enbrel

Avatar f tn Here in the U.S. the cost of the Enbrel is $18,000 a year, a steep cost as well. Because I changed jobs and cannot afford the COBRA payments ( Ins.the employee pays for in between new coverage taking effect) Today is my last shot until Aug. 1 when my new Ins. kicks in. The first thing that came to mind for you is to contact the company that makes Enbrel..
Avatar f tn are you checking with the manufactory on cost savings cards? I have been on Humira for over a year and the manufacture subsidies the cost to were i pay 25 a month for two 40m pens.
1544019 tn?1318504526 So just an update about this. Just when we finally got cleared for me to take the Enbrel while pregnant, we find out it's not going to be into the pharmacy until Friday AND it's going to cost $900!!! BUT it turns out it will actually probably be safer for me TO take the Enbrel. I have to control my arthritis because if I don't control it, (according to the lady at the pregnancy risk hotline we talked to today) Rheumatoid ARthritis puts me at risk for still birth and preterm labor.

Avatar n tn I am 42 and have been on Enbrel for 8 years now. The Sureclick was no good for me because I can't stand not knowing if it is all in me or not. Also, the two most feared things in the world to me are needles and knives. I waited a full month before building the courage to give myself my first injection and it literally stared working overnight. I have very mild AS and have a fairly large dose of Reactive Arthritis (Reiters' syndrome). Both knees, one toe, neck and both wrists.
Avatar n tn Hi. I've had RA for 17 years, on Enbrel for the last 8.5. I never wanted to go on MTX because the side effects scare me, and I enjoy a few drinks with friends. A new doctor has put me on it in conjunction with Enbrel because I have couple joints which have been causing me problems. Otherwise, I've been great on Enbrel. I am now in my 3rd week on MTX, and seveal joints are really flaring. I find this very depressing.
Avatar f tn Sorry I don't have Kaiser health insurance, maybe someone else here does, but those prices sound about right. Those are your "co-pay costs", the "actual cost" is thousands of dollars per month as you have heard. I had Blue Cross of California during treatment and my co-pay cost were similar to the prices you quoted.
148588 tn?1465778809 At $1,000-per-pill, Sovaldi is priced 1,100% more than Gilead’s most expensive AIDS drug, Stribild, its four-in-one AIDS drug combination, which was priced at $80 per pill a year ago when it came to market,” said Michael Weinstein, President of AIDS Healthcare Foundation. “At that time, Stribild’s price was 35% more than Atripla, the company’s best selling combination HIV/AIDS treatment, and made Stribild the highest priced first-line combination AIDS therapy.
Avatar n tn AROUND THREE YEARS AGO I WAS HAVING FLARE UPS AND MY DOCTOR ALSO ME ON ENBREL, WORKED VERY GOOD FOR THE RA BUT MY NOW MY THROAT IS ALWAYS SORE AND CONGESTED WITH PHELM. THIS YEAR I'VE SEEM NUMEROUS DOCTORS ENT, GENERAL ALERGIST AND EVEN HAD SINUS SURGERY FOR 30 GRAND, NOTHING FIXED THE THROAT PROBLEMS. I SEEM MY RA DOCTOR THE OTHER DAY AND ADVISED HIM I'M GOING TO GET OFF OF THE ENBREL AND SEE IF MY THROAT CONDITION IMPROVES. HE DID NOT THINK THAT WAS THE PROBLEM.
Avatar n tn Hello there, I am 24 years old male I was recently diagnosed with Reiter's Syndrome (Reactive Arthritis). I am positive for HLA-B27 antigen. It's been almost one month since the first swelling and before that I had Chlamydia. My symptoms so far are swelling in knees, elbow, ankles, toes, wrist, fingers, and I think in my spine too, and of course, pain and stiffness. I didn't have any other problem from the list of problems that come with Reiter's.
422104 tn?1209763904 Doctor, I would like information related to Enbrel and MS. I used Enbrel for less than one year. I now have demylination of the cervical spinal cord, both optic nerves, plaques in my brain, numbness in leg and balance problems. I am now fifty eight. Symtoms started at age fifty six with numbness in leg and balance problems. I have been told it looks "MSish." Questions: now that the new symptom of, the optic nerves being demlinated, is it MS?
1722607 tn?1335747858 That's similar to my husband's cost. I think his copay each month for triple with Inc. was about $85. Last year, in treatment #2, I think his copays for Neupogen and Procrit, when he needed them, were about $30 each for the month.
Avatar n tn I've been on enbrel since 2003. I didn't develop or notice an infection until about a year ago. I am not saying enbrel caused it, but I've either had since college and slowly enbrel suppressed my immune system and the infection popped up again or I developed a recent infection. Eitherway, I have an infection now that I've tried to treat with aldara but has made my psoriasis worse and thus spread the infection making the infection worse, ie more warts.
Avatar m tn one year of Enbrel injections. Although the Enbrel may have lessened the pain and progression. other side effects and basically an unwell feeling. dizziness. sinusitis. Pain in eyes. If this is as good as it gets. there must be something better. anyone else been here and found something better?
Avatar n tn I have been taking Enbrel for 5 years. I am 57 years. In the last year I have developed a head tremor which is getting progressively worse.
Avatar f tn I have been told to get off Enbrel for needed gallbladder surgery. My problem is that when I get off Enbrel, every joint in my body swells, turns red, hurts unbearably and locks up. I become completely bedridden and cannot get dressed or go to the bathroom without help. My blood tests show that, even with the Enbrel, my c reactives and other immune response numbers are very high. They tell me that they will give me prednisone to help with the reaction.
737030 tn?1257659120 So I did and the pharmacist said the Enbrel was $1350 per month and the Remicade $2700. Then I said -- well how much for those pain pills he prescribed and she said $21.00. I replied: " I'LL TAKE THE PAIN PILLS PLEASE " Later, after being encouraged by an aquaintance that suffers from Ankylosing Spondylistis ( and has a narcotic pump implanted in his abdomen) I contacted the drug company that makes Enbrel to see about assistance and they provided some to get me started.
Avatar n tn Remicade, Enbrel, etc that seem to work for some - but they cost like $5,000 per month and I think I would only like to go there as a last resort. Anyone here able to share with me their experience with Tramadol/ultram -- good or bad. would also like to hear from anyone using biologics.
Avatar f tn Yup, I definitely know about Enbrel. I was on in for over three year and wish that I were still on it. As a matter of fact, I probably will go back on it when I see my doctor in a couple of weeks. I am presently on methotrexate which is doing absolutely nothing for me. Granted, we have different types of arthritis, mine being psoriatic arthritis, but I can tell you that I was on Enbrel alone for atleast three years and I had great results with no side effects. For me it was a wonder drug.
Avatar f tn I live n GA and have United Healthcare, it covers unlimited IUI's and 2 IVF cycles per year (but that doesn't include medicine) and there are still "co pays" for doctors visits and procedures. I would check around and see what your state offers.
422104 tn?1209763904 A year ago i went on the Enbrel, and also still taking the arava, i also have found i am feeling like a new person. I went from needing a lift chair or help getting up and down too being able to do almost anything. But with the Enbrel it took a while for it to start working. Now i can tell when it is time for the next injection. I am not pain free, but i am far better then i was. I also have the throat issue. I choke on alot of things, because my throat doesn't allow much to go down.
Avatar n tn Wow, I must have fallen asleep with the laptop in bed last night, I wrote you back with my opinion and must have nodded off before I could hit send! Anyway, I will tell you that my response was almost exactly what txsilver told you. I have never heard of a doctor not wanting to prescribe anti inflamm's. Everything we take comes with some risk, we have to outweigh the risks versus the good they can do and give us back some quality of life while we battle our different diseases.
Avatar n tn Took maximum oral dosage of methotrexate (8 pills once/week) for ~1 year for rheumatoid arthritis, then stopped taking methotrexate. 1. How long after stopping methotrexate does it take for the immune system to recover to its previous (pre-methotrexate) state? 2. Does the length of time for immune system to recover depend on length of time methotrexate was taken? 3. Is methotrexate likely to become less effective in treating RA over time. Is so, over what timeframe? 4.
Avatar f tn i pay 300 per month in copays for treatment. Each injectable is 100 per month and I'm on 3. 700 is pretty steep but that's the way things are going in healthcare. A year ago my co pay on neupogen was 45 a month.
Avatar n tn The drug costs less on an absolute basis than Incivek (~$100,000 per year), which is reimbursed without question, and is an even better deal if one applies a “cost per cure” methodology (A recent Mt. Sinai study shows a $189,000 cost per cure for Incivek-containing regimens.) Moreover, remember that the government pays nowhere near list price; Medicaid receives a mandatory 23.
422104 tn?1209763904 Ok, heres one for anybody out there. Has anyone tried the Enbrel, had no luck with it and gone on to either the Remicade or Humira and gotten results? It's a beautiful day here in the NE and the pup is telling me it's time to get out there! Make it a good day everyone and I will check in later today. Sue & Casey, ha ha!
Avatar n tn s disease, ulcerative colitis, moderate to severe chronic psoriasis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis and other conditions, but without any great associated costs (biologics can cost $20,000.00-$40,000.00 per year!
Avatar n tn I am an 81 year old woman. I have been diagnosed with multinodular thyroid. My symptoms include husky or loss of voice for the last four days, 3-4 heart palpitations per day that take about 1/2 to settle, some missed heart beats, some coughing, rare green expectorate, and regular breathing. I have a seriously compromised immune system from RA and taking Enbrel for the last 3 years. Swallowing had been OK until two hours ago when I found that I could not eat food. I cannot swallow.
