Common Questions and Answers about Epipen holders for children

epipen

Avatar n tn I have some serious allergies and often they close my throat. I live 20 minutes from the nearest doctor or hospital. Until recently I always felt safe because I could use an epipen and that would give me time to get help. But now I have been diagnosed with about 8000 PVCs a day, and was told by another sufferer that I shouldn't use an epipen anymore, that it's not a good idea for those with PVCs.

Avatar n tn Is Epipen available in India? If not, what is the alternative emergency treatment for anaphylactic shock commonly used?
230262 tn?1316645934 d suggest you get a pediatric Epipen. Personally I keep 2 on hand. You should have 1 at school for him and one either in your purse or at home. He should have one available at all times. These allergies accelerate quickly. Check for dosage with your doctor, but you can also use benadryl for allergic reactions. I'm so sorry this happened to your children. These stings hurt horribly! And right now with school starting, you all have enough on your plate. Good luck at the clinic tonight.

Avatar m tn Hey, I am with you on this. What is next? And listing people with depression is already being discussed. I think it is fair game that if you are going to go as far as to post peoples names who are legal permit holders, it is equally fair to post the "authors" name of the said list of permit holders. It all lacks tact, but this is where we are today. Something that has been said around CE is, "whats good for the goose is good for the gander".
Avatar n tn and the clear, clean, single use plastic vacutainer holders into another trash container. INTERESTINGLY....the ONCE FULL TO THE BRIM blood borne container was about 1/8 full !!! What a waste of container space.... What an excessive cost to our medical trash removal... I know the answer from OSAH....and the regulators of medical / lab practices....BUT I would like to know if there are "multiple use holder devices".
Avatar f tn The other day my friend had a major asthma attack that almost sent him to the ER-- he thankfully had an epipen nearby. He thinks what triggered it was a laxative (sennosides in pill form) he took a couple of hours before. Is this even possible? And if so, should he be avoiding all things laxative? I wouldn't be asking these questions here, but he is too stubborn to go to a doctor like he should.
Avatar m tn In some cases, people who are allergic to wheat, beans (legumes), milk or other foods can have an allergic reaction to soy. You can confirm this by blood test to see for raised IgE levels and skin testing for soy products. I would suggest you obtain a referral to an allergist or an ENT who does allergy testing. Some allergies can be life-threatening as they can precipitate anaphylactic shock in which the swelling can be so severe that it impairs the ability to breathe.
Avatar f tn t realise that I was drawn blood with reusable holder(they reuse the holders) however they are using fresh needles and vaccum tubes. But I am worried wether the reusable holders contain a blood stains on it and I might have contracted HIV that way while drawing the blood....
Avatar f tn For pollen, dog and cat hair try taking some antihistamine like Zyrtec (works well for me). For the food allergies, you just have to avoid them. Try Googling some gluten-free recipes.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
Avatar f tn The endocrinologists refused to discuss any other kind of medication, and I have to stop Synthroid immediately.Sad for me, I remember how great it was for the in a long time, I was the same person as the 4 1/2 year ago.
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar f tn They use reusable blood tube holders on patients and NEVER wash them in between patients. They also use them for weeks or even months on end without throwing them out. According to OSHA 50% to 80% of blood tube holders are contaminated after even a single use. I noticed that the blood tube holder used on me had some blood splashes on it -- but the phlebotomist told me -- don't worry -- this never touches your skin. Am I at risk for contracting HIV or Hepatitis?
Avatar f tn Get tested for allergies. It sounds like you have ingested or been exposed to something that is an allergen (to you). You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
1658855 tn?1335211819 For me.. cup holders! LOL. Sounds silly but they come in handy for everything. Also lots of space to put diaper bag and other crap. Easy to fold down, and turn!

934889 tn?1252505649 My pants are already too tight and I have to do magic tricks with ponytail holders to keep them on me. Is anyone else showing already? My doctor doesnt see patients until 8 weeks unless there is an issue but I am wondering if I should raise this concern to him...
216354 tn?1262871346 5 weeks with twins and my husband and I are trying to get a jumpstart at buying things for the babies so that we don’t get hit with a huge bill at all once. My question is concerning strollers/car seats. We are looking for a twin stroller where the babies can be side by side. We preferably want one where we can click the car seats into the strollers so we can just go! So far, we can really only find front/back strollers.
