It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery. We've been told thrombectomy would be extremely risky, given her medical history.
I read somewhere enoxaparin only prevents further occlusion of the vein and does not lyse existing clot.

I am regularly taking these both medicines. Regularly undergoing Ultrasound regular scan and Doppler scan. Till now the growth of fetus is good and is better than the last pregnancy.
But my platelet count is coming down, now its around 160,000. I have heard, usually during pregnancy platelet count comes down. I am worried whether this is just incidental one or is it because of the medicines i am taking. My doctor tells, it shouldn't come down less than 150,000.
I wad injecting in the stomach but started developing scar tissue and it was getting sorer and sorer.
continue through with warfarin, or to stop the warfarin and bridge in between with enoxaparin or heparin (as snconorm had done).

So continuing through with warfarin seems to be the newer strategy.
What would NOT be done is to stop anticoagulation altogether.
Yes I'm on the generic enoxaparin. I was on it with my first and forth (all 4 pregnancies were miscarriages). Now I'm on it again since 3 1/2 weeks pregnant.

I have the same history you do, of valve surgery and post-surgical HIT. You can take warfarin with a history of HIT. If you happen to have a mechanical valve, I'm sure you already are taking warfarin. If you're on warfarin, and you're wondering what to use for bridging, that would be Arixtra (fondaparinux). Fondaparinux is dispensed in syringes for subcutaneous injection, to be self-administered once a day. I've used it, and it's easy.

Hi today I was sleeping and my 13 year old brother who fell asleep next to me crossed his leg over my belly and let it fall, he did not hit me hard but I'm really scared, I'm 20 weeks so far, and I checked for the baby's kicks, and I guess she got either mad or scared too because she was kicking hard. I don't have any pain. What do you think please help, I don't know if I should go to the hospital to get checked up, I don't know what to do.
i frequently search google for reports on unsolved hit and runs in areas I may have been.i even pray to god for signs that I have hit someone and have received possible coincidental signs that I cannot be sure is a sign from god.this all probably sounds ridiculous to most but its a huge part of my daily ritual.i cant focus at work.i cant laugh or be happy knowing that in the past this may have happened.
My mom stayed with my dad and he hit her. She was even pregnant when he hit her. I hit the left side of my head pretty hard and initially heard a high-pitched noise and then had some trouble hearing. I fell asleep (it was night time). When I woke up, my hearing was fine, but I was dizzy each time I sat up or got up. It only lasted a few seconds. I also felt nausea but did not throw-up. It's been almost 24 hours, and I'm only dizzy once every few hours, and my stomach is fine.
Hi, 12 days ago I fell and hit my eyebrow bone real hard and it immediatley swelled up and out pretty far. since then I've had 2 black eyes and the 'Knot" on my eyebrow bone is still there and sticks out pretty good yet. Is there any way to speed up this healing process? By the way I did have a CT scan when it happenend and it was fine. I still have small bruiseing under my eyes thats almost gone...I look like frankenstein though!! Doesnt hurt just kinda mushy to the touch.

So I'm 24 weeks and yesterday I was riding my bicycle to work like I do everyday and a guy in a minivan wasn't paying attention and hit me...I flew about 4 feet with my bike and ended up with his van pinning me and my bike to the ground...He had to back it up so I could move. I was tAken to the emergency room via ambulance...They found that my blood mixed with baby blood which meant there was internal bleeding.
