Avatar f tn My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !
Avatar n tn My elisa test is always positive for hcv but my qualitative test is negative..my question is that how can I turn my elisa test to negative? ??antibodies are harmful for me??how can I remove hcv antibodies from my blood???please suggest me any medicine??I hope that you all will give me good advice..
Avatar n tn This is true if even if they have cleared the Hepatitis C virus. A reactive antibody test requires an additional, follow-up test to determine if a person is currently infected with Hepatitis C http://www.cdc.gov/knowmorehepatitis/LearnMore.htm But pcr-rt (quantitative) is negative.am I infected with hcv? No Is it possible for someone to become infected with HCV and then spontaneously clear the infection? Yes.
Avatar n tn hello, my name is umar , as per my hepatitis C screening test elisa ( anti bodies) is positive and the ratio is 17.00 cut of ratio is 1 but in my HCV PCR ( RNA ) test is negative, please explain what is do?
1350500 tn?1277518068 Which test should I opt for confirmatory detection of antibodies for Hepatitis C, if the screening test (ELISA) for antibody IgG detection comes out to be positive?
Avatar f tn For instance, when the ELISA test is negative, you can feel very confident that you are hepatitis C free. However, if the ELISA test is positive, there is a small possibility that the result could be incorrect. This is called a "false-positive" result. False-positives are most likely considered in people who lack the risk factors for hepatitis C.
Avatar m tn recently i received my elisa test report.which was indicating cut of value of 12. is this test confirmed that i am hcv victim. and is this value is something to worry about.

Avatar n tn I can't understand your msg.
Avatar m tn I just got a non-reactive result(with reference interval non-reactive) from LAB CORP Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Antibody Verification test. Does anyone know whether above Hepatitis C test is equivalent or substitute of former RIBA test which is not used anymore?
Avatar m tn The Eliza test does not give you any information about how harmful or serious your hepatitis C is. That test only tells you if you have the antibodies to hep C. Your other laboratory studies and perhaps a biopsy, gives the information about how serious your disease.
Avatar n tn i was tested hiv-ab western blot and it was found to be indterminate then i was Hiv 2 EIA non-reactive, Hiv 2 immunobolt and it too was non-reactive. I was then tested for hepatitis B and C it was non-reactive also? Please someone tell me what is going on. I was tested in Oct.06 and was negative and after that have not had unprotected sex.
20894959 tn?1583682547 You did not specify exactly which blood tests were performed. The initial screening test for hepatitis C is usually the ELISA screen, but more than 1 in 5 people who test positive do not actually have hepatitis C. Antibodies picked up by the test may have been triggered by infection other than hepatitis C (cross-reactivity phenomenon). People who have recovered from hepatitis C on their own may also get a false-positive ELISA test result.
Avatar n tn There are many different ELISA tests, so doctors must use one specifically for hepatitis C. The ELISA test will search the blood sample for the hepatitis C antibody. If any are found, this means that you might have HCV infection.
Avatar m tn I just want to know if Anti HCV Elisa test is sufficient to ensure Hep C Infection....
Avatar m tn like ANTI HCV (ELISA) ,ANTI HBcAG IGM and ANTI HBcAG IGM (ELISA)....and all kinds of other blood test EXCEPT HIV test....all the other tests came negative......my Hepatitis got cured...after a month...but after getting cured ...now I have dry cough for almost 2-3 weeks now and lots of chest pain and fatiuge.....CAN ALL THIS BE THE SYMPTOMS OF HIV?....AS I NEVER UNDERGONE ANY HIV ELISA TEST...WAT ARE THE CHANCE OF BEING HIV INFECTED??
