Epipen backpack

Common Questions and Answers about Epipen backpack

epipen

Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.

And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Avatar n tn ve used both and I love the backpack. We got a actual diaper backpack, but we should have gotten a regular backpack with a lot of pockets. I find that I run out of space and number two isn't even here yet! When number two comes around I'll probably sell this one and just use another one that I have.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar n tn My husband has had an internal cardiac defibrillator for a year now, without any problems at all. We are planning a 7-day hiking holiday, where he would be carrying a backpack weighing about 10kg. The backpack strap would be rubbing right over the defibrillator site and the doctor does not think this is a good idea. Has anybody heard of, or know of, any type of custom made backpack, which would avoid this strap rubbing?
Avatar f tn You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
Avatar m tn I was limited to two pounds the following year. In high school, I had someone provided by my school to help me carry my backpack. My mother believed that this slowed me down and didn't help me become independent since they would always baby me. By the end of high school, I was carrying my own backpack since it wasn't heavy, and I started commuting by myself again, a freedom I have waited for four years. However, I was worried that later on this will affect me in the future.
Avatar f tn I actually prefer a backpack, it's hands-free which means I can wear my little one in a front wrap carry, hold my preschooler's hand, and have an extra hand to push the grocery cart or take my car keys out of my pocket or even carry a cup of coffee with me if I want. When I just had one I used large totes from LL Bean or SeaBags (the SeaBags tote had more pockets, easier to organize, plenty of room for cloth diapers in both though).
973741 tn?1342342773 That would contain 4 diapers, wipes, a small towel for a changing pad, spit up rag, extra outfit, a bottle of water and a nonperishable snack for me. One section of the backpack was my purse. Wallet, pen, small make up bag, phone. If you're bottle feeding you'll need those supplies. The other smaller backpack is for a walk with the stroller from your home. Spit up rag, sun hat, bottle of water for me, transfer your phone from your excursion backpack just before you leave.
148588 tn?1465778809 Deputies looked into the backseat area and noticed gloves, a black bandanna and a backpack in the area where Moore was sitting. Brooks said Moore admitted that the backpack was his. Brooks said the deputy picked up the backpack and immediately located what appeared to be a semiautomatic handgun, which was lying underneath the backpack. On closer inspection they noticed that it was actually a BB gun, which Moore admitted was his.

Avatar f tn Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!
Avatar f tn Hi If walked with backpack in extreme heat.could that be a reason my sodium level.is.low 3 months later ?
Avatar f tn I like my Ergo Baby backpack - changing pad velcros right out when you need it and if I'm also using my Ergo carrier they can be carried together. Plenty of room for my cloth diapers, wetbag, clothes, snacks, and water cups for both of us - I didn't have it until my son was a little older but I think it'll work great for a newborn too. Backpack straps means both hands free which to me is essential.
20451547 tn?1498215245 I have been having panic attacks ever since early 2015 when I was first ever stang by a wasp and went into anaphylactic shock.(the er doctor said I am allergic to bees/wasps/hornets venom. 645800 tn?1466860955 With the talk of EpiPen in Michelle's post earlier today it got me thinking about my problem with needles and other self infecting skin damage devices. I am hoping that maybe someone will have some ideas or at least where to look for help with this. My problem isn't the normal fear of needles. I can get shot or blood drawn with no problems. Well except I have to be able to watch what is going on.If I can't see it happening I will pass out.
Avatar f tn I still need to get one lol
1201433 tn?1328997637 have you tried pesasys epipen and riba they say the effect i have not tried any meds yet but i am asking for the epipen
Avatar m tn I now carry an epipen but would really like to track down the food that caused me to go into shock. Has anyone had such a reaction to chives or green onions without being allergic to other foods in that family? Thanks for any help you can give me.
Avatar m tn For a couple of years I started having this reaction to mangoes, where my lips burn and start to get crusty, and it has developed to that, my mouth gets itchy and dry, and my throat becomes raw. My aunt who used to be a RN gave me something called aclivor (both a pill and some kind of paste for my lips) which seemed to work for the first event. But lately, I've been running out of the paste and the only place I can find aclivor is on online pharmacies from Mexico.
Avatar f tn so I do not have to worry about Herpes? I'm worried because I had back pain. That's what making me worry so much because I'm sure it's related to this case. After all the other symptoms were gone, I didn't experience back pain anymore. Although the doctor said it couldn't be herpes if there were no sores, I was puzzled when she said that my back pain could be from my using a backpack.
