Avatar f tn I'm taking estrace 4 mg daily and have also taken estradiol before, and have not had a problem with vertigo. Why do you associate it with the estradiol? I thought positional vertigo had to do with little calcifications in the inner ear breaking off wherever they are attached and floating around. Do you think this comes from estrogen use? I had heard it came from something else.
Avatar f tn Did you ever find out why you were itching? I don't itch on Estradiol tablets but I have been using an Estrogen cream in and around my vagina and it is causing burning and itching that is driving me crazy!!! My doctor tells me she has never heard of that kind of problem. I hope you have solved your problem.
Avatar f tn Ask him about using a vaginal estrogen cream instead of a pill. Or even about using the estradiol vaginally.
Avatar f tn the cream is fine, but if you are working with someone who likes to mix estradiol with estriol, that should be a big discussion. Estradiol is now the preferred estrogen. Much of the hoopla around Estriol years ago has died down. I did not do well on it when I tried it in Bi-est (two estrogens in bio form... estradiol and estriol).
Avatar f tn How do I tell what is surgical menopause and what is a reaction to the patch/ Cream bioidentical estradiol? How do I tell what a hot flash is versus when I have a 99 degree temp? I have tried every dosage down to .375 and still cant handle it..tried .1 for a week felt like I was going to have a stroke. .5 totally unbearable. What can I do??? I feel I am too young to not have replacement and yet replacement feels like its hurting my body.
Avatar f tn I started that on Friday morning.I am also on 1 mg estradiol vaginal inserts 3x a week. I am not waking up and then sweating but I wake up and get warm and clammy. Its very frustrating but noone else has had any ideas on what is the cause. My previous hormone specialist prescribed a vaginal cream of estrogen/progesterone and testosterone.
Avatar f tn That's interesting. I wouldn't think that estrogen (estriol or estradiol) cream would cause most of those symptoms. However, it could affect your menstrual cycle.
1047147 tn?1328906154 They cover 2 transvaginal exams, 1 ultrasound, estradiol 2x, Gonadotropin (fsh) and (Lh) and (HCG) 2x and also Progesterone 2x's. BUT! I have a seperate prescription coverage by Medco. I checked all of the possible fertility medications that i could be on like... Gonal-f, menopur etc... and they are all covered by my script plan. My RE has a different lab, Quest diagnostic but they told me thats the only lab they use. When I got my initial infectious bloodwork done it cost me $300.
Avatar f tn I think it was causing depressiont too. I have been on bio-identical hormones for a few years - progesterone cream and DHA cream - and have done fine. I had osteoporosis before the hormone creams but have now reversed it. (still have low bone mass though). I'm worried that the hot-flashes and osteoporosis might recur if I don't take the estrogen. . . but I don't know if I can handle the side-effects of it. Any suggestions out there?
709441 tn?1233340088 I use Vivelle Estradiol... climara is good, too. Newer research indicates that Estradiol (the kind of estrogen we had pumping through us in our 20's) is the only way to go. The book I mentioned a thousand times has been the most helpful to me. "Screaming to be Heard" by Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet is an amazing (and huge) book. Don't let it overwhelm you. You have to do the reseach on this stuff or it will get the better of you.
Avatar f tn hi I'm 60 gone thru menopause and now I'm trying to find a safe hormones to use. I was prescribed Medroxypr AC 2.5mg also Estradiol 0.5 mg are these safe I'm also on Armour thyroid does anyone know if it will conflict with it?
Avatar n tn check that out, too)... but I am wondering if a little progesterone cream balanced with estradiol is what you need. Do a check on that, too, if that would be something you are interested in. For women without ovaries, such as myself, there are some theories that suggest balancing is not the goal as was once thought...
Avatar f tn Hey, I'm a 60 year old women who is on Armour thyroid, and I am menopasal, I had a estradiol test, I believe it was 30 but should be 90 if I'm remembering right. Should I have a Progesterin test also? I read that Estriol is a good estrogene suppliment to use, I guess its used vaginally is that right? and it says I should use Progesterone along with it, do they have a progesteron that can be used vaginally? or is the cream good?
689860 tn?1238718032 Be sure your doctor monitors your levels monthly including your estradiol (estrogen) levels. When your proper testosterone levels are achieved, continue to monitor your estradiol levels monthly for up to 6 months. If they rise too high, a drug that is normally used for females with breast cancer called Arimidex will take care of the problem. It neutralizes the enzyme that causes testosterone to aromatize into estrogen.
374593 tn?1257879950 I always thought that the estradiol was to make sure your lining was thick enough for implantation. Because I now the drugs like clomid can thin your lining making it impossible for the egg to implant. I could be wrong though.
Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
Avatar n tn No your cortisol levels are low Mine was a 5 and that is low...I am starting progesterone cream and adreanl cream soon. Please because if it gets amy lower you could fall under Addisons disease. Please read real thyroid help.com or stop the tyroid madness.com Also read the merck dictionary on line under this subject. I am finding out after almost 20 years of having graves that I may have adrenal issues due to prolonged stress through out life... hope this helps.
Avatar f tn But, on occasion (like for a few months at a time) I have had very good results using Estrace cream along with the bioidentical Estradiol and Testosterone I use. Without these two supplemental hormones, I would not be able to string a sentence together... I would not be able to sleep... I would not be able to function without joint pain, etc.... I had a complete Hysterectomy 11 years ago and I totally understand the questions that are asked in these posts.
Avatar m tn I was put on Estradiol 1 mg. did well for one year. Then started getting severe hot flashes and facial hair growth, wasn't sleeping well either. So, I took it upon myself to stop the Estradiol. Oh my goodness, what a huge mistake! I lost HUGE amount of my hair, went to hospital twice because of labored breathing, nearly everywhere I touched my arms Id have bloody bruising, sleep was only dozing, that list could goes on. So then, I went to bio-identical hormones.
Avatar n tn I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
Avatar n tn Can I take a lower dose or cream that would possibly lessen these side effects? I would prefer to take only the estrogen, but my doctor is concerned that it could stimulate the regrowth of endometriosis. Thank you for your feedback.
Avatar n tn buy a new razor for one and don't shave with a dry face. Either use shaving cream or soap and water. You need to replace your razor heads every so often. Or get a electric razor. This will shave you just as good as anything else.
7649183 tn?1393014236 Menostar (estradiol transdermal system) 14 mcg per day - each 3.25 cm2 system contains 1 mg of estradiol. Vivelle-Dot® (estradiol transdermal system), 0.025 mg/day - each 2.5 cm² system contains 0.39 mg of estradiol USP for nominal* delivery of 0.025 mg of estradiol per day.
