Avatar f tn Have you had your thyroid and those adrenal hormones: epinephrine, norepinephrine, metanephrine and normetanephrine levels checked? Do you have any additional symptoms that you think might be unrelated to menopause, such as shortness of breath with exertion?

Avatar n tn I had allergy to water for more than 3 years. My symptoms are itching and redness on only my legs, even though the water touches my full body. I've went to government doctors and they told me to use oil on the legs. It was working until few days back when even the oil doesnt stop the itching. I used to use a low power allergy pill which now doesnt work either. the itchiness drives me mad and i itch my skin like im tearing them of.
Avatar f tn I feel king of dumb asking this, but has anyone here had an allergic reaction to bees that comes back hours later? After getting stung by bees I usually have about a 20-30 minute "window" to get to my epi shot and benedryl -my reaction is unusual in that I get dizzy, my blood pressure crashes, and my throat and chest get really tight. -No rashes or redness...

Avatar f tn Am sorry to say, but your son has food allergies. What is important is you must find out what is causing this allergy. Many fruits, wheat, sea food, coloring agents, preservatives in food etc cause food allergy. There are various tests designed to test for food allergy. You need to take those tests for your son. Make a complete list of things that cause allergies and avoid them. Avoid buying things like tinned and processed food that have those ingredients—check all labels before buying.
Avatar n tn It can be either irritation which can irritate, irritation which can trigger asthma or allergy. Can even be all 3. Irritation can also cause your vocal chords to tighten as they become irritated kind of like when you get something in your eye you feel the urge to close your eye lid. That will restrict breathing too. My asthma is trigged by some perfumes that smell like a powder scent and fabric softener. My inhaler helps.
Avatar f tn I have had hives for a day & a half. I would like to know if this could be related to nerves. I don't have any food allergies. I went to the doctor yesterday, she gave me a shot of Epinephrine. That helped for a couple of hours. I have been taking benadryl every 6 hours & putting blue star ointment on. Before I got the shot my mouth was swelling and I almost lost my voice. Please, let me know what to do.
Avatar m tn ve tried tracking it as a seasonal allergy or a food allergy, and have yet to find any link to specific triggers. My ENT seems at a loss. He gave me a cortizone shot for the pain in my neck/ears, but it seems like it's treating the symptom, not the cause. We did a throat culture that came back negative. I started taking allergy shots a few months back, but I'm not sure if they're helping.
Avatar f tn I am glad to hear that your symptoms are easing. It sounds like an allergy to me too. I have a skin allergy that acts up every 4 or 5 years. My allergist treats in generically. He says as long as it responds to treatment we really don't have to worry about just what it is unless it would not respond and/or it caused additional issues.. Testing is very expensive and detailed as well as time consuming. So I agree with him.
1666434 tn?1325262350 Then about 2 weeks ago I go to the dentist and have an immediate reaction to Septocaine which contains epinephrine which has Sulfites in it, grrrr. Do I need a medical alert bracelet or necklace?
338416 tn?1420045702 So I've noticed something interesting since I stopped taking Copaxone. Last year, while I was taking Copaxone, I would have the worst time with injury. If I bit my tongue on the side, it swelled up. If the dog managed to whack me on the lip, that would swell up too. Mosquito bites were the worst - the area would swell up and hurt. The swelling was all out of proportion to the injury. The doctor said it was angioedema, caused by injury, but couldn't find a cause.
Avatar n tn I'm just reading this, it's several years later obviously but your situation sounds very familiar. I suffered for 10 yrs. With similar symptoms. I saw so many doctors and tried so many medicines until finally an Allergist specialist diagnosed me with environmental allergies after doing a fully allergy test. I was pretty much allergic to everything. I was Soo. After started on 4 allergy shots every 5 days.
Avatar n tn Next time I went to a different eye doctor and she suggested I may have an allergy to epinephrine. Actually, I later found out my mother has an allergy to epinephrine. The doctor was able to take pictures of my eyes which are apparently a decent alternative to dilation.
Avatar f tn I had to get stitches last night, and was given 5-6 shots of epinephrine and lidocane. I told the intake nurse I was taking synthroid (which I presume implies thyroid problems). I felt a little "unusual" afterward (pounding heart, feeling calm and detached..), and was googling the side effects of the shot.. an article said this: "Additionally, epinephrine and lidocaine usually aren’t used in patients with thyroid disease, or disease of the kidneys or liver.
Avatar f tn When I was tested, the allergy doctor had to pull me out of the testing room and give me a shot of epinephrine because I was having such a sever reaction. I also got 2.5 years of shots, one in each arm, every week and it did NOTHING. The only relief I get is when winter returns. If I rinse my eyes out with cold water and apply a cold rag compress, it gives some relief. That's not so awesome when you wear makeup.
Avatar f tn The doctor's office called to tell me that my blood work for latex allergy came back positive. Currently my only reaction is contact dermititis--and it doesn't happen every time--over time will this reaction likely get worse? I work in healthcare.
634213 tn?1222630432 I do not know about milk. Reading labels is cheaper than allergy testing. When someone toldme about soy allergy, my health improved 50%. I have allergy testing, but not for food. You could avoid all soy products, preservatives, and drink organic coffee and tea. Read the label on vanilla ice cream or give this up and give upmilk. canned goods, vinegar. Spicy often contains soy oil. In restaurants, ask if soy is used.
Avatar n tn I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage the day that I had a mole removed at my dermatologist. They used Epinephrine and Xylocaine and when we received the autopsy report it revealed that my baby was perfectly normal and healthy without chromosonal issues prior to him dieing in my womb that day. Has anyone experienced this or known anyone who has? I researched on the web and found many warnings about pregnant women receiving Lidocaine from the dentist but not what they gave me.
