Avatar m tn What is the cost of 4th generation hiv elisa test for antibodies in srl diagnostics..
Avatar m tn Now I know PCR is not for screening and diagnosing due to high cost , technical problems, and high rate of false positives. I took this test since it was too early for an ELISA test alone. But if this test has high sensibility (no false negative) and a good specificity (some false positive) my negative result after 15 days should be quite good or not ? Can i take this results as conclusive ?
Avatar m tn i think a 3rd generation elisa test or a 4th generation combo test will be sufficient.....anyway i m going to give samples at three places simultaneously..........i want to get over it as soon as possible.......
Avatar m tn 02) and a (LabCorp ELISA) high positive HSV-1 (28.1) I tried to get a Western Blot test. My local Quest does not offer that option, but they referred me to LabCorp with the following test number: 138487 I proceeded to get a request from my GP and blood samples were taken. I am now waiting for results. Experts: Could you please confirm that this is actually the Western Blot?
Avatar n tn It is also our policy that every person who requests a HIV PCR test also have a standard HIV Elisa test at the same time at no additional cost to you. The standard AIDS test is an Elisa test, which tests for the antibodies your body makes for the AIDS virus. This test is the standard test used by hospitals and blood banks in America and the world. Positive tests are confirmed with a second test called the Western blot, which also analyzes the body's antibody response.
Avatar m tn I plan to test after 30 days in Munich/Germany. Do you think the rapid test (!) will be about 90% reliable as your guess for the normal ELISA test? My calculation with a negative result would be: 1:10,000 chance of infection from infected partner, 1:10 she is infected (that is worst case scenario, I know), 1:10 reliability of test: is 1/1,000.000. That would be negligible and I really could move on. Is my calculation correct?
Avatar m tn I have a question regarding testing: I got my results back today from LabCorp. It was the Trinity Captia ELISA IGG test for both 1 & 2. Both results were negative at 11.2 weeks post exposure. I also had this test done at 8.5 weeks, negative for both. What is everyone's view of this test and it's accuracy and it's likelihood to change at 16 weeks? Thanks for your help.
Avatar m tn 00 H) I am wondering because both test together cost $49.00 and from research the HerpeSelect test cost AT LEAST $100. I am wondering did I get a cheap test for the panel and should consider getting a better test.

Avatar m tn 5 months after my exposure. i dont know the generation of that test. but the nurse told it is elisa test. but there ia no any reading on the result sheet instead it was written Negative. Is it elisa test? can i belive on it?
Avatar f tn All tests are done confidentially. Most people use an ELISA test...cost...you will have to find that out where you are. If you have INS then go to your Dr and request a test and INS will cover it, if not try to find some free clinics.
Avatar m tn Dear sir my hbsag is postive but pcr is nagative My elisa hbsag value is 3334.9 how to nagative my hbsag test.
Avatar n tn First of all, you were not exposed to risk. If your condom remain intact throughout, you are OK. Just forget about oral,,,, receiving oral by men, has nothing to do with HIV,, Period. In such situation, you do not need any kind of testing. Remember ! PCR test for HIV viral load is not a primary diagnosis tool and it is ordered for monitoring of people already contracted the virus. High rate of "false positive" is the key disadvantage of the test in addition to high cost.
523927 tn?1257018704 So does anyone ever prove positive with the ELISA test? It seems everyone is against it. I see a rheumy on Tuesday and just want to know how to handle telling her I want to be tested for Lyme disease. I see that Igenex is highly recommended but does insurance cover it? Bluecross Blueshield for me. What if the doc has never heard of Igenex? I live in Colorado where few cases have been reported, so I'm probably going to end up with a non-LLMD no matter what.
Avatar m tn I phoned up this HIV testing place today and they offer an antibody test at 4 weeks which is 96% accurate they said. Is this true now that you dont have to wait 3 months then for an antibody test?
Avatar f tn Dec 18th had PROTECTED vaginal sex, but uUNPROTECTED oral sex. I had a ELISA blood test done on DEC 28th and a Rapid Advance. Both were negative. I had another rapid advance done on Jan 16th. also negative. I am literally making myself crazy over this. I looked into the DNA by PCR test. The said if you get a negative test result 28 days Post exposure it is CONFERMED NEGATIVE.. They also run a ELISA antibody at the same time. If both come back negative, they say your negative.
Avatar m tn If your symptoms were due to ARS in all probability your ELISA would have been positive. When you factor in the negative ELISA with the negative RNA test, it is exceedingly unlikely that you caught HIV. Just have a final antibody test at 3 months for a conclusive result- expect another negative.
Avatar m tn ohh ok.thank you.so elfa test is elisa test and antigen test combined.right?
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
Avatar m tn My 6 months post-exposure is approaching tomorrow and I have set up an appointment to be tested one last time. I have received negative results at 9.5 (elisa), 14.5 (elisa), and 19 wks (oraquick blood) post-exposure. My questions: 1) Does 24 weeks equal 6 months? 2) Will my results change?
