Common Questions and Answers about Enoxaparin bridging

Avatar n tn In one study, 50 women with thrombophilia (including 20 factor V Leiden heterozygotes) and recurrent pregnancy loss were treated with enoxaparin throughout 61 subsequent pregnancies. The live birth rate was 75% with enoxaparin prophylaxis, compared to 20% in prior untreated pregnancies [Brenner et al 2000].
Avatar n tn It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery. We've been told thrombectomy would be extremely risky, given her medical history. I read somewhere enoxaparin only prevents further occlusion of the vein and does not lyse existing clot.
Avatar m tn I am 27 weeks pregnancy and have dvt, start to using CLEXANE(ENOXAPARIN) I am really worried is there any harm to my baby Thanks & Rgards
Avatar f tn i had surgery for mycardial bridging about 8 years ago. i was wondering if once you have the surgery can you have problems again. i have been short of breath for about 2 weeks and been having slight chest pains and have been really tired lately. my ekg and chest e-ray comes back normal.
Avatar n tn continue through with warfarin, or to stop the warfarin and bridge in between with enoxaparin or heparin (as snconorm had done). http://www.circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/content/full/116/22/2531 So continuing through with warfarin seems to be the newer strategy. What would NOT be done is to stop anticoagulation altogether.
Avatar f tn Yes I'm on the generic enoxaparin. I was on it with my first and forth (all 4 pregnancies were miscarriages). Now I'm on it again since 3 1/2 weeks pregnant.
Avatar f tn what exactly does fibrous portal expansion with rare portal to portal bridging fibrosis mean? I Did try to look it up but need a medical dictionary and it never really explained the rare part. Anyone?
Avatar n tn My husband - who is on coumadin--was told to stop all his meds except BP a week prior to surgery--he is having a hip replacement and was told he could get heparin to inject daily a week prior. supposedly heparin is a fast acting anticoagulant and it leaves the body after 24 hours.
Avatar f tn He was noted to have bridging fibrosis at the time, and said his liver disease was not advanced, but he needed to be careful.
Avatar n tn Do I have bridging fibrosis demonstating fibrous tissue in the portal tracts of the liver with fibrous bands bridging to other portal areas or to central veins but without nodular formation or nodular regeneration. Would you answer yes to this question?
Avatar f tn I'm 44, female. I have two heart problems. One is the prolapsed anterior mitral valve which I did the echo-test in 2001. Unfortunately couple days ago, only 10-15 minutes after start in my body combat class, like a heart attack, I fainted, heart pain and severe jaw pain but I didn't collapse. I took a break nearly 30 minutes my heart was getting better and less jaw pain. Actually it was happened to me several times during the tennis course. So I did CT scan test.
Avatar n tn I had liver biopsy results are cronic hepatatis with bridging fibrosis. Now what is the treatment for it.
Avatar m tn The doctors were puzzled at the time as they had never seen an MI due to the bridging. Can the current low EF with LV dysfunction be due to the bridging? Or is it possible he had a silent MI again? He has an appt. with a cardiologist next week but I'd like to know if this could be related to his myocardial bridge.
907812 tn?1245739802 I don't know if there is a "normal" but no bridging fibrosis is very good news.
Avatar f tn So, my understanding is that f3 is bridging fibrosis with areas of scarring that are connected by scar tissue, and f4 is bridging fibrosis with increased areas of scarring that are connected by scar tissue and nodules. With f4 there is also an increased overall area of scarring throughout the liver. As OH said, a biopsy is only a small section, and it is up to the pathologist to determine if the slice is representative of the overall health of the liver.
16682065 tn?1450487574 An invasive cardiologist would not come into play unless there needs to be a review of bridging. In my case, bridging or a tunneled artery did become an issue, however stenting a blockage in the section solved the problem. If your son did not have coronary artery disease, the bridging is a common issue found in many people that do not cause symptoms. Again, sorry for your loss. I'd look at rhythm.
Avatar f tn I have been on progesterone suppositories, baby asprin, folic acid, prenatal vitamins and enoxaparin.
Avatar m tn Normally, the coronary arteries are set in a groove on the surface of the heart, but a superficial bridge is an anomaly that has a short segment of bridging fibers covering and transversing part of the LAD's midportion. The medical significance can be that the vessel cannot expand but it retains its constriction feature for regulating normal blood flow. The vessel is compressed during pumping phase but recovers during the heart's resting phase, etc.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with bridging of the LAD also. This was in 2000 of course this was after a few years of being told that I had no cardiac problems, that it was stress and anxiety. Then it was not cardiac , so of course it had to now be gastrointestinal/stomach problems. I was treated with medications for about 2 years for the pain that was in fact being caused by the bridging, with no relief. Yes I was symtomatic, having pain almost constantly.
Avatar m tn myocardial bridging refers to a condition where a strip of heart tissue has grown over the top of a section of coronary artery, in your case the middle section of the LAD. Each time your heart squeezes to push blood out, this tissue presses on the LAD restricting the flow of blood. Some patients experience angina even at rest because there is still pressure, while others do not because there is no pressure on the artery allowing full flow.
