Estradiol, estrone, and estriol are forms of estrogen with estradiol and estrone being the primary (and maybe only) systemic forms of estrogen. My lab's ranges show a max non-pregnancy and non-menopausal value of estradiol to be 498 pg/mL and estrone 268 pg/mL. Estradiol can exceed 4300 in the first trimester of pregnancy. And post-menopausal levels are less than 54 and less than 65, respectively.
That's interesting. I wouldn't think that estrogen (estriol or estradiol) cream would cause most of those symptoms. However, it could affect your menstrual cycle.
Hey, I'm a 60 year old women who is on Armour thyroid, and I am menopasal, I had a estradiol test, I believe it was 30 but should be 90 if I'm remembering right. Should I have a Progesterin test also? I read that Estriol is a good estrogene suppliment to use, I guess its used vaginally is that right? and it says I should use Progesterone along with it, do they have a progesteron that can be used vaginally? or is the cream good?

These are specific blends to each individual and they have got to be properly balance for the individual to maintain wellness and ward off disease and counter act with human progesterone and testosterone for balance.
I am not on HRT nor have I had surgery - but recently I was found estrogen dominant by specific labs that aren't commonly used. I am still in the beginning stages of balancing progesterone and estrodiol to maintain my wellness.
It is not without side effects and these include, irritation and itching at the site of application, increased discharge from vagina, bloating sensation, cystitis like symptoms, leg cramps etc. You should use it only under medical supervision.

In my situation, one of my hormone doctors kept increasing the level of Progesterone and decreasing the level of Estradiol. I was a bit of a mess for quite awhile on this protcol. It wasn't until I switched to Estradiol only (various forms are available from either a compounder or from an all purpose pharmacy. I currently use the Vivelle dot) and a little bit of Testosterone. You are right about the testosterone.
If I would be you I will follow your doctor's advice.I'm post menopausal and never had spotting until this past november.It was tiny but any bleeding/spotting after menopause is considered abnormal. She ordered a Transvaginal U and the report indicated that I had an11 mm heterogenous endometrium. To make the story short I had a D&C and hysteroscopy one week ago. They removed one polyp that was causing the thickness and bleeding. For that I'm so thankful!
For menopausal reasons and especially at your age, I am glad to see your doctor gave you estradiol and only that (no other estrogens in the mix). As far as the patch goes, use trial and error if you have problems with it sticking. Also, sometimes if you are exercising frequently, you may be metabolizing the estradiol rather quickly, so keep a list of symptoms as they occur so that you can share this info with your doctor in case a dosing change has to be made.
