Avatar m tn I have bee taking Beconase hayfever spray (a steroid nasal spray) for a month and began feeling the sensation of skipped heartbeats which tend to increase around my monthly cycle. I experienced them a few years ago, also at the time of taking the Beconase spray. It took several months after discontinuing the spray before they eventually disappeared. I am having the same symptoms this time.
Avatar n tn The coughing and clearing my throat to get a good breath could be helped by a nasal spray called NasalCrom from your local food store or drug store. That very well could stop your throat from reacting to the fumes. Also a nebulizer solution called Sodium Cromolyn should do it too. Sometimes the nasal spray is easier since when you sniff it up it will drain down your throat on to the area around your vocal chords to stop some of that mucus that you might be choking on.
Avatar f tn The only thing that allows me to breathe is a nasal spray equivalent to afrin. I used to be addicted yrs ago but now I only use it in dire emergency....like before eating or bed because I can't sleep if I can't breathe through my nose. In the past 3 days I've only used it at night and a couple other times during the day when it was really bad! I try to hold off as long as possible without using it. And I only use 1 or 2 sprays and usually only in 1 nostril.
Avatar n tn I just read a terrifying article about pregnant women using nasal spray in their first 3 months of pregnancy. It said it cause heart and stomach defects. I used it off and on almost my entire first 6 weeks before I found out I was pregnant. Anybody else out there know anything?

Avatar n tn I have j been to an ENT for my sinus problem (i.e addiction to nasal spray and nose blockage. He had given me antibiotics (course is over) . He has also given me flixonase (fluticasone propionate) nasal spray, a solophar mouth/throat spray (Dequalinium chloride '0.015gm, benzalkonium chloride 0.035gm, alcohol 6% by volume) and Fexet (Fexofenadine:120mg) to have for one month. Avatar f tn The way I got rid of using nasal spray is to dilute the nasal spray 10% per week by using water or salt water. Continue use the diluted nasal spray, your nose will not noticed the difference. by the time (after 8 weeks) you get to 80% water, then you can cut it all off. There is a company sale this kind of diluted nasal spray solutions, but you can easily open the bottle and mix it with water yourself.
Avatar n tn So you need to spray it up the nose and breath in to get it up there. I only spray 1 nostril since I need it to drip down my throat where my mucus is produced. My nose is always mucus free. The the nasal spray finds its way from my nose to drip down my throat. Works FANTASTIC for that. More options. I would do all this before going for Xrays and CT scans.
Avatar n tn It works by constricting (shrinking) blood vessels (veins and arteries) in your body. The nasal formulation acts directly on the blood vessels in your nasal tissues. Constriction of the blood vessels in your nose and sinuses leads to drainage of these areas and a decrease in congestion. One of its side effect may be elevation of blood pressure and an irregular or fast heartbeat.
Avatar n tn My doctor has me taking the Hcg nasal spray, instead of the Hcg shots. Have any of you used the Hcg nasal spray? Should I have any concerns? Oh, and any advice before I start? Thanks and have a great day!

Avatar f tn Hi JanetteD, I'll start off my comments by saying I don't know what you're dealing with so I can't tell you if you have Sjogren's Syndrome. What I can tell you is that it's not called my nasal, it's called your nostril. Perhaps someone else in this forum can help you figure out what condition you're dealing with. Have you ever discussed these symptoms with your family doctor ?
Avatar m tn but for the past 1 year i am not really compliant to the nasal spray treatment because i always forgot to take it. So is the past 1 year of my nasal spray considered a risk for cataract and glaucoma?
Avatar f tn Hi, I am not oneof the experts on this forum, but I have some ideas. You may prefer the NeilMed Sinus Rinse bottle over the netti pot. I find the netti pot akward to use, but the bottle is quite easy. You can find the bottle in just about any pharmacy. I use 1/4 tsp non-iodized salt (pickling salt) in 8 oz of water. Some people like to mix in a pinch of baking soda. It is best to use distilled water. There are some homeopathic nasal sprays that you can ask your pharmacist about.
Avatar n tn Clean the nose using Physiological Spray Solution ( sea watter) Spray this in to the Nose , wait 1 min, vac the nose using s soft squise nasal pump if the child is not able to blow his nose. This spray is a physiological solution and can be used over a longer period of time, but be warned that it contains small amounts of salts. After the nose is clean you can use some of the children nasal sprays like 0.
910524 tn?1288273614 My doctor gave me a sample of omnaris and it worked really well. I only ever did one spray in each nostril and it was enough for me. Then in October 2010 I became pregnant. After my doctor told me it was safe to continue with the spray and some of my own research I did continue the spray. It was still working well. So I thought. Of course my allergies got more aggravated because of my pregnancy and I developed this dry hacking cough and 8 months later am still coughing.
9905230 tn?1409232795 You also may use a saline nasal spray, such as Ocean or Nasal. Do not use Neosynephrine nasal spray for longer than 3 days. You may take Robitussin DM for coughs or chest congestion. A warm salt-water gargle is recommended for a sore throat. Throat drops, spray, or lozenges are acceptable. A cool air vaporizer may help you sleep at night. Increased fluid intake and getting sufficient rest are essential. If your nasal or throat drainage changes from a clear color, please call the office.

Avatar f tn My question is this I used to be prescribed a medication called stadol nasal spray and it worked for me but I was prescribed four bottles a month and still had days with migraines I couldn't handle and had to go to the emergency room for them to break with IV dilaudid or demerol 2mg of dilaudid or 100 mg; of demerol would bring the pain level down, my migraines have always been considered migraines but my medical records indicate that I had a brain anyersm after my daughters birth that burst
Avatar m tn I have tracked food, activity, medicines, seasons, etc., but there is no pattern. The only thing that works is to visit my dermatologist each week to get each injected with 2-4mm of mixture (46mg xylocaine 2% without epinephrine + 4cc Kenalog 40mg) I am currently on Ziana, Altabax on cysts, Clindamycin pads, wash face with cetaphil. I have tried seb wash, differin, clindamycin 1%/benzoyl peroxide 5% gel, erythromycin, xolegel, epiduo, triaz. Cysts in the past have been biopsied (negative).
Avatar n tn My Dr recommended saline nasal spray.
Avatar n tn My father had a brain tumor removed and now has to take a nasal spray called Desmopressin. His endocranologist only wants him to use it one time a day, but the problem is he goes to the bathroom sometimes every 15 minutes!!!! He is also on 1/2 mg of Dexamethasone and that's part of the problem. Sometimes he takes two puffs a day but the doctor doesn't want him to do that daily.
Avatar n tn If you just stop using the nasal spray, you will go through a period of about 24 to 36 hours where your nose will be almost completely blocked up from the mucous membranes swelling with rebound swelling, but if you can tolerate that 24 to 36 hours, then the swelling subsides, and within a couple of days you will be breathing normally without the spray.
612551 tn?1450022175 As far as the other stuff goes I have decided that simple saline nasal spray works as well as any, and in the winter dry air also helps moisturize the nasal tissue. I was in to an ENT doctor yesterday as a followup on a serious nose bleed I had a few weeks earlier.
