Avatar f tn I have always had to struggle with my weight. I gain weight easily and have a difficult time losing it, even when eating properly and exercising. This of course, has become worse, the older I get. But I have never gained weight as rapidly as I have the last 2 1/2 months!

Avatar n tn I had a total hystrectomy at 30, now 43 I am going thru Menopause, I have already gained weight in my belly and hormones are crazy, now my doctor wants to put me on Estradiol, will it make me gain more weight?
Avatar f tn t absorbing it which would imply that your symptoms are from the loss of your ovaries and not the estradiol itself. I am also on estradiol tablets but I don't take mine orally. I either insert them vaginally or let them dissolve between my cheek and gum (transbuccal). And I use a higher dose of 1mg. My Rx is for 2mg but since I don't take them orally / swallow (no first pass through the liver), I cut them in half and only take 1mg. The use of only 1/2 pill makes it dissolve faster too.
Avatar m tn I know losing weight will lower my estradiol and raise my testosterone, but how much of a difference will it make? I would be willing to try TRT but I am scared of infertility.
Avatar n tn If you are obese with increased body mass index and if you lose weight, exercise and eat a good glycemic index diet then you can improve your PCOS. If you have diabetes or glucose intolerance then Metformin can help you as well to control your blood sugars. Therefore there is a lot you can you with diet, exercise, weight loss to improve your condition.
Avatar f tn m in my late 30s - the first month I was tested, my estradiol was 374 and my FSH 5.2. The next month my estradiol dropped to 87 and my FSH increased to 10.1. I'm at a loss of whether I should keep trying or just say that a baby isn't in my cards. Anyone else heard of estradiol dropping hundreds of points in a single month?
Avatar n tn s a doctor here on MH by the name of James Beckerman who has some really good articles you might find interesting, regarding hgh and weight loss.
Avatar f tn I have gained about 8 pounds and I am freaking out! I have been extremely co scoops of my diet and etc. my doctor suggested we lower the dose to the .375 to see if it will help! How long will it be before I see the weight come off?
Avatar n tn And, it was honest. I so often feel the same way. I take estradiol (the only estrogen to use in my opinion) and Testosterone. My husband has been trying to get to the root of some problems that have caused a huge lack of desire... we think it is related to Sleep apnea and he will be tested... yeah! But, when I mentioned this to my doctor, he said, "Oh, you don't need the testosterone, then.
Avatar m tn I have Thyroid problems and PCOS, it depends on what your symptoms are. I had bad skin, cramps, hair loss, headaches weight gain among other things and immediately thought it was my thyroid I went to my doc and had bloods done. All came back with in the normal range. I did a bit more research and went back to my doc and basically made him put me on a low dose of thyroid meds, well within two weeks all symptoms had gone.
Avatar f tn The last six months I started getting my P every month for 3 weeks! My doc first prescribed me an estrogen (Estradiol) pill and told me to take it when my P was longer then 10 days. Well that didn't work. Two months ago he put me on the patch. A new patch every week. It worked the first month and I got no period at all (which is what he told me would happen) now I'm starting to bleed again. I'm so frustrated and I'm worried that it's gonna be another month long period.
Avatar n tn I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
Avatar f tn Norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol – Significantly impacted severity and duration of migraines, but provides no protection against other PMS symptoms and cause me to be a rageful, emotionally insane person for 3 days.
Avatar f tn I only took them for three days and then stopped because of such side effects as total loss of appetite, insomnia and pulling pain the shoulder. It felt like my arm had gone numb. This month I decided to try again and chose Qlaira (estradiol valerate/dienogest combination). As of now it doesn't seem to me that I have any other noticeable side effects except for this pulling pain in my left shoulder.
1651832 tn?1301690605 It was used (and probably still is) in Bi-est, which is an estrogen combination of Estradiol and Estriol that you can usually only pick up from a Compounding pharmacy. It was big in Europe (as I recall...) but it was because it was tougher to get it here in the US and the push to use mostly or only Estradiol was not as prevalent at that time. It was also supposed to be the next big thing regarding protection against breast cancer.
Avatar m tn Hi Guys, i'm basically 32, morbidly Obese, Height 5'7''/67inches, Weight 245 Pounds/110KG, Finally I went to see a renowned Endocrinologist of my City, he suggested me to do couple of blood tests, results are as below: ➢ Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) Test for Diabetes (Blood glucose) – 6.3 nmol/L = eAG of 134 ➢ 2-Hour Insulin Glucose Challenge Test Results: CPS-2HOURS (Cohas) = 5.06nmol/L Insulin (2HOURS) = >2089 pmol/L ➢ Insulin1 – 370 pmol/L ➢ CPS = 2.
Avatar n tn For menopausal reasons and especially at your age, I am glad to see your doctor gave you estradiol and only that (no other estrogens in the mix). As far as the patch goes, use trial and error if you have problems with it sticking. Also, sometimes if you are exercising frequently, you may be metabolizing the estradiol rather quickly, so keep a list of symptoms as they occur so that you can share this info with your doctor in case a dosing change has to be made.
Avatar f tn my result #s, yet I am still curious as to what the mean. My FSH is 2.0 and Estradiol 41pg/ml. Any feedback is greatly appreciated lay it on me regardless of if it is good OR bad. Thank you in advance.
7649183 tn?1393014236 014 mg/day). The Vivelle-dot is applied twice/weekly and contains .39 mg estradiol, which is .78 mg estradiol/week which is around .11 mg/day (data says .025 mg/day). This is what is confusing me. According to my calculations, Menostar delivers .14 mg/day and Viville-dot delivers .11 mg/day (which is less than Menostar). That's not what the data says though, but when I do the calculations, I come out with different answers.
Avatar f tn Hi, In 3 years gained 25 lbs and cannot lose weight. I try 5-6 small meals and tend to lose 2 lbs then spike back up once I eat differently. Never had a weight issue, thought at first age (49) or premenopausal, not the case. Used to get headaches, more than normal hair loss also at times at night have to catch my breath. So alarmed at the rate of the weight, it is like a air tube is attached to my belly button! Thank you in advance. CBC/BCG/ET4/TSH/PROL/LH/FSH/ESTDL 6.75 H Ref range 0.
Avatar f tn I cannot stand the pressure of the gas and the water weight makes it impossible to wear any of my clothing in comfort. I understood that the gain would be initially and not now. Also, I have alot of gastrointestenal problems on this drug, night sweats are terrible, discharge and so much more. What is the percent of this drug helping to insure not getting another breast problem regarding cancer again?
Avatar n tn The estradiol supresses this mechanism, allowing multiple follicles to mature, and making your chlomid or other drugs a better shot at producing multiple eggs.
