Avatar n tn Weren't given lab results with reference ranges, only told that all TSH levels were normal. All her CBC blood work came back normal, but the swelling in her neck is evident and she is more tired than usual. She is active in softball and gets tired more easily, even lightheaded. She says it does not bother her. She can swallow just fine, but the difference in her demeanor is evident. Teacher has stated she's been more lethargic in the last few weeks before we noticed swelling.
1972965 tn?1334854702 I have the same problem, enlarged thyroid, normal labs and no diagnosis, but experience hyper symptoms.
Avatar f tn I have been told by my endocrinologist that I probably have hashimotos--even though my antibody test was normal. She said this happens sometimes. My thyroid is slightly enlarged and rubbery. tsh is normal but free t-4 is low. I have symptoms of hypothyroidism and other causes have been ruled out. Have you heard of this?
Avatar f tn I've just had my FNA done and will get the results next Wed.(Not a pleasant experience but I've had worse done to me over the years!) However about two days ago my neck (above the thyroid) has started to become very itchy and dry. I've never experienced this before and am not sure if it's at all connected with the thyroid problem I have (Large solitary nodule (2.5cm) in my left lobe which is also slightly enlarged, normal labs).
Avatar f tn at 23 i had a abnormal ekg and my thyroid was enlarged. But my chest x-ray looked good and my tsh level was normal. I have had several problems for the past 15 yrs. my vitamin d is low now and i am on 5ok IUs every 5 days now. could all this be cause by my Thyroid. have every symptom of a hyperthyroid. so musch so 3 dr.s have tested me for it. just do not understand.
1488651 tn?1296698023 I also am getting severe headaches, chills, cough, and my thyroid gland seems constantly enlarged at all times with pain. Plus always fatigued !!!!! Does anyone else have any of this symptoms??
Avatar m tn I just wanted to let you know that I read your post and I am thinking about you. Are your labs coming back in normal range. What labs have they done? Why was the scan ordered?
Avatar f tn m a 31 year old female, had a TT in April due to obstructive nodules and an enlarged thyroid (I also suspect I have Hashis, but have yet to have both antibody tests). I'm on 112mg of Levo, but I still have pretty much every hypo symptom ever. I've posted a picture of the results for the tests she ran. Also, does TSH typically bounce all over the place? Yesterday I tested at 1.9, but three weeks ago when the ENT ran it, I was at 0.6. Thanks for any help in advance!
Avatar f tn i have been on synthroid for many years...hypoactive....i recently went for a ultrasound of my thyroid...which results were enlarged thyroid lobes which demonstrate diffuse heterogeneous echotexture and nodularity w/o evidence of definite discrete nodules. thyroid lobes are symmetrically enlarged. right thyroid lobe measures 7.6x2.5x3.4cm. left lobe 7.4.x 2 x 2.5 cm. the isthumus appears thickened and measures 6mm.
Avatar f tn If the thyroid labs are normal, including thyroid antibodies, then the presence of an enlarged thyroid is not the likely cause for your symptoms. However testing TPO Tg antibodies and considering levothyroxine treatment if positive may be worth considering, particularly with the infertility issue.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with enlarged thyroid with nodule/s in February and won't know results of ultrasound done until appointment April 8th. I also suffer from fibromyalgia (FMS) and so have mixed symptoms. I know that my TSH was very low with all other hormones being in high normal and not sure what that means. does anyone have problems with their thyroid cycling between hyper or hypo?
Avatar f tn All thyroid functions were normal in fact right in the middle of normal. Then a thyroid scan was ordered which showed a normal thyroid size and that neither nodules was dominant, hot or cold, and that the thyroid uptake was slightly elevated 36% at 6 hours and 18% at 24 hours. I have three relatives all on the same side with thyroid cancer at different ages and sexes, 50's female, 20's male, 40's female.
Avatar f tn Goiter is simply an enlarged/swollen thyroid. Your thyroid consists of 2 lobes and an isthmus.Did you have a nodule removed or one lobe of your thyroid. What are your actual thyroid hormone levels (Free T3 and Free T4)? Hypothyroidism can cause hoarseness. An ENT should know that. Would you by any chance be a smoker?
Avatar f tn An US is always anxiety provoking, but try to relax. Most enlargements (goiters) and nodules are benign. It comes with thyroid disease.
Avatar f tn I just want to know why my thyroid would have nodules all of a sudden, along with other symptoms of thyroid problems, but normal blood tests?! Very confusing to me......
Avatar f tn Hello Dr. Lupo, In March, I had a thyroid uptake test and ultrasound and my results are as follows: T3 - 0.87 (range 0.80-2.00), T4 - 1.2 (range 0.7-1.8), TSH - 0.61 (range 0.50-4.50). It was also stated that "moderate homogeneous radiotracer uptake in enlarged bilateral thyroid glands is suspicious for Graves disease". Both lobes are slightly enlarged. My thyroid impression is "mild diffuse thyroid enlargement".
Avatar f tn Ultrasound shows thryroid is normal and not enlarged. Nuclear medicine said, as a result of the immunthyroidities is a latent hypothyreose present. Endocrinologist said: Thyroid function is normal.
1826858 tn?1323796104 Had to fight with her to order ultrasound. She never even touched my neck to see if thyroid was enlarged. I do know that my vit. d, 25-hydroxy is 20.2 ng/ml and I'm having severe muscle spasms in right shoulder and neck could this be the cause of all this even my thyroid being enlarged?
464672 tn?1206808435 The nodules can also be causing problems even with normal labs - especially if they are constricting any important neck structures (my daughter's was compressing her jugular).
Avatar f tn In most cases of an enlarged thyroid with nodules, the labs will be normal indicating that the thyroid function is normal..although some nodules are huge, it doesn't effect the function of the thyroid in most cases. Those who have thyroid conditions, such as Graves Disease or hypothyroidism may have abnormal labs indicating that the thyroid function is abnormal. In your case, you will have a fna biopsy to rule out any abnormal cells that can cause cancer.
