Epipen insulated case

Common Questions and Answers about Epipen insulated case

epipen

Avatar f tn It should only be used in case of life threatening allergic reaction. Epipen is known to be associated with shaking esp. when the larger doses are taken. You should not take more than recommended dose; otherwise you may land up in complication. This is due to stimulation of the muscles. Hence, epipen should be better used under doctor's observation. If you are allergic to water following measures will help you- - Stay away from water as long as possible. - Avoid going in rain outside.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.
Avatar n tn My husband started cutting wood in the fall, he cut wood that was already cut down & seasoned. Then he cut down trees & cut them up. He started with a rash on his arms & ankles over a month ago, then spead to his privates. He used Benadryl & creams and it had cleared up and was about gone. Then deer season came, he wore several layers of cloths, insulated coveralls & an insulated coat.
Avatar n tn Pack your injectables with cold packs in a separate case and advise security that you are carrying injectables. I used an insulated bag and one or two of the freezer packs that came with my meds. I also carried copies of my prescriptions in case there was any question at security and also in case I needed to get fresh drugs while away from home. I never had any trouble. For car trips I carried a cooler bag with freezer packs and booked into hotels that had a mini-fridge in the room.
Avatar f tn I agree with the above. Use an insulated case with frozen ice packs. They will stay cold down in baggage but I would worry too much about them being broken and I felt compelled to hand carry them. I'd carry the riba too. They will look at them but usually won't be too interested in touching them.
8171031 tn?1399327634 No reason to be insulated... if you want your bottle to be insulated they have little things that are just big enough for a bottle. Since a already prepared bottle only stays good in a fridge there is really no reason.
Avatar n tn If she is not allergic to all triazole antifungals, it should be safe... She could take it but have her epipen in close range, just in case, and maybe take it while a doctor is present, just in case. To be on the safe side, switch to another imidazole or thiazole antifungal instead.
Avatar m tn Some allergies can be life-threatening as they can precipitate anaphylactic shock in which the swelling can be so severe that it impairs the ability to breathe. Therefore, I would suggest you see someone as soon as possible. Also, keep an epi pen with you in case of an emergency. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn This has always controlled the swelling for me, but in my case I have eaten something that I am allergic to and the reaction starts in the throat. For you, the throat swelling seems to be part of a systemic reaction. In any case the liquid Benadryl is worth a try.
Avatar f tn I would go into the emergency room just in case. Nothing could seem wrong, but you won't know until you get checked out. I collapsed in Wal-Mart a week ago and come to find out I have a deficiency of some sort.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
Avatar f tn Lol I went for a walk wrapped up warm. :) Come out baby !!!!!!!
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar n tn Im a meat cutter, we where pants and a work shirt, nothing well insulated. I geuss i was just wondering if i will be more prone to arthritis or any other physical problems due to the constant up and down of the temperatures, in and out of the cold nonstop.
789700 tn?1256907087 I think I will have to pre medicate before any more dental procedures, even my routine cleaning. Just bought an insulated case to carry antiviral eye drops {small purse size}. Opt, said I need to use drops within 6 hurs of symptoms.
233622 tn?1279334905 they do make insulated blue jeans that work real well, other then that we just layer up and 20 sounds real nice right about now here in my part of Alaska it's -20 below Cowboy
Avatar f tn That is a very good question. There are various manufacturers, and that question is best addressed to the one producing your pen. An alternative is to bring along a plastic insulated lunch box and purchase some of those "ice" units that are plastic filled with a solution that is frozen. They will keep the temperature down for a long time.
Avatar f tn You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
Avatar f tn No they're fine.
