
Avatar n tn Truth of the matter is I have never checked an estradiol level in an asymptomatic male (what is the point?) so am just doing my best to give you a logical answer. Good luck!
609372 tn?1220554881 s sperm in addition to you taking Clomid with ultrasound monitoring for a total of 3 times before moving on the injectable forms of ovulation inducing drugs or moving on to in vitro fertilization IVF.
Avatar f tn Can you check these levels yourself or is this something you have to go in and have a doctor do? Only curious because I've been considering going in to seek professional advice too. I'm 29, TTC for 6 months and no signs of ovulation or baby at all. Never been on BC, had a miscarriage or an abortion. I'm curious what my estradiol and FsH levels are. Best wishes to you, sprinkling baby dust your way!
Avatar n tn Has anyone experienced like me a pregnancy with an Ovarian hyperstimulation after in vitro fertilization ? Thanks a lot for your answer.
374593 tn?1257879950 I always thought that the estradiol was to make sure your lining was thick enough for implantation. Because I now the drugs like clomid can thin your lining making it impossible for the egg to implant. I could be wrong though.
Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone! I had endometriosis, chocolate cysts and tumor on my right ovary, also blood thickening, and my right ovary was removed during laparoscopy almost 8 years ago. I have problems with my left ovary too, endometriosis and cysts. I've done a lot of treatments (herbal, Yasmin pills, Zoladex shots etc.) and a punctuation. My husband and I decided to start TTC 1 year and a half ago but that didn't gave any positive results, so now we decided to make the in vitro procedure.
Avatar n tn I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
Avatar m tn So it looked very interesting. But in an in vitro study you have a constant exposure to the drug, which is impossible to achieve in vivo. And the cells used are not the same as regular hepatocytes in human liver, with many differences in gene expression and cellular physiology.
Avatar f tn In this forum, I know once blood in vitro, HIV immediately is inactive, but if there are a lot of blood which are just in vitro, will the HIV virus which is inside the blood immediately not have contagious?
7649183 tn?1393014236 I have been prescribed Oestrodose 0.06% with 0.75mg estradiol per day. But how much is this effectively in nominal delivery per day? Like you, I want to use the lowest dose possible.
