Epinephrine in nasal sprays

Common Questions and Answers about Epinephrine in nasal sprays

epipen

Avatar m tn Doctors say it is not because of the spray because so little is absorbed into the system through the nose, but I have read online that Beconase is absorbed more than other nasal sprays, (up to 44% of each dose is swallowed). I have seen numerous people reporting palpitations and other systemic effects across the internet after using Beconase and other brands (Nasonex, Flonase etc) of steroid nasal sprays. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar n tn Thanks for the info. It will be very helpful as to what I should ask when I see the doctor. I do believe he plans to do an allergy scratch test. You have described alot of symptoms I have. Sometimes I feel better after I go away from the scent and sometimes I don't. It does at times feel like alot of mucous in the back of my sinuses. Almost as if the smell made my sinuses react which in turn caused the fullness in my throat. Thank you for the helpful information.
Avatar n tn When the cold resolves, this problem should to. If not, you might want to get it checked out. In the meantime, try some nasal ointment (Ayr Gel, Ocean Gel, etc.), nasal saline sprays and keep well-hydrated.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if any of you on the site who have Hep C, who have ever had experience with using a prescription allergy medicine that is a nasal spray? I had taken Flonase in the past, never really cared for the backwash it has. But, I've been seeing an allergist because my allergies have really bothered me this year. He prescribed a medicine that is a nasal spray called Astelin.
Avatar m tn The post nasal drip is very thick and feels like its stuck in the back of my nose - if that makes any sense? It is thick and annoying to swallow and it causes bad breath. I have tried every nasal spray on the market, and my GP has prescribed me most drugs he knows of to help the situation. None of which have worked, or even remotely helped. Is there something i/my gp could have missed? Are there any drugs on the market that could reduce these symptoms or cure them?
Avatar n tn It utilizes a buffered hypertonic saline solution that helps reduce swollen and congested nasal and sinus tissues. Non-prescription nasal sprays can also be used frequently and are very convenient to use. Combinations of drugs are made up of one or more anti-allergy medications that help simplify dosing and often will work either together for even more benefit or have counteracting side-effects that eliminate or reduce total side-effects. You can also try allergy shots or Immunotherapy.
Avatar f tn You can also use some nasal decongestants but use them for a few days only.Corticosteroids nasal sprays can also be used. You can also use saline nasal sprays or steam inhalation at home.Another effective agent that is available by prescription is cromolyn sodium. In severe cases, Immunotherapy is advised. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
497572 tn?1209812815 Instead it seems the only answer is to spend a lot on nasal sprays in hopes to get some minor relief or have surgery every so often. I fail to see those as real solutions. There has to be a better way.....
Avatar n tn I also have had migrane with auras for about 10 years. They recently did an MRI and said that they found a lesion in the poly nasal cavity, and they are going to do a ct scan to get a better look at it. I'm not sure what a poly nasal cavity is, and what it means to have a lesion in it. I had a cat scan several years ago and there was no sign of a lesion then. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar m tn I had a friend who was addicted to nasal sprays and she did it one nostril at a time. It took about 2 weeks for her to do this and she is feeling good now and her nose is back to normal. She started out at 3 puffs a time and slowly cut back. Hope this helps a bit.
Avatar n tn Clean the nose using Physiological Spray Solution ( sea watter) Spray this in to the Nose , wait 1 min, vac the nose using s soft squise nasal pump if the child is not able to blow his nose. This spray is a physiological solution and can be used over a longer period of time, but be warned that it contains small amounts of salts. After the nose is clean you can use some of the children nasal sprays like 0.
Avatar m tn Anaerobic bacteria cannot survive in oxygenated environments. Try oxygenated mouth rinses, nasal sprays, and toothpastes. One brand to try is Therabreath.
Avatar n tn No i do not get any relief from the antihistamine medications or steroid nasal sprays if anythign sometimes i think the nasal sprays make it worse.
Avatar m tn t use anything like Allegra or Claritin, no sudafed or anything else with epinephrine, just Nasonex steroid nasal spray or saline (salt water) nasal sprays. You might want to ask your doctor if Nasonex would work for you. I tried taking Children's Sudafed just once and I did have more PVCs plus an increased heart rate. Are you still taking any allergy medications? If so, try stopping them.
Avatar m tn Deviated nasal septum, nasal polyps and tumors can also cause persistent nasal congestion. Worms in stool can raise the eosinophil count (a part of the white blood cell count) and thus increase the possibility of nasal congestion. You’ll have to discuss all these possibilities with your doctor. The nasal passages will have to be examined. Complete blood count and stool test may be required. You may need to get X-rays or CT scans too. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn ve been taking nasal steroid sprays and antihistamine sprays. I wonder if it is the persistent nasal condition and/or the ingredients in the nasal sprays that have permanently messed up my pharynx. I don't know if excipients (benzalkonium chloride-a preservative) or the medication (corticosteroids) have irritated the tissue or caused some bad sub-clinical infection over many years. Anyway, I HAVE seen doctors... brought this up to two...
988332 tn?1249902570 I would do this sooner rather than later.. Most nasal sprays work by constricting the blood vesels in and around your sinuses .. your red eyes, dark circles and headaches are a clear indicator that something is wrong! See your doc and explain. Any good doc will be understanding. Believe me, they have heard it all! Good luck and keep us posted.. I would be curios to hear the outcome.
Avatar n tn It can also be treated using an antihistamine nasal spray or saline nasal sprays. Symptoms can also be relieved by using a nasal spray that contains corticosteroids. But due to their side effects,it is better to use saline nasal sprays. The golden rule for chronic stuffy nose is steam inhalation. Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot (but not boiling water) may help to soften, and loosen, the build up of mucus in your nose.
Avatar n tn You can also use saline nasal sprays or steam inhalation at home. In severe cases, Immunotherapy is advised. If it doesn’t help you please visit to your physician. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
