1119036 tn?1259534815 i am currently taking 1mg xanax 3 times a day i go to walgreens and they have the generic brand purepac and i have heard that greenstone brand is so much better i was just wondering if anyone had any feed back .......
Avatar f tn My only suggestion is to check on who the generic mfg is. I had a bad arrhythmic reaction to one brand of generic Zoloft, and it turns out the problem is pretty common. I hate to generalize, but in general, if the mfg is from India (such as Aurobindo), consider getting your generic Zoloft elsewhere. My recommendation is Greenstone, as it's owned by the company that makes the name brand, and I've read that the formulation is identical.
Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
Avatar f tn This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
Avatar m tn This generic (called alprazolam) was probably actually the identical name brand Xanax manufactured by Pfizer. Pfizer simply sends the true Xanax formula to Greenstone; Greenstone just puts a generic number on it, so you are really buying and taking the name brand Xanax. A pharmacy manager told me this is a very common practice among big pharma. As of 2 years ago, I find Pfizer's generic Xanax now has NO EFFICACY! Why?
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar f tn You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
Avatar f tn I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.
Avatar f tn Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!
Avatar f tn I am currently taking zoloft since nov 09, I've had to increase the dosage twice and am now on 150mg, the first couple days are worriesome I was jittery, and can cause diarrhea, and I did feel a little panicky. it is suppose to give you a boost of energy (per my psychiatrist) but if you are in panic mode you may feel it is just exacerbating your panic attack. It does go away in about 4-7 days.
20451547 tn?1498215245 I have been having panic attacks ever since early 2015 when I was first ever stang by a wasp and went into anaphylactic shock.(the er doctor said I am allergic to bees/wasps/hornets venom. That day I was rushed back into the er and bum rushed by 5 different nurses and a doctor, one nurse asking me which arm I want the epipen in? I am like Idc I can't breath stab me! ) I almost died that day, and now I have been having panic attacks almost every other day.
645800 tn?1466860955 With the talk of EpiPen in Michelle's post earlier today it got me thinking about my problem with needles and other self infecting skin damage devices. I am hoping that maybe someone will have some ideas or at least where to look for help with this. My problem isn't the normal fear of needles. I can get shot or blood drawn with no problems. Well except I have to be able to watch what is going on.If I can't see it happening I will pass out.
1201433 tn?1328997637 have you tried pesasys epipen and riba they say the effect i have not tried any meds yet but i am asking for the epipen
Avatar m tn I now carry an epipen but would really like to track down the food that caused me to go into shock. Has anyone had such a reaction to chives or green onions without being allergic to other foods in that family? Thanks for any help you can give me.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm currently on vacation and I was running out on my Alprazolam (Brand: Restyl SR) that I normally take and I met with a doctor here today and got a prescription for it. It's the Alprazolam XR (Greenstone brand). I've usually been taking 0.5 mg 3 times a day which is a 1.5 mg every day, and upon getting this I'm prescribed to take 0.5 mg 2 times a day, which brings it to a 1 mg.
Avatar m tn For a couple of years I started having this reaction to mangoes, where my lips burn and start to get crusty, and it has developed to that, my mouth gets itchy and dry, and my throat becomes raw. My aunt who used to be a RN gave me something called aclivor (both a pill and some kind of paste for my lips) which seemed to work for the first event. But lately, I've been running out of the paste and the only place I can find aclivor is on online pharmacies from Mexico.
Avatar f tn Took mine off at 20 weeks :(
Avatar f tn just as a warning, these type of allergies can cause more severe reactions the more you are exposed, so next time it happens it could be much worse. I would go to a doctor and get an epipen (spelling?). hopefully you will never need it, but it might save your life.
Avatar n tn So sorry to be late in responding- how are the bumps doing today? I wouldn't take an epi-pen for that, as long as you are freely breathing and it's just the rash you are seeing. It's very difficult to say for sure if this is an allergic reaction without a doctor being able to look at the issue and have a bit more of your medical history. If you have an epi-pen, I'd imagine you do have a known allergy issue with something?
Avatar m tn First of all when your MD returns you want to look into getting an epipen for your wife. Even if the reaction was as mild as hives the next time she could go into full antiphlactic shock. You have to be quite tender with allergies and your wife's advanced age could pose a complication. It sounds as though the flu shot and the medications that she is on may have had an adverse affect combined. You should speak with your pharmacist since your MD isn;t available.
