m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.

In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding.
Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Yes, they do hook you up to an IV. It's not only for fluids but for any medications that might be needed along the way. Getting the IV was always the worst part for me because my veins are so small. This last time I warned them about the trouble others have had. They were great. They did the hot packs, then gave me a tiny shot in the area for the IV. When they had to put the big needle in, I didn't feel a thing. I was so happy then I didn't care what came next.
I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
I laid my hand between the cracks of the bleachers at school, and unknowingly felt something weird and sharp touching me. It turned out to be a really thin needle that was inside the plastic hub, 3/4 the length of the hub.
Last question, can the needle that was used to be injected into someone, be pushed back inside the plastic hub? (I guess as a "safety" feature") ?

You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
If you are talking about a seroma at the surgical site, it takes a considerable length of time. If this is the problem the Surgeon will often drain the area with a needle OR even replace a drain until the amount of drainage has lessened to nearly none. Regards ....

I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.
Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!
Since it was a hollow bore needle and the needle was broken air was able to circulate through both ends of the needle. If there was blood in the needle, there were no special circumstances present like there would be in an enclosed syringe or a full needle attached to a syringe. The virus can live approximately 4 days on surfaces under normal circumstances. You should report the incident but in my opinion you should be fine.
Howlong should you let a seroma go (if is isnt absorbing back into the tissues) before you get it aspirated by a needle? How can I get the seoma to go away myself, by heat or warm moist heat? does this really work?
There are all kinds of other factors (such as point of penetration by the needle) that affect the risk of transmission but it is still a risk, injection or not.
I dont know whether it was done by someone knowingly or not with some hiv infected object like needle ,nail etc.There was a little blood on the scratched skin.(I dont know whether it was mine or someone else).Like a fool i was so panicked that i did'nt wash the scratched skin.
Scratch was about 9 mm in length,but not deep.I am the only son of my parents.I cannot tell this incident to them.It would break their heart.I have lost all of my hope and all dreams which i had cherished .
