Avatar n tn Abdominal pain, back pain, dizziness, fatigue, gas, headache, indigestion, nausea, pain, respiratory infection, vomiting Grapefruit juice can increase the amount of Entocort EC in your blood stream. Do not drink grapefruit juice during your course of therapy with Entocort EC.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Emergency contraception is almost 80-85% effective if taken between 24-48 hours and 50-55% effective if taken between 48-72 hours.Headache, dizziness, breast tenderness and vaginal bleeding are the common side effects of taking emergency contraceptive pills. A few women may experience light bleeding in the days after taking Postinor-2. This is not a normal period and is nothing to worry about. If the bleeding is persistent or severe consult a gynecologist. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn t have any of the side-effects that are associated with drugs like prednisone, but most on Entocort find that the side-effects are much, much less and that the normal endocrine/cortisol system kicks back in earlier without the 'step-down' effect of prednisone. Can't say it's 100% perfect, but Entocort - if it works for you - is a great alternative. You're going to have to watch that stomach ulcer, though.
Avatar n tn Doctor has suggested that the only possible medication is immediate Steroids and Azathioprine therapy. As explained by doctor, steroids therapy can cause various side effects which may lead to different complication during and post therapy. We are unable to decide whether we should go for Steroid Therapy. We are looking for following: - Whether the case is a confirmed case of Autoimmune Hepatitis. If any doubt, what are the tests to be done for final confirmation.
Avatar f tn s messed up because you took multiple doses of the emergency contraceptive. If you check out the side effects from it it tells you what it can do. The side effects include (but are not limited to) nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, abdominal cramping, headache, backache, spotting, irregular bleeding, and your cycle could come earlier/later than normal and be heavier/lighter than normal.
1129232 tn?1360800358 anyone taking progesterone suppositiories get side effects? i was fine the first couple of days but now i'm feeling lethargic, extreme fatigue, always hungry and a little bit of off and on nausea. AT first i was thinking - could this be pregnancy symptoms already but i think it's probably from the progesterone. UGH! this is awful.
Avatar n tn i took it to be on the safe side also recommended by a nurse that i take it to be sure, but i am getting ovulation pains that i would get every month, although im pretty sure they ARE ovulation pains im not 100% certain. just wanted to be sure as i took EC on the 14th day of my cycle and i thought it was suppost to delay ovulation.
456090 tn?1259694837 I have been on 500mg 4x a day for the past 4 years. it worked really well for a while, but now it is not. I have been on Entocort for about a month now and it seems to be helping since my last flare up. I also just started taking Cipro which is an antibiotic so well see what happenes.
Avatar n tn I really don't think there are any contraceptives without side effects other than abstinence and condoms. I've been on 3 different forms of birth control in my life and all have their own side effects, but unless you're really sensitive, none are that bad.
Avatar f tn Hi! Yes, the morning after pill has plenty of side effects. Emergency contraceptives are a big dose of hormones which is how they work. But then those hormones are in her system and her body has to deal with them. Irregular bleeding for 2 to 3 moths is to be expected. She can take a pregnancy test to make sure she isn't pregnant but this sounds like normal EC side effects to me.
Avatar m tn Wait at least two weeks and test with first morning urine. Keep in mind the side effects caused by EC as well. These can included spotting, a more light/heavy period, missed period, abdominal pain, cramping, sore breasts and fatigue. Also, unless you know this person well and know 150% they're clean, it wouldn't hurt to make sure they don't have any STDs.
Avatar n tn Immediatedly after that i took an Emergency contraceptive pill, i didnt have any side effects of it but after a week or two, my periods started again, they ha occured in the starting of the month, i also suffer from PCO. Problem is am going for an ultrasound and blood test tomorrow,nd am afraid if am pregnant.. i dont want my parents to know, second which i fear is that if i have traces of contraceptive pill found in my blood sample , it could create a problem for me.
Avatar f tn Could I be pregnant or could these be side effects? has anyone had negative tests and still turning out to be pregnant?
874116 tn?1240368959 You should never use EC the way you did. Its meant for emergencies....like a condom breaking or if you found yourself unexpectedly having intercourse you did not plan on. If you want a break from the pill in the future, use contraceptive foam and condoms. Never use EC. Its not 100% effective--more like 60-70%, depending on when and how you take it. If you keep taking it as you were doing, you're bound to end up pregnant at some point.
Avatar m tn Emergency contraception pills are around 98-99% effective if taken within the first day. So she should be fine. I will warn you, and have you warn her, they can have nasty side effects. Don't be alarmed if she has cramps, nausea, dizziness, headaches, bloating, fatigue, bowel irregularities, is late on her period, spots randomly, has an excessively long period, or has appetite change.
1072653 tn?1255791843 however I am wondering if there is anyone else that is using these drugs also and what are you experiencing, as to side effects? test results ? how long have you been on them? and have you tried other drugs?
Avatar n tn I had no troublesome side effects. However, after a right hemi-colectomy (resection of the last part of my small intestine, the ileo-caecal valve and 1st part of the colon) my mtx was stopped for about 9 months. I then had a severe flare with a dangerously high level of C-reactive protein. This was 270 when the norm is 5 or less. My gastro restarted the mtx, 25 mg weekly, and for the first time, introduced infliximab on the 0-2-4-8 weekly protocol.
501944 tn?1224056021 My gastro said he has never known anyone tolerate methotrexate for 7 years without serious liver side effects, but guess I have always confounded general medical issues - didn't "present" normally with Crohn's - no pain, just severe diarrhea and weight loss, and when I got breast cancer 5 yrs ago, I had no palpable lump. It was found on a regular 3 yrly mammo, which is all we get here in England with our socialised health service.
Avatar n tn Prednisone can cause acne. I had UC for ten years until I perforated and had my colon removed and a J-pouch built 16 years ago. My son has UC and moved onto the Imuran last year. He did have some acne with the prednisone too. He has been in a wonderful remission this past year and is so enjoying feeling healthy. The only change he continues to make is to leave dairy alone as he realizes he is lacto intolerant. I hope you will get the same success.
Avatar f tn I hate them and havnt used them in over 5 years but they always did make me feel a little better crohns wise but the side effects were horrible, did they do a colonoscopy ?if so what about a biopsy? that can usually confirm crohns or ulcerative colitis, I use to get all your symptoms but i also know people personally who have those symptoms because of food alergies, ever been tested for those? how is your weight? why dont you eat? what meds are you on? sorry for all the ?
Avatar n tn will it have any side effects or any kind of impact later? is dere any other method of pregnancy tests coz i dont want to go out of the room? as 36+ hrs hav been passed away n If i want to take the morning after pill doze, should i take both of them together or acc. to its schedule? is it risky to take pill at this age? and if suppose m not pregnant n i take d pill doze what will it do..will dere be any kind of risk? Avatar f tn Can i get pregnant? Do i have to take the emergency pill?
Avatar m tn EC can cause a few problems in a female, and usually will completely mess her cycle up. It's not a surprise that she missed hers. One of the side effects is irregular bleeding. It's not likely she would be pregnant, and there was no need for the pill she took--it's likely caused more harm than it did good. I personally would not worry about it. In the future, make sure you're using condoms anytime you decide to have any sexual acts or abstain completely.
Avatar f tn No personal experience here but you know that not everyone experiences the same side effects from any drug. If the only problem you have after Chemo is a "feeling" then you can consider yourself VERY lucky indeed. Perhaps if there is a support group in your area, that might help. Sharing experiences with others can be very beneficial. You might ask at the Oncologist's office or call your local Hospital. Regards ...
