Epipen carriers for kids

Common Questions and Answers about Epipen carriers for kids

epipen

Avatar n tn I have some serious allergies and often they close my throat. I live 20 minutes from the nearest doctor or hospital. Until recently I always felt safe because I could use an epipen and that would give me time to get help. But now I have been diagnosed with about 8000 PVCs a day, and was told by another sufferer that I shouldn't use an epipen anymore, that it's not a good idea for those with PVCs.
Avatar f tn This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Avatar n tn Is Epipen available in India? If not, what is the alternative emergency treatment for anaphylactic shock commonly used?
Avatar f tn The guideline is 10 ul/ml. Is it safe for those without detectable antibody titers? As you know, 3 of my kids have no antibody - I have them gone through 3 shots again. Can we assume it is perfectly o.k with 3 shots at birth even w/o detectable antibody level now? I read some research but none clearly put down the antibody level.
Avatar f tn I have been researching carriers and the one most moms seem to like best after trying multiple wraps and carriers is the Ergo.
Avatar f tn Say if a direct relative has it the odds are 1 in 3 kids will have it. As a second generation it goes to 1 in 6 of your kids will have it and so forth and so on. When two carriers come together but are both very low odds you build it back up and your child needs to know this while with partners. Its confusing but not something to gjve yourself a heart attack over :) glad I could help!

Avatar f tn What kind of carriers do you have for ur baby.
Avatar f tn We have 4 carriers and the Ergo Baby feels best for my back. Tip, we found ours at Marshall's for way cheaper than the baby stores.
Avatar f tn Recently read an artical on the Pregant Chicken blog on facebook. That was about carriers. Or as they called them Crotch Danglers... well I'm wanting opinions. I have a wrap that goes from hip to shoulder to carry the baby in just on regular outings worh the family and have a stroller. But when I go to buy groceries I don't want to push stroller and buggy and rhe wrap I have seems like you have to hold the baby at all times.. and I refuse to out carsest on a shoping cart its dangerous.
Avatar f tn The other day my friend had a major asthma attack that almost sent him to the ER-- he thankfully had an epipen nearby. He thinks what triggered it was a laxative (sennosides in pill form) he took a couple of hours before. Is this even possible? And if so, should he be avoiding all things laxative? I wouldn't be asking these questions here, but he is too stubborn to go to a doctor like he should.
Avatar f tn For pollen, dog and cat hair try taking some antihistamine like Zyrtec (works well for me). For the food allergies, you just have to avoid them. Try Googling some gluten-free recipes.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
1194973 tn?1385503904 t say it works for breastfeeding. I am not sure what to recommend for that, except using a boppy pillow while seated....or one of those "my breast friend" things like the lady on 19 kids and counting uses. It straps around you and the kid lays on it while you feed.
Avatar f tn normally, you could go through you whole life and never meet another man who was a carrier. sickle cell carriers are healthy, but if two carriers have a baby, the baby has 25% chance of having sickle cell. the chances of cousins both being carriers is very high compared to two strangers both being carriers.
Avatar f tn even if both parents are carriers it's a 50 /50 chance in whether you baby will have cf... my sister and her husband have a child without cf and the other one has it but it's a lifestyle change for you and your child if it happens to have it by chance as i said it's a 50/50 chance.. don't wind your self up over it cause its just going to cause unnecessary stress for both you and the baby.
Avatar m tn Predicted life expectancy is 72 years for male carriers, compared to 79 years for non-carriers. Female carriers have a life expectancy of 81 years and non-carriers 83 years. This model probably applies to all southern Chinese populations and emigrants with similar life history, and other populations that acquired infection early in life. So, the study is limited in its scope but gives some idea.
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar f tn Get tested for allergies. It sounds like you have ingested or been exposed to something that is an allergen (to you). You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.

Avatar f tn Hi I am 32 years old bin meried for 12 years And have 3 helthy kids there are tretmants for you but no cure and your babyes shuld get shots after birth an they going to be fine
Avatar f tn Hepatitis b is very difficult for adults to get. I am yet to see a hepatitis b carrier who have infected the partner. I have been a hepatitis b carrier from birth but my wife never had it and we have 3 kids. Your wife can have a baby and the baby will not have hepatitis b. When the baby is born they need to give him/her the injection within 12 hours or so.
Avatar f tn It started only in the injection site. But now its in other areas for ex my chest it itched so bad that I noticed a bruise, which is un normal for me.
Avatar f tn I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.
Avatar n tn I have researched a whole bunch of slings and carriers... I'm leaving toward the Moby. What slings or carriers are y'all considering?
230262 tn?1316645934 d suggest you get a pediatric Epipen. Personally I keep 2 on hand. You should have 1 at school for him and one either in your purse or at home. He should have one available at all times. These allergies accelerate quickly. Check for dosage with your doctor, but you can also use benadryl for allergic reactions. I'm so sorry this happened to your children. These stings hurt horribly! And right now with school starting, you all have enough on your plate. Good luck at the clinic tonight.
Avatar n tn But according to my resource (a medical book for patients) it should happen in 4-8 weeks. Just keep going to the doctor for check-ups and be careful not to infect others (especially kids, they do not have such good cure chances as adults) in the meantime. Good luck!
