During the present pregnancy, my doctor has recommended aspirin and Low Molecular Weight Heparin (like Clexane) for the entire pregnancy period. I am regularly taking these both medicines. Regularly undergoing Ultrasound regular scan and Doppler scan. Till now the growth of fetus is good and is better than the last pregnancy.
But my platelet count is coming down, now its around 160,000. I have heard, usually during pregnancy platelet count comes down.
In one study, 50 women with thrombophilia (including 20 factor V Leiden heterozygotes) and recurrent pregnancy loss were treated with enoxaparin throughout 61 subsequent pregnancies. The live birth rate was 75% with enoxaparin prophylaxis, compared to 20% in prior untreated pregnancies [Brenner et al 2000].
It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery. We've been told thrombectomy would be extremely risky, given her medical history.
I read somewhere enoxaparin only prevents further occlusion of the vein and does not lyse existing clot.
My doctor described me a clexane 20 mlg everyday in my 2nd month in my pregancy for 1 month long. And he increased the dose into 40 mlg every day. Now I am in my week 36. And he told me I will take it till delivery and for 7 days after delivery. And he said I am taking clexane because of antibodies but I don't know the name of these antibodies or anything about analysis names.
So I need to know the reason to take clexane.
Ten days after giving birth to my 1st baby I had a pulmonary embolism so had Clexane injections initially along with 6 months of warfarin tablets. I am scared of this happening again so this time I am wanting to have Clexane injections during the pregnancy to prevent. Does anyone know at what stage of pregnancy I am likely to start these injections?
According to his leaflet I should stop clexane by 12 weeks but I left the country when i was 11 weeks and cant see him anymore. I met my local consultant who advised me to stay on it through preg. I also took a 2nd opinion from a high risk preg consultant who said I can stop or continue! Drs can still change their prescriptions according to scans.

6 months - after a year she is pregnant again (6 weeks) - she is on warfarin from when she is 16 (she was diagnose with antifosfolipied syndrome) and must used clexane every time she got pregnant - my question is, is this save to used this for the whole pregnancy and the growing baby and what bother me the most is that her feet is swolling and very painfull ( clexane 1 week using), can that be the injection ????? we know that the pregnancy is a high risk!
Has anyone on here had to inject clexane once a day during their pregnancy .... i have just come home from seeing my consultant at the hospital and she has told me she wants to put me on clexane because im at high risk of DVT and need to take blood thinners but i was just wondering if anyone else here had to do this and if it affected them in any way ....
my clinic is putting me on clexane injections with this cycle, just wandered if any one has had success by using this drug... and should i be taking baby asprin or steriods with it. all my other cycles failed...
On the other hand, Clexane injection is also used to stop blood clots forming within the blood vessels. and is administered by injection under the skin. Indication for each medicine depends on a variety of factors such as your medical history, symptoms present and diagnosis. continue through with warfarin, or to stop the warfarin and bridge in between with enoxaparin or heparin (as snconorm had done).

So continuing through with warfarin seems to be the newer strategy.
What would NOT be done is to stop anticoagulation altogether.
Yes I'm on the generic enoxaparin. I was on it with my first and forth (all 4 pregnancies were miscarriages). Now I'm on it again since 3 1/2 weeks pregnant.
Is anyone else doing Clexane injections? Or similar. The are daily injections into the top lair of fat on my stomach, the are meant to reduce my risk of blood clots.
Wow! That's lots of meds..! I am 9dp 2day embryo transfer. Not everyone gets the symptoms. I have been have slight cramping and constant headache. I took a hpt yesterday and felt as if I saw a faint line. I am on progesterone in oil shots and estrace 2mg twice a day.

The first thing they do if they suspect heart problems is give you GTN tablets or a spray, aspirin and then usuallly an injection of clexane in the lower abdomen.
My 2nd pregnancy, (baby number one) 15 years ago at 30 weeks. I was put on disprin 150 mg daily and clexane injections 40 mg daily throughout my last pregnancy. I had a healthy baby boy 5 yrs ago. I am 41 yrs of age now, and have no idea if I should be medicated for this, and I don't know anything about it. Please make sence of this for me please.

I developed bilateral pulmonary embolisms a few days ago due to a dvt in my thigh which i was unaware of. I am on clexane injections for the next 6 months. Is it safe to continue on the tamoxifen? Is there an alternative to this medication that does not have such serious side effects.
I have been on progesterone suppositories, baby asprin, folic acid, prenatal vitamins and enoxaparin.
