m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.

Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.

Yes I can't even do an auto injector. When I was married I couldn't even get my ex to give me the shot ( or use the EpiPen ) so I am always in really bad shape by the time I get medical help. So I always get a tongue lashing by the doctors for not giving myself the shot. I am pretty sure it is a phobia because if I am given a shot by someone else and can't see the needle going in I will pass out.

Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.

My wife was called back in 3 days later for her annual flu shot. A day later she has broken out with severe hives. Our MD is not available for a few days, so I thought I would investigate on my own. Could this be a reaction to the flu shot? The medication? Both? or something not related to either? I undeerstand and antihistine would help. Correct?

This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????

Definitely talk to your doctor in the morning. I have anaphylaxis when stung by bees. They told me to carry my epipen (shot) & take it, then go to the hospital if I got stung. They told me to do what I normally do, but get monitored. They may want you to come in since your immune system is low, due to being pregnant & the reaction could be worse or cause a fever.

My doctor told me to take 50mg of Benadryl and 2 puffs of albuterol before my shots, in addition to my regular medicines. I have an EpiPen available on shot days. At the time, I was supposed to get shots every week. They increased the interval to two weeks and increased my dose more slowly than usual, so it took me longer to get to my maintenance dose.

I have personal knowledge that this transdermal entry does not affect me as an intravenous shot because its a hot shot not delivered over several hours and virtually non-invasive. Make sure you have an epipen in case you have a reaction. Opiates are not all created equal and neither are patches.

My pulse and blood pressure went way up and the fr had to call some code so more .urses and drs could help. I thought I was boing to die. They shot me HP witb an epipen. I got better after 15mins. I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.

In Jan I traveld out of the US to the dominican republic. Two days upon my return I broke out in hives. This was before eating breakfast. My allergist gave me allegra 180mg twice a day, a medrol shot and I had taken benadryl. The bloodwork showed an IGE level of 1400 but didn't specify the allergen. In March I began having shortness of breath and was hyperventilating., From there I had chronic diahrea. I had fatigue for weeks.

You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.

In the past I was having severe breathing problems within 5 minutes. It took only about 5 more minutes before they gave me an Epi shot and probably another 15 or 20 minutes for it to calm everything down. I was headed for home after only 30 minutes in the ER. The other times they would have me in the ER for 3 - 4 hours before they could release me. The nurse in the ER also told me that the Epi could make you a little shaky and that seems to be an understatement for me.

I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.

Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!

I have been having panic attacks ever since early 2015 when I was first ever stang by a wasp and went into anaphylactic shock.(the er doctor said I am allergic to bees/wasps/hornets venom. That day I was rushed back into the er and bum rushed by 5 different nurses and a doctor, one nurse asking me which arm I want the epipen in? I am like Idc I can't breath stab me! ) I almost died that day, and now I have been having panic attacks almost every other day.

have you tried pesasys epipen and riba they say the effect i have not tried any meds yet but i am asking for the epipen

I now carry an epipen but would really like to track down the food that caused me to go into shock. Has anyone had such a reaction to chives or green onions without being allergic to other foods in that family? Thanks for any help you can give me.

For a couple of years I started having this reaction to mangoes, where my lips burn and start to get crusty, and it has developed to that, my mouth gets itchy and dry, and my throat becomes raw. My aunt who used to be a RN gave me something called aclivor (both a pill and some kind of paste for my lips) which seemed to work for the first event. But lately, I've been running out of the paste and the only place I can find aclivor is on online pharmacies from Mexico.
