Common Questions and Answers about Enoxaparin ptt

Avatar n tn In one study, 50 women with thrombophilia (including 20 factor V Leiden heterozygotes) and recurrent pregnancy loss were treated with enoxaparin throughout 61 subsequent pregnancies. The live birth rate was 75% with enoxaparin prophylaxis, compared to 20% in prior untreated pregnancies [Brenner et al 2000].
Avatar n tn It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery. We've been told thrombectomy would be extremely risky, given her medical history. I read somewhere enoxaparin only prevents further occlusion of the vein and does not lyse existing clot.
Avatar m tn I am 27 weeks pregnancy and have dvt, start to using CLEXANE(ENOXAPARIN) I am really worried is there any harm to my baby Thanks & Rgards
Avatar n tn continue through with warfarin, or to stop the warfarin and bridge in between with enoxaparin or heparin (as snconorm had done). http://www.circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/content/full/116/22/2531 So continuing through with warfarin seems to be the newer strategy. What would NOT be done is to stop anticoagulation altogether.
Avatar f tn Yes I'm on the generic enoxaparin. I was on it with my first and forth (all 4 pregnancies were miscarriages). Now I'm on it again since 3 1/2 weeks pregnant.
Avatar m tn But can trauma like what I experienced cause damage to ligaments that cause the pes planus, and that the pes planus causes the PTT to become damaged from crushing, resulting in PTTD? It seems like my case is backwards from the norm because my arches collapsed rather quickly. Could the initial traumas have caused the PTT to become damaged and perhaps I just didn't recongize it because the pain in my feet was more severe?
163240 tn?1337904361 She is also having me have blood work for myasthenia gravis and a ms battery blood test, I am also to have the following blood tests borrelia burgdorferi ab index, porthrombin time/inr and activated ptt if anyone knows what in the world these all test for. My pcp is also interested in checking for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy too. I see a musclar nuero near the end of june. I sure hope someone can get to the bottom of what is going on with me.
Avatar m tn Hi All, It's been awhile since I posted anything, been lurking occasionally, but the last several months of treament I didn't feel like doing much of anything. As some here may know, I started the Boceprevir (Sprint II) trial in November and finished after 28 weeks of treatment in May, four weeks of SOC then 24 weeks with SOC and Boceprevir.
Avatar f tn I NEED HELP ON THE ABBREVIATIONS LIKE (CK,MYO,Trop,CREAT,Retic,HgbA1C,PTT,RPR,OBC,HCG QT,HCG QL,PHOS,FE,ALB,B-PEP,CA++,K+,NA++,Lytes
Avatar m tn I'm assuming your vet ran PT/PTT blood tests (which test all of the clotting factors and the time it takes to form a clot), but if only a CBC/Chemistry was run, you should definitely have them send out for a PT/PTT and von willebrand's test (which is a factor important in how platelets form clots to the blood vessel endothelium). Rodenticide toxicity is also on the list and your dog should ideally be treated with 30 days of Vitamin K to be on the safe side.
Avatar f tn t think there is much I can do about it. I am hoping as my liver improves the platelets will come back. Or are you talking about PTT/ INR?
Avatar f tn I have been on progesterone suppositories, baby asprin, folic acid, prenatal vitamins and enoxaparin.
Avatar n tn You require an MRA, with dye contrast, as of yesterday, as well as a blood work-up to include a ptt. An MRI is not sufficient, nor is an x-ray or CT. Do not allow a physician to set you up with an appointment "in a few weeks". You require an evaluation ASAP (as soon a possible).
Avatar m tn Blood test is for PT-PTT, your ability to clot. If you are way,way slow on clotting they will choose a method besides needle biopsy or delay it.
Avatar f tn No, but the liver manufactures clotting factors and part of liver failure is the inability to produce those factors. It usually shows up as prolonged clotting times in either the PT or PTT test (can't remember which one indicates lack of clotting factors being produced). Low platelet counts can also allow bleeding episodes (clotting is a major job of platelets).
1340994 tn?1374193977 Between the PTT, ESR and several of the other tests done in the "Rule out" process, this mimic is usually picked up pretty quickly. Positive APS antibodies seem to be far more common (up to 5% of the healthy population - http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/333221-overview) than MS (high end is about 150 per 100,000 so about 0.15%).
Avatar n tn bilirubin, serum albumin, protein, prothrombin time (PTT or INR), platelet count. These tests give a better idea of how the liver is functioning.
Avatar f tn Repeated episodes of thrombosis, then a work up needs to be done to detect the cause. Was a PTT done? Based on the result they may ask for an lupus anticoagulant test, this will show the likelihood for clot formation. Then you may be started on anticoagulant medications. So, based on the overall picture your doctors can advise you about IVF. Wish you Luck.
Avatar m tn My doctor order a ultrasound plus blood work of tsh, cmp, ggt, CBC,pt,ptt, icd, hbv DNA quant, AFP everytime I see him.
Avatar m tn I don't know what could be causing it either. It may be that your daughter has a irregular PTT (thickness/thinness of blood) that can be controlled with medicine. But that's only a guess. I would take her to your physician or the hospital ASAP. Better to be safe than sorry.
