She put me on Asacol for about a month, no change, then finally we got to the Entocort EC. It has changed my life! I am normal again. The medicine took effect within 2 weeks, a drastic change in everything. I have been on it for 6 weeks now and today is my first taper off day. I am going to go down to 2 pills a day (6 mg) from the original dose of 9 mg. I will work towards 1 pill and then off.

i am on entocort 3mg 2capsules a day. my liver enzymes were at 649 been on this drug for a month enzymes down to 169 dr. wants to put me on immuran 50mg with the entocort. does this sound good what side of effects can i expect?and what does this help?

my husband was diagnosed with crohns disease and ulcerative colitis about 7 years ago. this stuff is no picnic, even living with someone who has it. we've been through so many different meds, methods, natural, organic, etc. the one thing that worked best for him was prednizone. it made him gain weight, but it took a lot of the pain away. don't eat too much fiber as it can irritate the intestines. its a balancing act. find the right diet, and meds, and hopefully it gets better.

t know if this helps or not but my Gastro doc prescribed Entocort and Nexium to me. I also took Flagyl the first few weeks. That was an antibiotic. The Entocort is a steroid to help with the inflamation and ulcers and obviously the Nexium is for excess stomach acid. I guess it's working. I've been taking them for a few months now. They are still trying to figure out if I really have Crohns or not. If so, I guess I have a fairly mild form of it.

My Crohn's has always been upper track, especially in the stomach. I am unsure if I may be pregnant, I had sex and contraception failed, so got emergency contraception within 14 hours. About 13 years ago I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis and took Entocort for about 4 years and am still taking Cell Cept. I did have an ultrasound on my thyroid in 2018 and no changes. I moved in 2019 and no longer have an endocrinologist. So, all the changes probably started around 2019. I I do have bloodwork. Everything was in normal range.
