She put me on Asacol for about a month, no change, then finally we got to the Entocort EC. It has changed my life! I am normal again. The medicine took effect within 2 weeks, a drastic change in everything. I have been on it for 6 weeks now and today is my first taper off day. I am going to go down to 2 pills a day (6 mg) from the original dose of 9 mg. I will work towards 1 pill and then off.
i am on entocort 3mg 2capsules a day. my liver enzymes were at 649 been on this drug for a month enzymes down to 169 dr. wants to put me on immuran 50mg with the entocort. does this sound good what side of effects can i expect?and what does this help?
Sorry for the late response. Is the nodule in question (on the left thyroid lobe) the same one that's been biopsied previously and found to be benign?
It looks like the right lobe is swollen (goiter), but with uniform blood flow, there doesn't seem to be any significant issue. The isthmus is normal - no problem there.
If I were going to be concerned about anything, it would be the left lobe, which has the dominant nodule. Thyromegaly is, basically, a goiter.
t come off the Prenisolone yet. My Prednisolone dosage is being reduced every few weeks or so waiting until the Imuran kicks in but i've recently developed unbelievably acne on my face. Even when I was a teenager I never really had acne problems and have had almost completely clear skin since I was about 14. I wash my face with a gentle cleanser every day and make sure I moisturise daily. My doctor has told me that the Prednisolone is causing the acne, but he's a bit vague.
While there isn't any concrete evidence that EC is hereditary, there is some speculation that a predisposition to Barret's might have a hereditary component. (It is also believed by some that while not everyone who gets Barrett's gets EC, everyone who gets EC had Barrett's.) Can I ask you if you know anything about Entocort? My doctor told me to take this 3x day for 1 wk, 2x day for 1wk & 1x day for 1wk. Then I should see him again for another xray to see if the pill has passed. I am afraid of the affects of this steriod as I also have a stomach ulcer. Anyway, I have two little boys and I can't afford to have to side affects of this medicine on top of the panic I'm feeling over the certainty of another surgery.

It means you had discharge. White discharge is common in women pregnant or not, and the amount will vary depending on the female and where she is in her cycle. In regards to your other question, it can feel like your cycle will start but it doesn't mean it will. Watch and see what happens and if it does, more than likely it is due to the EC. Overall, you're still looking way too much into this. Most of all these are just everyday usual bodily functions.
I am unsure if I may be pregnant, I had sex and contraception failed, so got emergency contraception within 14 hours. I had a short period 5 days after taking EC (therefor 3 weeks early) and my next period is now due and I have only had brown discharge and slight bleeding. However, I had the contraceptive implant fitted 6 days after taking the EC (7 days after sex) and am unsure whether the irregular periods are due to that or to the fact I may be pregnant.

Ah--didn't know you had multiple posts. It's possible that your cycle will be delayed. EC is only meant to be taken a max of 2x a year due to the high level of hormones it has in it. Because you used it twice in such a short amount of time, it causes your body to go crazy. You could skip your cycle completely, it could be early or it could be late.

Just wondering if one could still be pregnant even though a period has come? I want to know if taking the EC twice in a week affects a period if pregnant. My understanding is if I was pregnant, my period would not have come at all after takin EC, no matter how many times. Is this correct?
My doc is always reading on new things coming out trying to help me w/my liver dz. He just recently found out that Entocort would be beneficial for me in taking the place of prednisone. I am on 9 mg. Well, where do I begin. Almost instantly I lost 19 lbs of water retention (due to prednisone). The entocort metabolizes in the liver unlike the prednison which travels everywhere causing osteoporosis, bone loss, etc. I feel great. I just spoke to him yesterday regarding my liver.

Hi all, I took EC postinor 2 after protected intercourse about 40 hrs later but was worried about pre *** getting onto the condom with his hands (condom had problem sliding down but it finally did) before we had intercourse. My LMP was on 14 th oct. did it on 20th oct. took EC On 22nd afternoon 3 ish. Yesterday before sleeping I was bleeding bright red. Realise this after using my vibrator but I don't think it's cause by the vibrator as ive used it tons and never bled before.
she should get her period a week prior to her normal cycle after taking EC but if its a couple weeks late that then take a preg test or see a doctor

you should NOT use your birth control as ec though. i guess it can be used as ec if your having unprotected sex. its not the same thing as ec pill. do you know how many pills you would have to take to come close to the amount of hormones.
im not saying that was stupid. you are relying only on birth control when your not taking them right...even if you do take them right they are not 100% and by your not using condoms with that...
