Avatar n tn 20%). The results page says my estradiol is out of range. it says 10L with a range of 13-54 pg/mL. Does 10 Liters convert to 10,000 mL which is 185times the normal maximum range. I didn't have cortisol measured. My Dr. said Testosterone was fine. He never mentioned anything about the estradiol level. He suggested I had depression. I've had chronic anxiety but don't feel depressed. We've tried a few SNRI's. It's been 2 1/2 months since tests results.

Avatar m tn The surgery did provide pain relief from the painful periods, and constant fibroids, but 9 days after my surgery I started with a major depression that has not gone away. After having my bloodwork taken, my thyroid was hypo active and that was corrected. My estrogen was found to be at 0 which meant I was in menopause and we did not figure that out until at least 6 months after the surgery. The depression has been very bad.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have had menstrual migraines for over 30 years and as I get closer to menopause, things are getting worse. I had a hysterectomy last July and have been taking.25mg estradiol gel every night and when I first started taking it, it seemed like the headaches were not so bad. Now I am wondering if I should bump it up to .
Avatar f tn I want enough estradiol in me to make sure I can string a sentence together, avoid depression, have a sex drive, have better word retrival, have strong bones, less moodiness, have good heart function, no cramping in legs (the worst when I am low in my estradiol)... no foot problems (yes... when estradiol was too low for a few years...bad doc's advice... yuk,... I ended up having to have surgery on both feet).. no joint pain... I could go on and on and on.
Avatar m tn Estradiol is one form of estrogen and is (or at least used to be) considered HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) although some refer to it as ET (estrogen therapy). There is estrogen-only HRT and combined (estrogen plus progestin or progesterone) HRT. Women who have a uterus who take HRT must take progestin or progesterone if they take estrogen in order to protect their uterine lining from the proliferative effects of estrogen.

Avatar m tn I have horrible fatigue, muscle weakness, migraines, food intolerances/allergies, muscle cramps, poor exercise recovery, cold hands and feet, horrible anxiety and depression, constipation and/or diarrea, ridged nails, the list goes on... these are the results of my hormone salivary test Hormone Test Estradiol (saliva) 250 Ferritin: 96 range 30-300 Hematocrit: 35.2 range 41-53 One of my problems as of late has been that I can't seem tolerate any supplements anymore.
Avatar m tn otherwise they cause more harm than benefit to mental health. Depression can and should be treated with over-the-counter soluble magnesium (which blocks the NMDA receptors that create the sensation of depression) and/or bupropion (a dopamine reuptake inhibitor), whereas OCD can and should be treated with the glutamate release inhibitor riluzole. Everything that is currently treated with SRI drugs has an alternative that has superior efficacy.
Avatar n tn no depression, lots of energy & vigor, libido was up, I was outgoing and excited about life. After feeling great for 1 day, the effects disappeared and I am back to the same drained and low-energy shell of a human. (I had this same experience when I was 33 when originally diagnosed with Low-T: felt great for a day and then I felt terrible again, which is why I originally stopped treatment). So my Endo increased the dosage to 10mg, and still no change in energy or mood.
Avatar f tn It almost makes me wonder if the cells receptive for Estradiol (Vivelle) were just getting used to the type of estrogen you were introducing to your body and that eventually you would have adjusted. I say this because it typically is the Lack of Estrogen that will cause weight gain and not the abundance. On the other hand, since you are also taking progesterone, you may have been out of balance between the two hormones.
Avatar f tn Those injections put me into INSTANT menopause and I started experiencing for the first time in my life SEVERE anxiety and depression (along with hot flashes, night sweats, etc.) HRT was not effective back then because Lupron blocks estrogen receptors - although my doc put me on Premarin anyway, leading to severe morning sickness on top of it all! I was only able to tolerate 3 of the prescribed 6 injections.
Avatar n tn Your body might need a little time to adjust, since dhea is an adrenal hormone, and it interacts with other hormones. Of course, DHEA is touted to be a treatment for depression so maybe something else is being affected, such as blood sugar. You might try lowering the amount of the supplement to start with. I have no personal experience with dhea, but if you are depleted in this, don't give up on the supplement just yet.
374593 tn?1257879950 I always thought that the estradiol was to make sure your lining was thick enough for implantation. Because I now the drugs like clomid can thin your lining making it impossible for the egg to implant. I could be wrong though.
Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
Avatar m tn cold my whole life, muscle cramps, very low BP esp when young 80/40. During my last labor is dropped to 53/35, orthostatic hypotension, lifelong depression, very low libido, thin hair, extreme fatigue, inability to sleep without a pill. Saliva test done: Low free T4, lower end of normal free T3, 3rd gen TSH OK.
727136 tn?1231182664 I am 5 years post total hysterectomy - abdominal due to adhesions/cysts/endo, etc. You name it, I had it. My left ovary was enlarged to size of grapefruit, wrapped around my ureter and the artery nearby, then that was all plastered to my left pelvic side wall. I opted for total hys due to endo, etc. I have 1 happy, healthy boy - he's almost 10! Anyway, the Dr.
Avatar n tn I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
7649183 tn?1393014236 Menostar (estradiol transdermal system) 14 mcg per day - each 3.25 cm2 system contains 1 mg of estradiol. Vivelle-Dot® (estradiol transdermal system), 0.025 mg/day - each 2.5 cm² system contains 0.39 mg of estradiol USP for nominal* delivery of 0.025 mg of estradiol per day. Since the Menostar patch is applied once/weekly and contains 1 mg of estradiol, then that's around .14 mg/day (the data says .014 mg/day). The Vivelle-dot is applied twice/weekly and contains .
