Avatar f tn My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !
Avatar n tn Are these results conclusive for being negative for HIV or do I need to get another ELISA again on 90 days post? The odds I've figured for myself are about 1/20,000,000,000 which makes me feel pretty good (using 3% incidence which is probably very high in the first place). I've also read that the difference between 82 and 90 days is irrelevant. However, it's just one of those things where a very slight possibility still seems uncomfortable.

Avatar n tn 9 months ago she had no signs of Antibody for Hepatitis C but now it is positive. She was sent to have RIBA test but in ElISA test ,which was taken 2 times, the anti bodies were high! showing of virus activities in her body. As she works in a sensitive area and all the kids always have tests before having any treatment in cell transplantation and none of the patience has this disease, how can she infected by this disease!?
Avatar m tn do standard, 3rd generation ELISA tests for HIV 1/2 pick up ALL strains of group O? I have heard different opinions, some people thinking that it would, and some people suggesting not. I have read that this test would detect MOST group O infections, but may miss some. I know the genetic makeup of group O is different than group M. So please offer your expert opinion, do I need a more specific test designed to specifically detect group O to completely rule it out? Maybe PCR?
Avatar m tn HBsAg (Elisa) Sample OD Cut off OD 2.798 0.
Avatar n tn My elisa test is always positive for hcv but my qualitative test is negative..my question is that how can I turn my elisa test to negative? ??antibodies are harmful for me??how can I remove hcv antibodies from my blood???please suggest me any medicine??I hope that you all will give me good advice..
Avatar m tn ve been vaccinated in the past for hepatitis B, but the immunity is no longer present in the test. The guidance from the CDC suggests that you don't need revaccination, but some people chose to do it anyway. My opinion is that you don't have HSV 2.
Avatar n tn If you test positive for hepatitis C and don't have a viral load (HCV RNA PCR test) is "negative" then you don't have hepatitis C. As"Flyinglynn"said above. Otherwise, you can test positive for hepatitis C and not have the virus. You only have the antibodies in your system. Results- you have nothing to worry about. You don't have "chronic Hepatitis C.
20894959 tn?1583682547 You did not specify exactly which blood tests were performed. The initial screening test for hepatitis C is usually the ELISA screen, but more than 1 in 5 people who test positive do not actually have hepatitis C. Antibodies picked up by the test may have been triggered by infection other than hepatitis C (cross-reactivity phenomenon). People who have recovered from hepatitis C on their own may also get a false-positive ELISA test result.
Avatar n tn i was tested hiv-ab western blot and it was found to be indterminate then i was Hiv 2 EIA non-reactive, Hiv 2 immunobolt and it too was non-reactive. Avatar n tn Why my doc ask me for hbsAg(Elisa)Quantitative test whats dose it mean for quantitative?
Avatar m tn Do not know whether hepatitis c virus antibody test is equivalent or substitute for riba test. Could be just another hepatitis c virus antibody test, but done with different method(eclia instead of eia). What I found interesting written on labcorp test menu website, under hepatitis c (hcv) antibody verification is the following: " Use.Since 90% of commercial intraveneous immunoglobulins test positive for hepatitis C antibody, an artifactual positive can result briefly after transfusion.
Avatar n tn 1, you’ll want to request a “HCV RNA by PCR test. The antibody test only checks for possible exposure; the PCR test will tell you if actual virus is present.
Avatar f tn my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
