My husband had an ultrasound done last week that revealed that the left thyroid lobe is
enlarged, nodular and heterogeneous. There is a
mass, heterogeneous and partially cystic measuring 2.4x2.1x1.3cm and a larger mass also heterogeneous solid and partially cystic measures 3.9x4.1x3.6.
Our question how critical is the skill of the Dr. that performs the FNA? Also, is there anything from the description of the masses that will alleviate some anxiety while we wait for the FNA results?
