Avatar f tn The other girls are right, espresso tends to have a ton of caffeine, and even decaf coffee has caffeine.
390416 tn?1275185087 Coffee Tip of the day. Espresso shots are less acidic than brewed. The beans are only in contact with hot water for 18-22 seconds.
Avatar n tn Decaf coffee still has as much as 40% of the caffeine as regular coffee!!!! My cardio said to avoid it. Well, I don't but when the PVC's are getting ahead of my head and I need to get them to chill out again I stop all coffee intake. Then, when all that settles again, I do the completely wrong and very human thing of starting up with the coffee again. It's a tough one to kick!!!
Avatar f tn I know that a tall usually has one shot of espresso and the grande and venti have two shots. So the coffee ratio to everything else is pretty small. Good luck and hope you get your drink.
Avatar f tn I was just curious if it's OK to have at least one caffeine drink a day? I'm a ftm and I will be 33 weeks tomorrow.
Avatar f tn Some caffeine is ok. Like stated above 300mg is what you need to stay under. I know people who drink coffee every day and the baby is fine. Remember caffeine can be an addiction so it's important to listen to your body. Some people it's better to drink the coffee than have the withdrawls of a lack of caffeine consumption.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me I have to have caffeine at least once a day because I am addicted to it and so I have a glass of either coke or coffee a day or I will get sick. Drinking tea lowers your iron so I'd watch how much tea you drink but you will be fine unless your doctor says you can't.
Avatar f tn My headaches were getting more frequent during my second trimester. I discussed this with my doctor. He told me to start having a little caffeine to help with the headaches. Before he told me this i didn't have a drop of caffeine. I think anything in moderation is okay...
Avatar f tn You and baby will be fine your given 200mg of caffeine a day
7878456 tn?1395003341 Did you know it takes us pregnant women longer to detoxify caffeine and even other ingredients in coffee? It crosses over to the baby and can cause irregular heartbeat. In the second and third trimester it will take 3 times as long fir the babys system to detoxify. Also it decreases your mineral absorption. It makes your body more acidic. It can cause miscarriage and also decreases your fertility. It can later lead to osteoporosis. In general regular or extreme use is horrible on your body.
Avatar f tn t good for the baby, I used to drink a 20 Oz espresso every day, but the Dr said that about the cup of one cup of coffee is okay, as long as you are not exceeding 200mg of caffeine, that applies to tea too. And absolutely no energy drinks. I completely stopped drinking coffee all the way and I was the biggest addict.
Avatar f tn I drank coffee with my first 2 pregnancys but not this time I smell of coffee makes me so sick (btw I was a complete coffee addict) so I no longer do. I do have coke zero though and that contains caffeine.
Avatar f tn Im only 14 weeks pregnant I have heard some people say that it's ok to drink coffee I've heard some people say I'm not sure what do you think Because I keep forgetting to ask my doctor I drank it my last pregnancy butI drank it on the last trimester
Avatar f tn Not good! Lol! Ha ha! I love love coffee! I drink it black and I love adding a shot of espresso. So you are not alone. I am also around 6 wks. My 1st appt is the 5th.
8691340 tn?1415127741 I drank coffee every morning up until about 2 weeks ago (I'm almost 31 weeks). The dr said it was ok as long as I wasn't drinking red bulls or downing like 4 cups a day. I also had Starbucks probably about once a week. I only stopped because I've been having trouble sleeping lately and I didn't want the caffeine to add to it. If you're craving Starbucks I say go for it!
Avatar f tn so it shouldn't hurt the baby? And I've been attempting to drink lots of water....
Avatar f tn The March of Dimes recommends that women who are pregnant or trying to become pregnant consume no more than 200 milligrams (mg) of caffeine per day (equal to about one 12-ounce cup of coffee a day). A new study has found that women who consume 200 mg of caffeine or more a day are twice as likely as women who consume no caffeine to have a miscarriage (1).
Avatar f tn You are allowed like two cups of coffee a day. I have stopped drinking it too but a small amount a day is still allowed.
10633889 tn?1414018565 My local coffee shop got decaf espresso so they can make me any of the usual drinks in decaf. I would think Starbucks would carry such a thing.
Avatar f tn no starbucks (since one small Starbucks coffee/ drink has been shown to have anywhere between 200 and 500mg of caffeine) and just be sure you aren't getting caffeine from anywhere else so no tea, chocolate, or colas, root beer, or mountain dew
Avatar n tn It is flavored syrup, steamed milk, 2 shots of espresso. I just found out I am about 6 weeks pregnant, do I have to give up my coffee?
Avatar f tn You can have up to 200mg of caffeine a day. A caramel macchiato at starbucks has espresso, each shot has 75mg of caffeine. A grande and venti hot drink has 2 shots in each. A venti iced has 3 shots so its a little over. A cup of coffee has between 65-115mg of coffee. Soda has the least amount of caffeine, and teas. It is all debatible, but I have a cup of coffee every morning. I do cut a lot of sugar out though by using some sugar free products.
Avatar f tn If you're worried about the caffeine, you can ask for it decaf. I also reward myself with Starbucks at least once or twice a week.
Avatar f tn I have one cup of instant coffee in the morning, maybe a second if its a looooong day. Definitely no espresso based coffee for me and going from at least 3 a day, it's been hard! Planning on stopping all caffeine by my third trimester as i don't fancy a newborn hyped up on caffeine from the womb.
