Estradiol, estrone, and estriol are forms of estrogen with estradiol and estrone being the primary (and maybe only) systemic forms of estrogen. My lab's ranges show a max non-pregnancy and non-menopausal value of estradiol to be 498 pg/mL and estrone 268 pg/mL. Estradiol can exceed 4300 in the first trimester of pregnancy. And post-menopausal levels are less than 54 and less than 65, respectively.
That's interesting. I wouldn't think that estrogen (estriol or estradiol) cream would cause most of those symptoms. However, it could affect your menstrual cycle.
the cream is fine, but if you are working with someone who likes to mix estradiol with estriol, that should be a big discussion. Estradiol is now the preferred estrogen. Much of the hoopla around Estriol years ago has died down. I did not do well on it when I tried it in Bi-est (two estrogens in bio form... estradiol and estriol).
Hey, I'm a 60 year old women who is on Armour thyroid, and I am menopasal, I had a estradiol test, I believe it was 30 but should be 90 if I'm remembering right. Should I have a Progesterin test also? I read that Estriol is a good estrogene suppliment to use, I guess its used vaginally is that right? and it says I should use Progesterone along with it, do they have a progesteron that can be used vaginally? or is the cream good?
Why don't oncologists periodically check the hormone levels of estriol, estradiol, estrone and progerterone for those of us on these drugs? Why is it that we all get the same dosage for years and the only thing checked for is CA 27-29? Wouldn't it make more sense to check the hormone levels and adjust the dosage or frequency of taking these drugs accordingly? Maybe if this were done fewer women would have to put up with so many side effects.
The ultrasound was normal and the AFP and hCG levels are fine. However, the estriol is substantially low. The genetics doctor that gave the results simply said that at 37 years old this result means that my wife has a risk of 1 in 93 of having a baby with Down Syndrome. She recommended doing amniocentesis, which we are not really wanting to do.
The internet can be a dangerous thing though, as I have now been trying to understand this better and what I am reading is really scaring me.

I have ovaries but uterus and fibroids removed. Suffering hot flashes, memory loss, and most annoyingly: insomnia in middle of night. Also belly fat, occasional vaginal dryness. Confused whether I need estriol bio identical from Naturopath or estrogel from GP? Each poo poo's the other. Also dont know how to determine if I need progesterin (despite Uterus removed) or testosterone.
Who in Toronto tests these levels and what should I specifically ask to be tested for.
In my situation, one of my hormone doctors kept increasing the level of Progesterone and decreasing the level of Estradiol. I was a bit of a mess for quite awhile on this protcol. It wasn't until I switched to Estradiol only (various forms are available from either a compounder or from an all purpose pharmacy. I currently use the Vivelle dot) and a little bit of Testosterone. You are right about the testosterone.

Hi, In August I had a cortisone shot for ITBS tendonitis. It caused me to get a period that lasted 10 days. I had my yearly check-up at the Obgyn and they had a transabdonimal sonograph performed just to check. My results came back with endometrium measuring 1.0cm in thickness and homogeneous. I have been on homeopathic estriol vaginal creme for 5 years ( 2mm 3 x's per week). The Obgyn wants to do an endometrial biopsy to rule out hyperplasy or cancer.
How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.

To be even safer you can also take some bio-identical progesterone with the estrogen.
Seeing if this is c right for me I have been suffering fir over a year and a half now with various symptoms and no doctors can find anything wrong taking natural progesterone and estriol has helped with some symptoms but I still have depending on the day or time in the month stimach pains breast pains nausea dizziness hit flashes anxiety disorientation headaches can't drive motion sickness other times perfectly fine worse usually in the morning now getting pains also in elbows hands especia
I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
