Avatar n tn Was I rushed and should I see a dermatologist? I also have a sore, enlarged lymph node on the right side of my neck. He had me turn my head to the right so it was sunken in and then felt it and said it was not enlarged... I know it's enlarged. When my neck is upright, it sticks out and is sore. Second opinion needed?
Avatar f tn my daughter is 4 weeks old and has a lump on her neck by her lymph nodes they dont know what it is and say it can be cancer has anyone delt with anything like this please help im going crazy
Avatar n tn This has become more frequent the last year or so. My right lymph node on my neck is swollen. Definitely a positive lymph node on the neck. I used to be able to recall peoples names very well, and now I am getting really bad about it. A few weeks ago, I must have had a virus because I had a low grade fever for a good 2 to 3 weeks. I admit that I don't drink enough water, but I used to be soo active (gym, study without problem, functioned on minimal sleep, etc.
Avatar n tn My only symptom was this one lymph node, very very very swollen, and it was pretty painful. The biopsy came back cancer free. The discomfort in my neck never went away, and has now spread to my right lymph node. I can't really tell if it is swollen, because I have nothing to compare it to. The discomfort comes and goes but in sharp spurts. Pre-surgery the only thing that showed in the CT scan was the swollen lymph node which was then promptly removed. What could this be!
Avatar f tn Turns our the lump (2.5 cm) is a lymph node on the right side of neck so the cancer has spread. I am having surgery Sept. 9th for a TT and neck dissection to remove some lymph nodes too. What are the chances of the cancer turning up somewhere else since we dont know how long it has been haning out in my lyphnatic system? It seems uncommon for it to spread to lungs, liver or bones but can it happen? planning on doing the radioactive iodine treatment 5-6 wks after surgery.
Avatar m tn Now two weeks later node is still a little swollen and that side of my neck is tender, I have been rubbing the node to monitor it's size and it was not grown any in the last two weeks, I'm very nervous about this, please advise
795097 tn?1237217195 the second ultrasound showed that the cyst had increased in size measuring about 6mm x 11mm, and then a third ultrasound was done in august and the result came back as a sebaceous/ epidermoid cyst measuring about 14mm x 8mm, continue to monitor. My doctor told me the cyst is in a very dangerous part of the neck and with the jugular vein and carotid artery and some vital nerves, and so will not advice an excision of the cyst.
Avatar f tn Hello, There are two possibilities for your symptoms. It can be a sebaceous cyst. A sebaceous (or epidermoid) cyst is a noncancerous swelling under the skin. It is lined by packed outer skin cells. The cyst itself is filled with oil or dead cells. Under certain conditions such as stress, increased activity, mechanical irritation, diabetes, or other concurrent illness these cysts may enlarge and become somewhat tender.Application of warm compresses and antibiotics if infected can be helpful.
Avatar f tn If it is a lymph node from an infected tooth, usually the tooth and the lymph node will be painful, It can be a swollen lymph node from a serious condition such as lymphoma, a type of cancer. So please get this checked out.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed and with an epidermoid cyst on my neck. The PA injected a steroid to try and shrink it. The cyst never went away and appeared to stay large weeks after. I agreed to have surgical incision since it was on my neck above my Adam's apple and affected my swallowing/appearance. When they opened it up they realized it was ruptured inside. They cleaned it out the best they could and electro-cauterized remaining tissue that wouldn't come loose.
Avatar f tn ll have a surgical biopsy wherein the entire neck node is cut out and examined by a pathologist. It turns out to be lucky that you cut yourself, because that ended up revealing that some kind of underlying condition is present. --------------------------------- Of all the possibilities, what seems most likely is that you have some type of 'lymphoproliferative disorder'.
Avatar n tn If you had cancer in the past and the lymph node showed up on your neck.. wouldnt you see an Oncologist? Could be a recurrence from the original cancer?
Avatar f tn Three years ago an US revealed a cervical lymph node positive for thyroid cancer recurrence. Had a radical neck dissection on that side of the neck in 2014 and only one lymph node was cancerous. In July, an US revealed another papillary thyroid cancer positive lymph node on the other side of my neck. Was referred to an endocrine surgeon who said I have "persistent disease" not a recurrence.
Avatar m tn But my stomach cry too much though.do i have stomach cancer? Every body say virchows node is 100%cancer. What i have too do. I m scared.
Avatar m tn Dear Expert, I have been experiencing intense pain periodically in my scalp accompanied by hair loss for about 15 years now. There is also a swollen lymph node behind my ears and of the back of my head that started about the same time this painful hair loss started. The pain is incisive and feels local to the scalp and underneath when inflamed.
Avatar f tn I am seeing a Head and neck Surgeon because my ENT Dr wants me to get a biopsy on my vocal cord mass, well not even sure if it is a mass, she just said I had something on my left vocal cord that looks to her could be cancer. For the last five days since seeing my ENT Dr, my neck node is swollen and firm, and not painful and I am worried that if I do have vocal cord cancer of some sort, that it has spread to the lymph nodes and what that might mean?
Avatar f tn the node above the collarbone being *not* hard tends a lot against a metastatic cancer that spread from somewhere inside the chest or abdomen. But the neck node being over 2cm is not good, since a neck node can't typically get that large except from cancer... EXCEPT from some circumstances. Tuberculosis can result in very large nodes, without there being cancer. Also, an affected node being above the collarbone and also in the neck can be consistent with tuberculosis.
Avatar m tn Hello, im 23 years old, male, in generally good health, but for about the last 2 weeks or so I have noticed one large swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck underneath my jaw, around the submandibular gland. I don't think it was there before then but it was pretty large when I finally noticed it and this gave me concern.
Avatar n tn Thank you, Is it true that if the node is at the base of your neck it is more likely to be cancer?
Avatar f tn I am 23 years old and there has been a lymph node in my neck just below the jaw line that has been enlarged for months or maybe even longer. It is really worrying me. It seemed to have went down a bit a few weeks ago but now it's back to it's enlarged size. A while ago, I got an ultrasound on the enlarged node and they said it didn't look too concerning. They said that my body just might be fighting an infection that I don't know about.
Avatar m tn Hi, This could possibly be an epidermoid cyst and not any cancer/tumor. I’ll suggest an examination by a urologist and an ultrasound of the scrotum for the confirmation of the diagnosis. The treatment is by surgical excision of the cyst. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn I had a small knot on the lower left side of my neck. Doctors kept telling me not to worry was probably a swollen lymph node. After both of my parents & all my grandparents dying of cancer, I insisted my doctor check it out. You guessed it....thyroid cancer. Ten years I had this knot & doctors kept blowing it off. Had to have my thyroid & 22 lymph nodes, of which 7 were malignate removed.
Avatar m tn i have a same size lymph node on the left side of my neck some centimeter under the ear but it never grows it just stays 1mm in size...i showed it to my physician and he said that its nothing,my question is that why does it not go away...i have no lump inside my throat,im 21 male...although sometimes my voice gets hoarse and i do feel that something is growing in my throat, but when i swallow i feel nothing,i go to the doctor he looked inside till my adams apple and said its nothing...
Avatar m tn Hi, I think you should look at it overall in this way: if there were very strong indications of cancer, then you'd probably be rushed in for an excisional biopsy - i.e.. cutting you open and removing the whole node. But aside from that, things are suspicious enough to warrant further investigation. A fatty hilum almost always means the node is not cancerous, but lack thereof does not necessarily mean that the cause is cancer.
