estradiol and pcos

Yesterday i went to the doctor , he did a ultrasound and discovered i have PCOS . He has put me on femara and estradiol. Has anyone ever taken this? Does anyone have any success stories of getting pregnany and having PCOS ? God Bless you all .

I had bloodwork done today (cd4 - but it shiould have been cd3) I had my FSH and estradiol tested, they said that the results were "great" . I didn't have a pen when they called with them, but i think one was 46 and the other was 6 or 9. Anyhow what does that mean? Also If they are concerned that I not only have severe endo, but maybe mild PCOS, does having normal lab values on the FSH and estradiol mean that I dont' have PCOS? (I have normal periods every month!

I am a 25 year old female, I had a saliva hormone kit evaluated with testosterone, DHEA, estradiol, and progesterone, also progesterone/estradiol ratio done. The results came back as this, Estradiol- normal Progesterone- Low; 47.2 (range of 127-446) Ratio of Progesterone to estradiol - 33.0 Low; (range of 200-600) Testosterone- 83.5 High; (range of 6.0-49) DHEA- 366.7 High- (range of 106-300) I can tell that i have way higher 'male hormones' than the women's hormones but, why?

hello! I am a 30 year old recently diagnosed with PCOS. I have been feeling like garbage recently and have not been able to find a doctor who can help. I recently went through my lab results from September and see my Estradiol is <5.00 pg/mL. I am also on Lo Loestrin. Can the birth control be causing the very low numbers, my PCOS, something else? The numbers are those of someone in menopause, so it is a bit concerning. Any insight is appreciated!

Hi all, quick question. i am currently taking 125 units of follistim and on cycle day 13 today. yesterday went for us and labs, saw 3 follicles, largest 17, smallest 15. estradiol level was 1146. they want me to come back again monday for another us and labs. with estradiol level that high, doesnt that mean something is mature and i should trigger. i do have pcos, and don't want all 4 to release. any thoughts or ideas?

t have PCOS, but I was not ovulating regularly. I took 50 MG of CLomid and then was on estradiol supplements to increase my uterine lining as it was way too thin.

Hi, I just found out tueday i have PCOS and i dont have any of the signs except the cyst in my ovaries. Im 5'6 and weigh 120 , i dont have extra hair growth , insulin resistance and my period are normal. Hello, I am writing because I have lots of symptoms of PCOS and 5 years ago I went through fertiltiy and found that I have PCOS, but now 5 years later I had my hormone levels taken just by family doctor and they say they are normal but what is normal. Can anyone help me? I don't have periods, I grow hair in places you don't want and more here are the lab results from lab. Estradiol (estrogen) 26 pg/mL FSH 5.0 mIU/mL LH 12.2 mIU/mL These are the ones they have done. What does this mean?

Hi! If you were my patient, I would encourage you to consider an IUD for birth control. The Mirena can be a very convenient and effective method. If you want a regular cycle though, oral contraceptives are probably your best bet. You probably need to give then a fair try (two to three MONTHS) if you are going to use them. There will be some type of side effect with each method, so, you will have to consider which is going to be most tolerable for you. Good luck!

I had moderate endometriosis (caused heavy painful periods)so I had a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, d and c, and another HSG and the following month and any other time it has been tested, it has been in the 5 to 6 range. So even though the drs wont say one way or the other in my situation I think my endo. was making mine high. I havent researched it or anything but I have no other explaination except that. Maybe something to look into.

Do you happen to know what the normal ranges are for LH and FSH? I recently had some blood tests done and my LH was at 0.2 and FSH at 1.2. (The tests were taken on day 16 or 17 of my cycle. Incidentally, my estrogen/estradiol was ,15 too.) My Ob/Gyn doesn't know what it means exactly... and hasn't really explained much, except to say that these levels were very low. I don't know what the normal range is...and still don't know what these numbers mean.

Later dr. advised me to take estradiol 1mg a day for 13 days and then she added progesterone 0.2 mg soft capsules along with the same dosage of estradiol for next 9 days. She told me that I am suppose to get my periods within 3 to 7 days after I finish this medicine. Today is the 14th day but still I did not get my periods. I want to ask what can be the reason.

i am pcos and trying to conceive i tried 50mg of clomid and last 100mg now my doctor wants to try provera again because my period want start on its own when my period start he wants me to take estradiol on day 3 it that oral medication or an injectables what does it really means

I have both hypothyroidism and PCOS, but I was diagnosed with pcos 10 years ago, and hypothryoidism 3 weeks ago. I do understand that they are very much related and often go hand in hand...

t even have a follicle that is 10mm yet. all are around 8mm. oh and i do have pcos. any advice would be great.

I have to guess at what your doctor is thinking, but to me it sounds like he wants to do a day 3 FSH and estradiol level, and yes, I suspect he is trying to rule out premature ovarian failure. It is possible that your ovaries were damaged by the endometriosis surgery. Has anyone considered Metformin for you? Just an aside.

hi dr i need ur expertise once again i took the meds as my dr prescribe and i dnt think the clomid as work for me this month if u remember i took provera to make my period come and i took clomid 3-7 and estradiol 8-12 today is cd 29 and i was suppose to do and preg test on cd27-28 and both test come back negative...and i had an hsg test done 2008 and i didnt have any blockage everything was fine...

Then the next two nights I did 50 IU and ultrasound showed no measurable follicles and my estridiol level went up to 125. THEN I did 50 IU that night and the next night - and ultrasound again showed no measurable follicles but my estridiol levels dropped from 125 to 43!!! what does this mean? The nurse said this is pretty normal for patients with irregular cycles and PCOS.

Over a year ago i had a mass, and a cyst removed from my right ovary and shortly after was diagnosed with pcos. I was without pain for quite some time post-op, now however, i'm finding my body going back to it's old ways (not as bad, but definitely not comfortable). My periods are unbearable, i am currently on a narcotic to help with the pain during my period and just within the last week i have started experiencing night sweats.

This then gets the body into menopause and then i start puregon injectables (gonal f) and then ovidrel and then IUI. I just spoke to the clinic and they dont want me to start the nasal spray -as it looks like I havent ovulated - blood test done on CD20 at 9am. I detected an LH surge last Tuesday (19th Feb). I have lowered TSH and VERY low estrogen, prgesterone, FSH, LH and PRL. I don;t have PCOS but the endo wanted to put me on metformin. Have you had any luck with your diagmosis? Im at my wits end Im even seeing a chinese healer tomorrow.

Ok here is my situation. I have PCOS and have done 2 cycles of clomid, and 2 of femara, and the bloodwork showed I did not ovulate any of these times. However, I was not being monitored by ultrasound, so there was no way to know if I was growing follicles and just not releasing eggs from them.

Drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) and my OB/GYN wants to see how my hormones are doing. The hormones he wants to check are prolactin, cortisol and testosterone and my GP has also ordered estradiol as she suspects that checking cortison will not be possible (it has to be done in a hospital and this is unavailable atm due to COVID-19). I will have a blood test next Tuesday, coincidentally during my placebo week (and probably my first day of period).
