Over the past few months I have been putting off major dental treatment as I had been finding I was having marked reactions to local anaesthetic -drop in BP, near sycope and increased heart rate -obviously made worse by anxiety as well! Even when the dentist tried different chemicals without adrenalin etc I was having unpleasant symptoms.
How have other people found they react to dental treatment and what ways have you found to cope?
m wondering with my heart problem how dangerous is it to get a dose of epinephrine and how will that affect my heart? I had an epinephrine dose in the early nineties due to a breathing problem, but that was before I was diagnosed with the mvp and atrial misfire.

Yes! Trams is a very synthetic U-Opioid Receptor Agonist and has a Serotonin releaser & a reuptake inhibitor of Nor-epinephrine. You most likely did over load the Brain Chems. I am usually over in the Substance Abuse community..There are lots of Bad things told over there about Trams.Please try to stay away from them because they can be one of the hardest meds to detox from..I wish you the Best..Maybe go to support groups on this depression. Drink Tons of Water to Flush this out.
I had to get stitches last night, and was given 5-6 shots of epinephrine and lidocane. I told the intake nurse I was taking synthroid (which I presume implies thyroid problems). I felt a little "unusual" afterward (pounding heart, feeling calm and detached..), and was googling the side effects of the shot.. an article said this:

Hi. I've been on these boards a long time. My last failed treatment had to fail because about 9 weeks into the treatment, I developed retinal hemmorhaging. Can someone give me either the symptoms or the timeline for an Ibuprofen overdose? And what's going to happen if I don't get treatment? I've taken approx. 40 200mg ibuprofen tablets, 32 hours ago.
So far I always got eye drops without epinephrine/or something equal to epinephrine, but this last eye doctor did not want to use any drops at all. He examined my eyes without dialating them.

It is a serotonin and nor epinephrine reuptake inhibitor. The name of the neurotransmitter is nor epinephrine it is different from epinephrine.
Most of the side effects occur during the period when one is taking the medication. But the important thing to remember is to follow the doctors instructions carefully. To reduce the incidence of side effects it is always started with a low dose and then it is gradually increased.
Can anyone here tell me if ms has any effect on either of the hormones epinephrine or norepinephrine?
