Common Questions and Answers about Enoxaparin in dvt

lovenox

Avatar m tn I am 27 weeks pregnancy and have dvt, start to using CLEXANE(ENOXAPARIN) I am really worried is there any harm to my baby Thanks & Rgards
Avatar n tn In one study, 50 women with thrombophilia (including 20 factor V Leiden heterozygotes) and recurrent pregnancy loss were treated with enoxaparin throughout 61 subsequent pregnancies. The live birth rate was 75% with enoxaparin prophylaxis, compared to 20% in prior untreated pregnancies [Brenner et al 2000].
Avatar n tn On the 22nd post-operative day, due to severe pain in the epigastric zone, her doctor ordered an abdominal CT. It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery. We've been told thrombectomy would be extremely risky, given her medical history.
Avatar f tn Once I was there I got an ultra sound and it was was confirmed I had a DVT on the left side of my groin. I was sent home with enoxaparin injections and stockings and another appointment was made in a better hospital (yesterday) for further assessment. Unfortunately I was told there was not a lot they could do for me as the meds that break the cloths down are way too dangerous for me to take as I will have cloths all over my damaged organs just sitting there doing their job.
Avatar f tn I wad injecting in the stomach but started developing scar tissue and it was getting sorer and sorer.
Avatar n tn continue through with warfarin, or to stop the warfarin and bridge in between with enoxaparin or heparin (as snconorm had done). http://www.circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/content/full/116/22/2531 So continuing through with warfarin seems to be the newer strategy. What would NOT be done is to stop anticoagulation altogether.
Avatar n tn //www.webmd.com/dvt/blood-clot-symptoms#1. Two things that you do not mention are swelling or discoloration. You've clearly already read about DVT since you mention these two symptoms being absent. Has your doctor done a lower extremity ultrasound to detect if there is a clot? That would seem like a good step to take. https://www.webmd.
Avatar m tn For about a week or so now I've been having an odd pain deep in my left thigh. It's not excruciating by any means. It feels a little like I pulled something but I haven't done any exercise or movements that would really result in that. The pain comes and goes. Sometimes it shows up when walking. Other times when laying in bed or sitting. No visual abnormalities on my thigh. Thigh is not warm to the touch. No tingling, itching, numbness. Just the pain.
Avatar f tn Yes I'm on the generic enoxaparin. I was on it with my first and forth (all 4 pregnancies were miscarriages). Now I'm on it again since 3 1/2 weeks pregnant.
Avatar f tn I am 30 weeks pregnant. In the last pregnancy (2007), I had still birth at 34 weeks due to IUGR. During the present pregnancy, my doctor has recommended aspirin and Low Molecular Weight Heparin (like Clexane) for the entire pregnancy period. I am regularly taking these both medicines. Regularly undergoing Ultrasound regular scan and Doppler scan. Till now the growth of fetus is good and is better than the last pregnancy. But my platelet count is coming down, now its around 160,000.
1943408 tn?1325582497 It is good to know that the results of the diagnostic tests were fine. Aside from DVT, pain in the arm, shoulder or neck could also be attributed to musculoskeletal or neurological issues as well. DVT in the arm may present with swelling, pain or tenderness, feeling of increased warmth in the area, redness or discoloration of the skin and enlargement of the superficial veins in the affected leg or arm.
Avatar n tn I am 18 weeks pregnant, my ankles are swelling daily but I now also have a tingling, uncomfortable feeling around my knee. Like poor circulation. I have a history of DVT in my family but my doctor and midwife did not seem concerned. Should I be worried about this as it is very uncomfortable day and night.
Avatar f tn I'm a 52 yr old male recovering from a PE (pulmonary embolism) & a DVT in my right calf from July. I've been on xarelto for 5 months because the DVT has not resolved itself. Yesterday evening I began experiencing severe vein pain/discomfort in my right forearm. The pain is similar to that of having an IV in your arm that becomes painful after several days. This vein pain has been constant and persistent for 20 hours.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, I suffered from a DVT in my left leg in February, the pain DOES NOT go away. I suffered with it for 3 months, because my Dr. told me it wasn't a DVT, it went on for so long it turned into a Pulmonary Embolus. I can assure you that if the pain goes away, than it is not a DVT. Also, my leg was purple and swollen. Is your leg discolored? My pain also, went from my calf, to my knee, to my thigh, until the pain was everywhere. If if would make you feel better, ask your Dr.
Avatar f tn I am very scared I have DVT. I had a dull pain in my calf for months. It seems like the pain gets worse when I lay down and move my toes / feet up words . There is also a heavy feeling or fullness in my calfs somedays . I have endured long haul flights over Christmas and this fall that have been over 5 hours long. I know I have moved very little during These flights. I read online that can cause DVt as well. I am a 29 year old Male 6'3" and 293.5 pounds.
Avatar f tn I had DVT in my left leg above the calf . First day just sore , second day worse. Third day I could hardly walk ... It felt like someone hit me with a baseball bat in the area effected . First ultrasound they missed it . Then I took the thing they used and placed it over the spot it hurt . They found it . I would not be concerned about your grand father . The Factor 5 is usually passed mother to son . But is an easy blood test to see if you have that gene ....
Avatar f tn Dvt means deep venous thrombosis- when a blood clot forms in the deep veins of your extremity and it is treated with a blood thinner. The affected extremity becomes swollen painful and red.
Avatar f tn Is anyone dealing with malignant lymph nodes in the neck and / or a deep vein thrombosis (DVT)? I have a DVT in the left subclavian vein below the clavicle and numerous lymph nodes right above it are confirmed malignant. I had been on Taxol for 8 months (and I'm nearly losing all of my fingernails from it!) and last week I started Topotecan. Has anyone had lymph nodes surgically removed during recurrent ovarian? My doctor has not suggested it and I intend to ask.
405855 tn?1217100767 Any flight that long can put you at risk for a DVT or blood clot in the leg. Being pregnant your at a higher risk of one. So every hour walk up and down the aisle if you can and stretch those legs.... That's my advice! Also, even tho it'll make you pee more, drink extra water that day and the day before and after, due to the environment on planes ppl tend to get dehydrated easier, and that can lead to increased risk of the dvt also! (I saw that part on Dr. G medical examiner..
Avatar m tn then its is practically 0% chance of a dvt. but, speaking as someone who has suffered in the past with a dvt, and since has feared the sudden pain in the leg, i can tell you that some leg pains are exactly the same as the pain of you did have a dvt. When you do alot of exercise your blood vessels can become damaged / tired.
Avatar f tn Two years ago, in 2021, I experienced a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in my left leg after a cesarean section during the delivery of my third baby. However, my recent leg ultrasound report, conducted in 2023, shows no signs of DVT and no swelling. The report indicates that my leg is normal. Currently, I am pregnant and would like to know if it is safe to continue the pregnancy or if there is a risk of experiencing DVT again. Should I proceed with the pregnancy or consider other options?
Avatar f tn I broke my calcaneous, and now have numbness in my leg and swelling. It's also a little red. Is this normal? I have seen a surgeon and he put me in a boot cast.
Avatar f tn A friend of mine is in a bad state. He has acute DVT and has clots in his leg. He had contacted the doctor and the doctor has said that his vein is dissolved and will not be possible to get into his normal condition. However a lasor treatment will ensure that the reverse situation will be controlled. Please let me know how best and what best are the ways and means to prevent clotting and ensuring he is fine. I am totally worried.
Avatar m tn however, I did have 2 serious calf muscle tears 9 and 11 years ago in the same leg as the DVT was recently discovered in. Both times the tears caused extreme swelling and brusing in the calf. Is it possible for a DVT to have resulted from this, to remain dormant for a number of years (9-11 years in my case), and then break up to cause recent PE?
Avatar m tn Need advice...my husband has had a dvt in his leg below knee for three months. Last week he hit his shin at work and now leg is really swollen and purple especially on the heel. he has been on coumadin since initial diagnosis and also his doctor put him on lovenox shots for ten days. The lovenox was also given short term when he was diagnosed. There was another ultrasound done when he injured his leg and now they are not sure if he developed another clot or if this is the same clot.
