Estradiol during pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Estradiol during pregnancy

I am pg too and taking Estradiol. I don't feel like taking it either and my dr says I have to finish the prescription. If you're going to an infertility dr, they prescribe that to you. I have asked my regular dr to see if I could stop taking it and she told me that was a question my infertility dr has to answer. She told me never stop taking a medication unless ordered by your dr. I would check with them before doing anything else.. CONGATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!
The m/c's always start the same, spotting from the beginning of the pregnancy, loss of pregnancy symptoms, and then heavy bleeding. My levels (HCG and progestrone) were always low. During this pregnancy my numbers are super high. My HCG is doubling according to the half-live times perfectly last one was 79000 and my progestrone is at 42, but I'm still spotting the same way I did with the others.
Hi there, Ovulation is the process of release of a single mature egg from the ovarian follicles. During this process estradiol and progesterone hormones are produced which make it conducive for fertilization. The chances of conceiving are highest during this time. The fertile period starts about 4-5 days before ovulation and ends about 24-48 hours after it. Do write to me again if you have more concerns. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
My doctor said that estradiol my help thicken mucus and help with pregnancy...first of all...it has killed my sex drive..I know I'm on a small dose, but i just looked up side effects and it said BIRTH DEFECTS PREGNANCY CATEGORY X. Why would he give me something like that when I'm ttc??? I've only taken three doses, but I'm stoping it. I didn't have a test come back and say that my E-2 levels were low or anything.
We did IUI last month but it was unsucessful. All levels are normal except estradiol which was above 80. Up untill two months ago she had LH surge every cycle. Now all of the sudden nothing. Last month no surge on opk but on ultrasound she had a good follicle so we did the IUI. Has anyone had success with preg when estradiol is high? If so we would love some advice.
All my children were preemie's and I never followed the normal pregnancy rules when I was pregnant in the past with the 6 of my children. I went through hell and for this reason I could not handle having any more children so fought with the dr and was forced to settle with having my tubes done.
This is the the mucus your body naturally produces during your fertile period. Starting about a week before you should ovulate, try to avoid anything that may dehydrate you such as alcohol or caffeine. Drink tonnes of water and in order to help things along, you might want to try a product called pre-seed. You can't use lubricant while trying to conceive as it can interfere with the sperm's ability to get where it needs to go.You may want to try a product called pre-seed.
I have recurrent cold symptoms during my period. I have noticed the symptoms for about a year but for the last six months they have happened every month around the third day of my period. Symptoms include aching joints, blocked nose and headaches as well as generally feeling awful. Periods are heavy and painful with clotting for about seven-nine days. Cold Symptoms usually last 5-7days.
first of all CONGRATS on the BFP : ) are you still having pain on that right side?? it could be a cyst or just your body reactin to the changes.. I hear a lot of people talk about twinges when they are pregnant.. Ectopic pregnancies woulnd't be having pain typically this early, and the fact that your Beta doubled also makes that less likely.. GOOD luck and keep us updated!
I have read that you should stop DHEA with a positive pregnancy test, but am wondering if anyone has continued on a low dose during pregnancy. Due to my very advanced maternal age, I am afraid to stop the DHEA completely since I needed the supplement to get pregnant I think I may need it to help maintain the pregnancy. Anyone know if it is safe to continue DHEA during pregnancy if the doctor monitors blood levels? My day 3 levels on 6/5/09 were good: Total Testosterone 55.
My blood test is this Friday May 22nd. I have been under the progesterone shot everyday, estradiol pills, baby aspirin, prenatal vitamin every day and I have been pretty positive and doing everything to avoid those home testings but today I feel like I really need to get one of those pregnacy tests. My transfer was 12 days ago counting today, would it be safe to go through one of those tests?
Last February, I had a chemical pregnancy. This past June, I got pregnant again, but that was the pregnancy that I lost at 7 weeks. I hope the third time's the charm!
--due to taking a LOT of supplements...and then I was pregnant. During my pregnancy with my DS child, I was constantly worried that something was wrong with the pregnancy...didn't have testing because homebirth midwife refused to help me get testing...and my instincts were right. This time I am not worried, but the Dr. did test my progesterone and it was 14.7 one week, then went to 11.2 the next so I am now on progesterone. Next week I will have an ultrasound to check for fetal heart tones.
Only one embryo was transferred and I don't think I feel any real pregnancy symptoms. Should I already be feeling any of these? The only ones I really have are sore breasts and some fatigue.
Just to add on my comment on May 23, 2008. I had my fibroid surgery 2 years ago and trying to get preg after got better from the surgery but no luck. I think HSG played a big role on positive preg test result. Just an opinion...Who knows!
I am looking for more info on pregnancy after an endometrial ablation. I had an ablation in May 2002. January 2003 I was not feeling well and went to the family doctor. She thought it may be an ectopic pregnancy since I was told I was sterile. I had an ultrasound to discover it was an interuterine pregnancy and I was about 9 weeks. I am now 17 weeks and for the past month trying to decide to terminate or continue.
Is the progesterone level indicitive of a problem of too low progesterone -- or is is just low because the pregnancy failed from the very start? Does it drop of that quickly? I know that most miscarriages at my age are due to chromosomal mistakes, but are there any other "fixable" issues that I can screen for? I recently saw a OB, and requested some screening tests; Day 3 FSH, Day 22 Progesterone, thyroid screen, blood count. Do you have any other sugggestions?
Or working after 4 or 5 months of using it? Just another side note--this would be my second pregnancy. I have a 22 month old son who was conceived naturally. We actually werent even trying when I got pregnant with him...it just happened!
New hope called. My estradiol is down to 120. She advised my follicles haven't grown during the luteal phase. I will monitor again on Oct. 13th, this should be my cycle day 3.
Well it did for me but unfortunately it ended up to be a chemical pregnancy. Lindsay, I find that my pregnancy symptoms are pretty similar to premenstrual symptoms. When I was pregnant with my son I felt the sore breasts and cramping like I was going to start my period. The only indication I had was the missisng period. With this clomid pregnancy, I had slight cramping and sore breasts as well. But I get that when I get my period.
So, it is also possible you could be receiving a positive result due to the Ovidrel shot, not due to pregnancy. Wishing you the best of luck.......I am rooting for you!!!
I just turned 51 and am three weeks late and having pregnancy symptoms (nausea, fatigue, etc). I have never been pregnant. I took a pregnancy test last week and it was negative. Does it make a difference if you take it in the evening vs. morning? I would be elated if I was pregnant and so would my husband.
Mine were found only because they were collapsing the colon and I was pretty miserable during a colonoscopy as the bands were being popped because of the scope. I chose to continue with the procedure since the doc asked if I wanted to stop, and I got some relief from my many stomach issues. I found a way to get rid of the adhesions and I describe the procedure I used in a journal article on my profile page.
Okay, so I feel like I am going to go CRAZY during this aweful 2ww. Why is it that life seems to be going by soo quick any other time, except for now of coarse?!? LOL! Maybe b/c this is my first real chance in 4 yrs to have a pos. hpt, but I feel I am definately getting antsy. I would ask if anyone has any symptoms, (I'm pushing it I know). I don't, but it would be great to have someone else to talk to.
Is this true should I had been on bed rest longer???? Was told pregnancy test will be done 14 days after transfer. I cheated did a home test 10 days after- mid morning (not 1st urine) came back negative-is this a false negative did I jump too soon could i still be pregnant 3days from now???????
), can I expect any sort of issues during pregnancy? Will there be risks to my baby's health? Is there a possibility that I will not be able to conceive (assuming everything else is in fine, working order)? 2) In that about that same vein, I am currently on birth control (Trinessa - norgestimate & ethinyl estradiol). Will my meds change the effectiveness of that birth control? Also, will it eventually adversely effect me?
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me when I should start to having pregnancy symptoms after iui. I am 6 days post iui and yesterday I started feeling naused. It woke me up during the night and I still feel the same today. I don't know if I have a bug or if is maybe a sign. I also took 10,000 units of HCG trigger shot but it has been 8 days since I had shot so I don't know if that could be it. Please HELP!!!
On days 6-8 I had some mild cramping which my RE said could be from implantation. Then on the day before my Beta test I had some nausea during the afternoon. Beta was done 11 days past ET and I got a BFP!!! Try not to worry to much, alot of people say they feel no symptoms at all and still get a BFP. Best of luck to you.
