I been having back pain in my upper back seems to be close to ribs in my back. What do you think this could be? It bothers me during the day not much at night.

Enbrel was introduced in 1998 and by the time my insurance agreed to pay for it it was Spring 1999 when I took my first injection. I started Enbrel along with an injectible dose of.09 Mtx weekly. For me Enbrel was a light-switch medication and within 2 weeks I was a normal functioning adult again with no pain at all. My only real complaint is that my hair has become substantially thinner and I am considering stopping the Mtx to see if there is an improvement.
I took my first Humira shot in my leg on Monday and last night my leg began to hurt really bad. It is a pain that is hard to describe. I told my husband it was a "bone pain" it hurts down deep in the bone from my knee to my hip joint. Today it is hurting mostly in my hip joint.I take darvocet daily for pain and it really isn't helping and neither is naproxen. Is this normal after the first few days of the injection?

I am 24 years old male I was recently diagnosed with Reiter's Syndrome (Reactive Arthritis). I am positive for HLA-B27 antigen. It's been almost one month since the first swelling and before that I had Chlamydia. My symptoms so far are swelling in knees, elbow, ankles, toes, wrist, fingers, and I think in my spine too, and of course, pain and stiffness. I didn't have any other problem from the list of problems that come with Reiter's.
Sunday is my injection day too! Thanks for the kind words, Enbrel was my last hope. Dr's are interesting to say the least, I had only been on the Enbrel 4 weeks when he said he wanted to take me off of it and try Remicade or Humira. I work in the medical field and researched the heck out of the Enbrel before I started taking it, risk outweighing the benefits etc, it also said it could take up to 3 months to work so I insisted he allow me to give it the full amount of time to work.
Hi - has anyone who has ever been on Enbrel noticed a rust-colored staining on the hands? I'm not sure if it is directly related to enbrel, but I thought I would ask. My daughter was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis several months ago, and has tried Remicade unsuccessfully. Now, she has had 2 injections of Enbrel, and just today has noticed the staining on her hands. I don't know what to think, so I'd appreciate hearing from any of you.
Just started taking Enbrel self injection, haven't had RA meds since August. Feeling lighted a bit and very anxious. Is this normal and will it fade as time goes on?
It was about my 3rd injection I think when I started having tooth pain in my upper front teeth. Within a couple of days, my bottom front teeth stated hurting. I skipped a week of Humira under Dr advice incase I was fighting a sinus infection. Symptoms got better. Then I started back on my Humira last night and my teeth are killing me again. If I take DayQuil and NyQuil everyday, my sinuses feel better but its been some weeks now that I'll get a horrible sinus headache without cold medicine.
Hi, recently my mother was switched to enbrel, now she can get the medication at home. I will be injecting the medication weekly. I read on the instructions that you are supposed to aspirate and then supply the medication, this is to ensure that a vein or artery has not been hit. We are going to be using pre-filled syringes. Now, I am a bit worried because what if when aspirating I get blood in the syringe? Do I have to discard the medicine?
does anyone know if it is ok to take the redipen injection and humira injections at the same time.
can it get worse as the medication wears off? the pregnisone dose pack works well also, but the pain comes back as soon as i stop taking the medication.
how often can i take the prednisone? i am worried about the systemic effects of the steriods, but this is the only medication that keeps the pain away in any real manner.

...there were alot of things he could not do anymore. Since being on Enbrel, the inflamation, pain and swelling is gone. He's doing the things he wants to do and its because of Enbrel.
I understand why you are nervous about the side effects, but my dads experience has only been positive.
I cannot even imagine what it would be like to be so young and have to deal with RA. While I know MTX can cause low grade fevers and injection site pain, if you feel that there is something more going on here then you need to follow your gut.
You wrote she is called the mystery of the hospital (grrrrrrr, I can see why that would send you up a wall.) How many hospitals has she been to? Has she seen any doctors other than the 3 rheumatologists and the 1 oncologist you mentioned?
Ya, my joints tend to stiffen and my fingers and toes begin to curl. Full body pain everywhere. Enbrel has been amazing, giving me a 90% normal life almost pain free. I’m scarred because I only have 1 more month supply before I need to refill it. My Employee based Ins copay was 25 bucks for the month. Now I am retired, it’s going to cost me 1,000 dollars a month.
The competition does sell versions of it (Remicade and Humira) but those are just as costly. Humira actually would cost me more.
I was diagnosed with Severe RA in 1999 and was prescribed Enbrel. I've been on it 2 times a week since then and have very good luck with it. No side effects and have to take no other medications with it, besides Vicodin when I have a flare up or severe pain. I'll be getting married this October and am curious to know if any woman out there have gotten pregnant and given birth while on Enbrel.
Remicade is a biologic injection, in the same class of drugs as Humira, Enbrel and Orencia. I have been taking Humira for rhematoid arthritis and it seems to be doing it's job as my rheumy says. It keeps me out of the emergency room with serious flares which had become a habit for me.
These drugs are usually reserved for "rheumatoid" type arthritis and getting insurance companies to approve them is not normally easy.
