My Rx is for 2mg but since I don't take them orally / swallow (no first pass through the liver), I cut them in half and only take 1mg. The use of only 1/2 pill makes it dissolve faster too.

I have Thyroid problems and PCOS, it depends on what your symptoms are. The last six months I started getting my P every month for 3 weeks! My doc first prescribed me an estrogen (Estradiol) pill and told me to take it when my P was longer then 10 days. Well that didn't work. Two months ago he put me on the patch. A new patch every week. It worked the first month and I got no period at all (which is what he told me would happen) now I'm starting to bleed again. I'm so frustrated and I'm worried that it's gonna be another month long period.
I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
I only took them for three days and then stopped because of such side effects as total loss of appetite, insomnia and pulling pain the shoulder. It felt like my arm had gone numb. This month I decided to try again and chose Qlaira (estradiol valerate/dienogest combination). As of now it doesn't seem to me that I have any other noticeable side effects except for this pulling pain in my left shoulder.

i'm basically 32, morbidly Obese, Height 5'7''/67inches, Weight 245 Pounds/110KG, Finally I went to see a renowned Endocrinologist of my City, he suggested me to do couple of blood tests, results are as below:
➢ Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) Test for Diabetes (Blood glucose) – 6.3 nmol/L = eAG of 134
➢ 2-Hour Insulin Glucose Challenge Test Results:
CPS-2HOURS (Cohas) = 5.06nmol/L
Insulin (2HOURS) = >2089 pmol/L
➢ Insulin1 – 370 pmol/L
➢ CPS = 2.
For menopausal reasons and especially at your age, I am glad to see your doctor gave you estradiol and only that (no other estrogens in the mix). As far as the patch goes, use trial and error if you have problems with it sticking. Also, sometimes if you are exercising frequently, you may be metabolizing the estradiol rather quickly, so keep a list of symptoms as they occur so that you can share this info with your doctor in case a dosing change has to be made.
Hi, In 3 years gained 25 lbs and cannot lose weight. I try 5-6 small meals and tend to lose 2 lbs then spike back up once I eat differently. Never had a weight issue, thought at first age (49) or premenopausal, not the case. Used to get headaches, more than normal hair loss also at times at night have to catch my breath. So alarmed at the rate of the weight, it is like a air tube is attached to my belly button! Thank you in advance.

I cannot stand the pressure of the gas and the water weight makes it impossible to wear any of my clothing in comfort. I understood that the gain would be initially and not now. Also, I have alot of gastrointestenal problems on this drug, night sweats are terrible, discharge and so much more. What is the percent of this drug helping to insure not getting another breast problem regarding cancer again?
