Epinephrine for tracheal bleeding

Common Questions and Answers about Epinephrine for tracheal bleeding

epipen

Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Epinephrine is known to act on the uterus through beta 2 receptors and can cause relaxation of the uterus. At term, it can prevent the contraction and delay the labor.
Avatar m tn I would recommend you take your dog in for an examination by your veterinarian. If your dog is suffering from tracheal collapse, she would likely benefit from surgery -- either trachael ring or, depending on the severity, tracheal stent. In any case, the place to start is definitely with a checkup to diagnose your pet's problem. Good luck, and let us know what you find out.
Avatar f tn In my experience, the anesthetic without epinephrine is shorter acting, but it's been plenty for me for fillings and if it wears off, they can just give you another shot, no problem. I wouldn't worry about that at all.
Avatar m tn Is it standard procedure to use Synthroid on normal TSH, + or - hyper/hypo levels. What is considered normal ranges for prescribing synthroid for an enlarged thyroid.
Avatar f tn what can you do for tracheal collapse in humans. I have had a bronchoscopy and it showed a tracheal collapse when I have an asthma attack.
Avatar m tn I have ME/CFS and I hadnt seen the online warnings that for those of us with ME, anethestics with the epinephrine in them can be very bad and best avoided for those of us with this, so I found this out the hard way. I didnt have any other pain relief except this lidocaine injection so my reaction was certainly from that. It caused me to have a near seizure or a seizure. My legs started majorly jerking, I started twitching all over.
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago I had a chest CT scan because I thought I had aspirated water when drinking. The CT scan came back clear but in the report it said there was “small tracheal diverticulum at the thoracic inlet”. I am really worried about this because I fear I may have caused this to myself. You see when I was drinking the water I became hyper aware about drinking and breathing at the same time. It felt like I tried to do both at the same time and forced my trachea open.
Avatar f tn I went when I was 8weeks and im 24 weeks now and need to go again. Its the same as all dental appointments. Just ask for an extra xray vest if u get xrays and also they have something thats like novacain idk how to spell it. Anyway ask for that, it doesnt have something in it that novacain does that makes that babys heart beat faster.
Avatar f tn I had to get stitches last night, and was given 5-6 shots of epinephrine and lidocane. I told the intake nurse I was taking synthroid (which I presume implies thyroid problems). I felt a little "unusual" afterward (pounding heart, feeling calm and detached..), and was googling the side effects of the shot.. an article said this: "Additionally, epinephrine and lidocaine usually aren’t used in patients with thyroid disease, or disease of the kidneys or liver.
Avatar f tn ct scan with enlarged para-aortic lymph node and para-tracheal lymph node. 2 ultrasounds, both which show hypoechoic nodules with internal vascularity, 2nd ultrasound reading used other language .... "lesions, structure" etc...my WBC has been ranging 12.2- 25 with high lymphs and Grans, on and off. Proteinuria, low creatine, elevated ld-5. Still waiting on "tumor markers" ( other labs) ....ionized calcium 6.6.., Do these issues seem related?
Avatar f tn Hi, I had a emergency right hemi-colectomy after my colon was punctured during a colonoscopy. I was in surgery for 3 hours. Before my surgery, my asthma was under control and I could run for 25-30 minutes. Now, 2 months later, breathing is awful. My chest feels tight. I am not wheezing and do not feel I need my inhaler but I can not run for more than 2 minutes without being short of breath. If I do use the inhaler, it does not seem to change anything.
Avatar n tn There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Epinephrine is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Avatar f tn Your employer that sent you to that patient's house will have a protocol in place for this kind of situation. You'll need to contact them for a recommendation on next steps. I'm sure it's no risk but you need to report it because that's what you're supposed to do in these situations.
Avatar f tn Syncope is most commonly caused by heart disease, but, tracheal collapse is also a strong possibility. These are the most likely causes of your dog's problem since your dog routinely coughs prior to the episode. Cough is common in both tracheal collapse and heart disease. Seizures can be caused by brain tumors, chemical or toxin exposure, infectious agents that affect the brain, head trauma, and others. There is also idiopathic seizures, but these are usually seen in younger dogs.
Avatar m tn The side effects stated are for the duration for the prescription period or are they long lasting ?. my doctor has recommended that i take it for 6 months (pardon me for asking such questions as i am curious to know as much as possible before i start the medication.thanks again for your time.
Avatar f tn So far I always got eye drops without epinephrine/or something equal to epinephrine, but this last eye doctor did not want to use any drops at all. He examined my eyes without dialating them.
Avatar f tn Hi I am confused on whether I should see an ent surgeon or just leave it and watch. I was recently diagnosed with hashimoto's, blood test and biopsy confirmed this. I have a large dominant solid vascular nodule on the right, it measures 3.6 x 2.8 x 2.2 cm and my total thyroid on the right measures 7.2 x 3.4 x 4.
Avatar m tn Especially epinephrien. I have asthma and took primatene mist which is bad for people with asthma and it has epinephrine in it. I did abuse this medicine and I think maybe it caused some of the problems I have.
1047019 tn?1256719961 More than likely you didn't have an allergic reaction, it's so rare for that to happen. The dentist probably injected the novacaine directly into the vein instead of into the gum like they were supposed to. This happened to me 2 years ago and I seriously thought I was going to do. If it wasn't injected into your vein then you are probably just hypersensitive to it. Your allergy to wheat and gluten probably has nothing to do with the novacaine.
Avatar n tn shitzu has had episodes where she wakes me during the night and is wretching, coughing, choking, gagging. this goes on for several minutes and has me quite concerned. it has also happened during the day. should i be concernedand what can i do?
Avatar f tn re at the dentist and you need/want an anesthetic ask for one WITHOUT epinephrine. The medication generally takes a little longer to "kick in" and wears off faster, but your dentist will work with you for maximum comfort.
Avatar f tn husband has had low cortisol but works nights so dr does not think it is low because days and nights reversed although has ordered cortisol 1 hour after he wakes. Dr ordered 24 hour urine for catecholamines in July and December. both times epinephrine NE <5 &<6 below clinical reportable range.
Avatar n tn Epinephrine is basically like adrenaline and for an adregenic afibber such as my self it is a definate no-no. I even have to ask for the Epi free form of novacaine at the dentist office. I would definately see a Dr and tell him my contidions and see what they say. De sure to tell him about your MVP.
