Avatar n tn I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage the day that I had a mole removed at my dermatologist. They used Epinephrine and Xylocaine and when we received the autopsy report it revealed that my baby was perfectly normal and healthy without chromosonal issues prior to him dieing in my womb that day. Has anyone experienced this or known anyone who has? I researched on the web and found many warnings about pregnant women receiving Lidocaine from the dentist but not what they gave me.

Avatar f tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis or allergic reaction to the chlorine in the swimming pool water. Treatment includes epinephrine, antihistamines, or cortisone-like drugs. Take some oral antihistaminic like Benadryl and apply calamine lotion. Itching can be controlled with cold packs or commercial topical agents that contain menthol, camphor, eucalyptus oil, aloe, antihistamines, or cortisone preparations.

Avatar f tn I had to get stitches last night, and was given 5-6 shots of epinephrine and lidocane. I told the intake nurse I was taking synthroid (which I presume implies thyroid problems). I felt a little "unusual" afterward (pounding heart, feeling calm and detached..), and was googling the side effects of the shot.. an article said this: "Additionally, epinephrine and lidocaine usually aren’t used in patients with thyroid disease, or disease of the kidneys or liver.
1047019 tn?1256719961 The dentist probably injected the novacaine directly into the vein instead of into the gum like they were supposed to. This happened to me 2 years ago and I seriously thought I was going to do. If it wasn't injected into your vein then you are probably just hypersensitive to it. Your allergy to wheat and gluten probably has nothing to do with the novacaine. "Local anesthetic cartridges contain two active ingredients: the actual anesthetic (which ends in -caine, e. g.
1639028 tn?1300617084 Hi, welcome to the forum, anaphylaxis is an emergency allergic reaction and is due to hypersensitivity reaction (type 1). Usually responsible allergen is known. 1305767 tn?1361192676 I had some teeth pulled today and the anxiety wasn't bad this time because they gave me nitrous but I learned they put epinephrine in the local anesthetic shots (it has something to do with helping the anesthetic last longer) So I'm thinking the epinephrine sends my anxiety level from like a six to a ten. Last November I had a tooth pulled and while the dentist was injecting the shot my heart rate got so high I almost passed out. They put a monitor on my finger and it was about 150!

Avatar f tn I had similar symptoms for years - the hot flashes, insomnia, mood swings, terrible periods and some weight gain. I kept telling my doctor I felt like I was heading towards menopause. The blood test always came back normal. Even up to a few months before my last period, I was sure menopause was just around the corner. The blood test said everything was normal. Sure enough, a few months after my annual exam, I had my final period. Everything has mellowed out and I feel wonderful.
Avatar f tn I don't know about epinephrine (looks like I must have had some - is it the stuff that makes the jaw numb?) , but I have had crown work and other serious work done, must have gotten some.. and since I had open heart surgery in 2007 I have been required to take (4) 500 mg capsules Amoxicillin 1 hour before dental work, even just cleaning. This is an antibiotic. I have never noticed any heart reaction to a dental visit, including root canal, which I am happy to report I have had only one.

Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Epinephrine is known to act on the uterus through beta 2 receptors and can cause relaxation of the uterus. At term, it can prevent the contraction and delay the labor.
