I am in California now. I did a hiv test in a clinic. It was HIV-1/2 antibodies screening assay. It is non-reactive. My question is: Is it kind of ELISA?? Because I didn't see "ELISA" in the result.
hi i had exposure oral sex insertive oral sex3 months ago and unprotected anal sex 2 years before i have done hiv duo 4 generation test by cmia and result came non reactive 0.19 now do i need to perform any other test ? i am very worried ? am i hiv free ?
Placebo told you something what is not quite right. For Hepatit B, if you do ELISA HBSAg test, reactive means that still you have kind garbage from HepB virus. Probably you have negativized but it needs more time. Try to repeat again the same test after 3-6 months. In the mean time, please eat only healthy food. Best is vegetables (no tomato), poultry, fisch... NO FAT! No food with aditives... what I used to clean my liver is Sylimarin. It is verry good medicine, natural based.
Hie help me i had Elisa test and i came negative (non reactive ) what does that means guys help me i had p24antigen last wk i came negative which is which help me interpret the non reactive one Thanks
Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
Dear Doc (and forum readers), About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though. I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
how accurate is a negative elisa test 3 weeks post risky exposure for a woman (unprotected sex) with a hiv positive man? my doctor says its 100% accurate, is this true....

I just received notice from my doctor that my Elisa test was reactive and western blot was negative. My boyfriend and I always use condoms, with the exception of maybe 3 times a year or so we slip up. We both tested negative for HIV in August 2012. Anyhow, at the end of May the condom broke once and then again at the end of June. My doctor says I can look at the result as a negative since the western blot was negative and didn't find any bands.
I'm no longer in contact with her, which is pretty weird, but whatever. As for me, from that screening I took, I had a reactive Elisa test and an indeterminate western blot test with the p40 and p24 bands present. A week and a half later, I got more testing with my parents' doctor, same results: Elisa positive and western blot inconclusive ! I'm getting retested at the beginning of January.

Sir, just would like to ask that for an immigration purpose i got the ELISA test one year ago and that's result was .09 out of 1.00 Cut off rate, unfortunately my immigration date expired and I had to take another test. In the second one the rate came .15 out of 1.00 Cut off rate. So my question is that why did the result reading increased is there some problem but both of my tests declared as Non-reactive. Hope you understood my problem.
Is weakly reactive and equivocal the same thing? This test they say is 'identical' to a test a couple of months ago and so they aren't sending it for retesting.

Recently, I took another test and it came back reactive. They sent the blood sample for a confirmation WB test, and that came back yesterday as negative (no bands). I haven't had any other exposures, only this guy. And like I said, it was over 2 years ago. Should I retest or put this behind me? My doctor suggested I come back in another 3 months to get tested one more time. Is there any way the WB could have missed the infection?
Hey Doc, I did an ELISA test after day 11 of a potential risk exposure to HIV. Vaginal Sex. The test result came on non-reactive. How reliable is the ELISA test result after day 11th of exposure. It has been 42 days since my result came out. I do not seem to be suffering from flu like symptoms except for the allergic rhinitis which i get every morning or sore throat or even fever. Shall i get a second test done or is day 11th post exposure elisa test results is good enough? Kindly advise.
