Avatar f tn My 1 hour glucose test levels were elevated so now I have to do the 3 hour test. My Mom had gestational diabetes with all three of her pregnancies so I figured I would probably have it also, but I'm scared! I'm reading about all the increased risks for my baby and I can't help but feel bad/guilty about it even though I know there's nothing I can do to prevent it. I'm just hoping I pass the 3 hour test and don't have to deal with it. Anybody else going through this?
1132307 tn?1357908608 I had my glucose screening at 26 weeks and it came back elevated. The doctor has now scheduled me for the 3 hour screening, which I'm not looking forward to. Has anyone had an elevated screening and then passed the longer test? I eat really well, exercise on average 4 times a week and have only gained 8 pounds so far in my pregnancy so I just don't get why my blood sugar was elevated?? I feel very down today.
Avatar f tn I failed my 3 hour glucose test and now I have to take my blood sugar 4 times a day and see a nutritionist and a perinatal specialist...haven't seen any of them since I was told I failed, but I see my nutritionist tomorrow, my OB friday and my specialist on the 19th. You definitely stay busy.
Avatar f tn Is It Bad To Not Go For Your Glucose Test ? I Took It The First Time Where You Had To sit There For An Hour .. But Then They Called Me Saying I Failed It & That I Had To Come Back To Do It Again , But Instead Of An Hour .. I Have To Sit There For 3 hours !! I'm Like Extremely Busy In The Morning & The Lab Hours Are 7-3 & They Go On Break At 12-1 .. i Work Almost Everyday At 11am Besides Wednesday & Thursdays , So I Never Actually Have Time To Sut There For Them 3 Hours ..

Avatar f tn I took my glucose test yesterday and it was the 1 hour one and my levels were elevated apparently. So now I have to go back and take the 3 hour one on Monday. Has anybody had experience with this where they failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour? I'm worried and just want to pass it.

Avatar f tn Hello again Doctor, I forgot to add that when my fasting glucose test came back elevated, my doctor checked my A1C and it was 5.6. Thank you again.
Avatar f tn So I got a call this morning saying my one hour glucose levels were elevated and I have to do a three hour test... This is my fourth and I have never had to do the three hour test before. I am really disappointed because for the last 2.5 years I have been eating whole foods, limiting sugar, and exercising a lot. This really came out of nowhere. I am hoping to pass the 3 hour test.
Avatar f tn Glucose screening is usually done between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I had another onr done in mid march and the glucose level was elevated over normal and the rest of the numbers were elevated and barely in normal range. Is it normal for levels to vary that much in three months ?
Avatar n tn I recently did a glucose fasting test. The test states that normal is 70 - 100 mmg/dL. My result is 128. The test also found that I have a "slight" bladder infection that I was prescribed an antibotic for. It must be slight, as I have no discomfort at all. I am taking the antibotic now. My question is: could the infection effect the number 128? How do I lower the glucose number? what foods effect glucose?
Avatar f tn Lean proteins (fish, chicken, etc.) nuts, or a small salad maybe. I know those aren't really breakfast friendly, LOL. Stay away from sugary items, including fruit (they have natural sugars) and starchy foods (bread, pasta, potatoes, etc.) because the body will process it into sugar. These foods can elevate your sugar levels in your blood which may cause your test results to be elevated, although some people don't fast at all and their results come back fine.
Avatar f tn Just got a call from my Dr office from doing my glucose test and my sugars were elevated. Never had that with either of my other kids. now I have to do the three hour test on Monday. I don't really get what elevated sugar means??? And have any of u had elevated sugar with the one hour test and then had normal sugar on the 3 hour Yeah and was everything normal and fine.
Avatar n tn I am 29 weeks with baby boy #2 and my glucose test came back elevated so next week I will be going in for a 3 hour lab testing to confirm if I have gestational diabetes.. I did not have this or any other issues with my first pregnancy so I'm freaked out! Any have Gestational Diabetes??
1084115 tn?1385228589 Can you purchase a home blood glucose test meter if you’re concerned? In the U.S. these can be purchased for about USD $50.00, the test strips roughly $.75 each. This would allow you to test blood glucose at your convenience.
9138366 tn?1410253633 so it says the 1hr glucose test i took yesterday was elevated and i have to take a 3hr gtt test now.why do i have to do that?
Avatar f tn Ok so 3/4 months ago doc gave me 3 hr glucose cuz the random test showed i was elevated, well 3 hr came back fine. Other day had another hr glucose done and it was elevated so theyre making me yet again do the 3hr, im almost 32 weeks. Anyone else? Just seems ridiculous to me.
Avatar n tn It can take some time for you to feel OK as your body adjusts to new glucose levels as being normal again. So if you test and find that your glucose numbers are in the ideal range (70-126) before meals but still feel crummy, you may just have to wait for your body to adjust to being normal again.
7470604 tn?1396498950 You aren't allowed to eat before you're glucose test...I had to take the three hour test and they told me I couldn't eat 9 hours prior to my appointment..
915119 tn?1341948989 I have my appointment on the 2nd of April. I will ask why. The lady who drew the blood said it was different from all the others she had done. She didn't know why they would want a "Fasting Blood Sugar" test and then a "Glucose Tolerance Test". That kind of concerned me. I just hope everything is ok.
Avatar n tn I am 30 weeks pregnant and took the 3 hour GTT last week. I was told by my doctor's nurse that I "passed with flying colors", in addition to the nurse at the hospital where I took the test telling me I passed. When I saw my OB this week, he said he wanted me to see a dietician and follow a gestational diabetes diet anyway. His reasoning is that I was on "the high end of normal" for my fasting glucose. Apparently, they want it at 95 or lower and mine was 98.
1372516 tn?1297265962 My glucose test came back high now i have to go for the 3 hour test on Wensday :(
Avatar f tn My doctor called and told me my 1 hour glucose test came back elevated and I have to come back to do the 3 hour test. Has anyone failed the 1 hour test but passed the 3 hour test.
