Epipen travel case

Common Questions and Answers about Epipen travel case

epipen

Avatar f tn It should only be used in case of life threatening allergic reaction. Epipen is known to be associated with shaking esp. when the larger doses are taken. You should not take more than recommended dose; otherwise you may land up in complication. This is due to stimulation of the muscles. Hence, epipen should be better used under doctor's observation. If you are allergic to water following measures will help you- - Stay away from water as long as possible. - Avoid going in rain outside.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.
Avatar f tn Got a call from back home, my grandmother who raised me is in the hospital. I'm 36 weeks 3 days along and I'm scared to travel. Going to be a quick 8hr trip, not really feeling any signs of labor just some contractions on and off. Been going back and forth on wither it's a good idea to go, might be my last time seeing my grandmother...
Avatar f tn t take the risk just in case I went into early labour or something,I beginning to get paro now.what do u girls think?
Avatar n tn If she is not allergic to all triazole antifungals, it should be safe... She could take it but have her epipen in close range, just in case, and maybe take it while a doctor is present, just in case. To be on the safe side, switch to another imidazole or thiazole antifungal instead.
Avatar m tn Some allergies can be life-threatening as they can precipitate anaphylactic shock in which the swelling can be so severe that it impairs the ability to breathe. Therefore, I would suggest you see someone as soon as possible. Also, keep an epi pen with you in case of an emergency. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Do any of yall know if its safe to travel during your 27th week?? Im a bit scared cuz I get alot of back pain. Right now im 26+3.
Avatar f tn hai..cn i know,i'm now 36wks prgncy.. cn i make future travel in my condition now? or it's dangerous for my prgncy n my bby?
1847035 tn?1327274923 so I'm 33 weeks and 4 days. I called my obgyn to ask if I could travel by car but no call back. I'm noy driving, it's a 4 hoyr trip.. so I was wondering do y'all think it's okay??
Avatar f tn This has always controlled the swelling for me, but in my case I have eaten something that I am allergic to and the reaction starts in the throat. For you, the throat swelling seems to be part of a systemic reaction. In any case the liquid Benadryl is worth a try.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
Avatar n tn My tips after that would be wear circulation socks, get up and move around a lot, take advantage of the bathroom when you can in case of turbulence (i missed a chance once and there was 45 minutes of it.)and roll your ankles in each direction often while sitting.
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar f tn You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
Avatar f tn How far do you have to travel? If you are taking a plan wipe everything in your seat area down with baby wipes and keep you baby covered with a nursing cover as much as possible. Baby will have none of their shots and it will be very dangerous if he or she catches something. Also wait to buy tickets...
Avatar f tn I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.
Avatar f tn Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!
Avatar f tn I did a lot of international travel during tx, carrying ribavarin, peginteron pens, Procrit and syringes. I carried the injectables in an insulated thermocool bag with ice packs. I always carried my meds on, would not dare place them in checked bags both because of the risk of losing them and the risk of breakage. At security I would advise what I was carrying and ask that the bag be examined by hand. I travelled in Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean without incident.

I am like Idc I can't breath stab me! ) I almost died that day, and now I have been having panic attacks almost every other day.
