Sounds like your doctor is on top of things. If your hormone levels are low, it makes perfect sense to use progesterone and estrogen supplements after ovulation. I've only used progesterone in the past, but I'm currently getting ready for IVF and will be on both estrogen and progesterone after retrieval. Best of luck to you!

Well, the doctor who did my transfer told me to take 2 estrodial per day and 3 prometrium per day and shot of progesterone every other day and I wasn't due to go back until my pregnancy test 10/7. However, I was unhappy with several lapses in care that I received along the process so I switched and they immediately started doing my blood levels every 3-4 days. I guess it helps them to keep your hormones where they need to be to support pregnancy.

My wife had the blood test conducted on 7th day after the IVF transfer. What do the following blood test results indicate: Progesterone: 6.

I am currently taking Lupron and Estradiol leading up to my IVF. I am having awful headaches and some nausea with the estradiol. Did anyone else experience this and does it go away? Thanks!

There may not be enough progesterone made by the ovary during an IVF cycle, and so more progesterone is routinely given. Crinone vaginal gel, intramuscular progesterone, and Prometrium capsules are natural progesterone preparations which are safe to use during pregnancy. In woman with recurrent pregnancy loss heparin and baby aspirin are helpful to keep open the blood vessels in the placenta. Steroids may also be helpful since they act by inhibiting the cellular immune response.

Now the 1st 2 days are the same but on day 3 its very light and day 4 and 5 nothing...I had my FSH and estradiol checked in march and all was good.. So could the progesterone Ive been on right after O for 4 months now be causing my shorter periods? Trust me Im not complaining if its shorter as long as its normal and not signaling anything wrong..lol Has this happend to anyone else? Thanks ladies!

s actually a lot of talk about whether or not estradiol (or estrogen) is even that important after IVF. The progesterone, on the other hand, is crucial....so make sure you take those every day! Best of luck with everything and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Well I had been on Clomid and Estradioal and Progesterone before my BFP. My prog was 400mg nightly and believe me even after being on that until I was 12 weeks I had an increase in my morning sickness or as I like to call it "all day sickness". I think every woman is different. Wish you luck out tho and are one of the lucky ones.

Which are better? I'm on injecctions, 1ml of progesterone a day, and 0.2 estradiol every 3rd day. But I've seen many web pages that say the jelly is better...vaginal suppositories? That they provide a higher pregnancy rate. is this true?

I would not discontinue any of that medication without a doctors say. Prednisone is dealing with an immune issue, Heprin is thinning your blood so blood clots don't form. I take both these too. I would think your doctor would probably have you stop the estrogen and progesterone between 10 and 12 weeks. I know it's a lot right now to take but it's so very important to make sure you take these meds consistently right now.

I had the d/c for fibroid feb 6, up till that date i was on Lupron,,, Then I started on the estrace/generic estradiol and started the progesterone on day 15.. My breasts feel like if i dont wear a bra they going to fall off, and cramping like its coming but im usually 30 days, now im day 35 .. anyone been like this..

Hi thank you so much for your response. I kept real positive for my first IVF and I rested did everything I should and beyond and nothing :( I really thought I was pregnant then and I wasn't. This time I already feel like its a negative and it may help the let down if I am not pregnant. I don't want to get my hopes up and be let down. I don't think I can go through that again. I feel like its never ever going to happen.

My lining was 7 something... (and i think i started progesterone soon after that..)and by transfer time (day 5.) it was at 9 something...

In the past three days my beta increased from 186 to 534, but my progesterone and estradiol both dropped. Progesterone went from 93 to 73.3 and estradiol went from 520 to 503. Should I be concerned? I'm 15 days post-transfer. Thanks.

My beta is scheduled for 12/15 but I'm feeling PMS like cramping; is it possible if I'm not pregnant to get my period prior to the beta?

You could always have another beta just to ease your mind. It will take a while for your cycle to resume after taking progesterone/Estradiol - if you don't start within the next couple of months, call the re's office - they'll probably put you on Prometrium or something like that. I'm very sorry for your negative result - I too went through a IVF cycle at 43 - it got cancelled day before retrieval and it was so hard. Do you plan to keep trying?

So after a week of stopping my estradiol and progesterone suppositories because they said I'm going to have a chemical pregnancy, my beta finally doubled every 45 hrs, they tell me my estradiol has dropped so now I'm going to maybe have an ectopic...I can't take this!

I just got the results back - Hcg is 5,784, Estradiol is 694 and progesterone is 28.2.. Are these good numbers?? I am on estradiol pills (8mg a day) and 1ml of progesterone (shots) a day. My first u/s is Friday and I am repeating blood next week. Please tell me if these are good numbers.. Thank you!!

after one 3cm fibroid removal.. I was on estrace/estradiol and progesterone..for a month. Is this a temporary estrogen fix as i would call it, will my fsh levels rise again.. The Re says my levels are perfect right now and will proceed with putting me back on lupron and etc....

The only way to really know what your levels of estrogen and progesterone are is to have blood work. I always get Estradiol done on my 7dpo test with my progesterone, which is a nice thing that my RE never did! (which maybe if he had, he would have discovered that I had low estrogen throughout my cycle!!) Good luck! Hope you get your BFP!

Tina is right. If your insurance covers everything then go with IVF. I have unexplained infertiloty and after 1 Chlomid cycle and 1 IUI cycle we decided to proceed with IVF. They did my husbands semen analysis. Because of your age you have a very high possibility with IVF . good luck!

I am on progesterone like many of you and only 6+4 weeks pregnant right now. I saw some pinkish/brownish watery stain on wipe twice yesterday and nothing today, did this happen to any of you??? I am concerned and paranoid about it. Another question, are you getting any progesterone level blood draws? And for how long does your RE want you to be on progesterone??? Mine said 8 weeks but I feel it should be longer than that!! Please share.

hi dr i need ur expertise once again i took the meds as my dr prescribe and i dnt think the clomid as work for me this month if u remember i took provera to make my period come and i took clomid 3-7 and estradiol 8-12 today is cd 29 and i was suppose to do and preg test on cd27-28 and both test come back negative...and i had an hsg test done 2008 and i didnt have any blockage everything was fine...

Hi. Dh & I are in our 3rd year ttc. We both checked out okay, but so far, no luck. My only issue is that I have a t-shaped uterus & so my RE won't put me on meds that could increase the chance of multiples. It's too much of a risk. Anyway, this past cycle I had an u/s on cd12. My RE measured my uterine lining & I can't remember how thick it was, but she commented that it was thin, but that I had a few more days for it to thicken.
