591470 tn?1218975186 Besides genetic, loss of hair is either not enough protein or not enough calories to maintain your body. If that is not the case, then see your MD and get blood work done to see if there is a decrease of any other nutrients and be treated properly. If you are not eating properly due to the dieting then suggest you consume 1500 calories daily with protein sources (meat, dairy, egg). Thank you for your question.
Avatar n tn I was thinking of starting working out again after a long time and I was wondering weather using Protein shakes could have any adverse affects on my acid reflux? If so Is there any special one i could take that would not bother my acid reflux. And btw the manuka honey is working for me better than any of the medications has ever done. Thank you for your time.

360318 tn?1340393363 Nuts, though high in fat, are actually quite heart healthy and very high in protein. Beans are another good source of protein. All animal food is high in protein, with fish being high in fat but good fat. You have a lot of choices. It's not the amount of fat that's important, since most protein foods contain fat, it's the kind of fat and the variety in the diet -- eating a lot of vegetables, for example, provides the antioxidants that help prevent fat from being a problem.
Avatar f tn I can't stand eggs when I'm pregnant. Something about them makes me sick. I have had two healthy babies so far without eating an egg every day. You just need protein so that's why people say you should eat eggs.
Avatar f tn Is their anything that you guys can recommend me something that i can give to my dog so that his hair can be longer and thick just like other breed dogs? my dog is a japanese spitz abd he is one year old...pls....help me.. thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi Maybe.....I still think it's her food......You need to cut All Carbs (Grains) out of her food.....They are very fattening and serve NO nutritional purpose......Find her a grain-free diet (And your other dog)........Once she gets the better food, her hair should get better, too......It may take a couple of months.......I'm sending a couple of reviews for you to read......Karla This Review is from Dogfood Advisor.
4744855 tn?1358656623 Personally I would not recommend any shakes. It is best to increase protein intake through cereals, oats, lean cut of meats and egg whites. You can opt for a healthy diet and lifestyle. Exercise regularly. With time you will gain weight and a toned and fit body. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar n tn Wet foods are better than dry foods simply because of the moisture in the food, helping your cat stay UTI free. What brand of dry foods do you feed her? Egg yolk is great! I feed my cats egg yolks. Egg yolk provides B vitamin fresh from the source, and cats do need vitamins. Now, commercial foods are, as far as vitamins and minerals, balanced, so I wouldn’t really add the egg yolk because there isn’t a lack of it right now. I have to do it because I feed my cats a balanced raw diet.

20790871 tn?1507161421 I am a healthy 20 year old female. I am a former collegiate long-distance runner; I stopped running competitively a few months ago, but still run and workout regularly. I noticed that shortly after I started college (2 years ago), my hair stopped growing completely. It used to be long and thick, but over the past couple years it has become very thin and damaged and simply doesn't grow. In addition to this, I have also been getting acne on my jaw and neck-which I didn't use to get.
Avatar f tn My 7 year old is making us want to pull our hair out. He's so defiant at home and at school. He just don't want to listen to us his teachers no one. We have had a meeting with his teachers, guidance counselor, and principle but everything we try just doesn't work. We have taken away his 4-wheeler, go cart, toys, cub scouts and the computer, but he doesn't care.
1896213 tn?1321339486 my cat looses his hair on his face, on his feet and on his tale, all his wishkers has falen out, why does this happen?
793908 tn?1294705109 I did so much research and seems there are varying opinions on what to feed and protein in diets. Most say must be a high quality protein and phosphorus is a big thing. Now my 15 year old Honey's kidney values are elevated with BUN of 63, creatinine of 1.8 and protein in urine. I just set down and cried. This a horrible disease and to make matters worse she has chronic pancreatitis and has always been a picky eater.....
10754959 tn?1412551691 When Darbie ( female, black lab-mix/10yrs old ) switched to a CKD diet, she was RAVENOUS. Low in protein, her legs got weak. She could not understand why her legs were giving out from under her. Tony provides great articles re: quality protein. I do my best to keep Darbie on a routine. Besides encourging fluids, I slip bits of "protein" between meals. I feel it satiates her hunger. As Charlene said, I watch Darbie eat, I keep a diary re: weight.
703362 tn?1427766328 A large egg contains 6 grams of protein, 4.5 grams of fat (1.5 of which is saturated fat) and 212 milligrams of cholesterol and it supplies 78 calories. By nature an egg is protein rich, low in sodium and contains vitamins and minerals. Eggs contain biotin, a B vitamin; calcium and cephalin. Egg yolk is one of the few foods that contain vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin. In addition, eggs are inexpensive, delicious and easy to prepare.
Avatar f tn Well, I've searched a lot and all I've found is that L-arginine can make herpes (HSV) replicate and get worse. But I haven't found a study saying that it could be the same with HPV. I bought a protein supplement of egg protein and I've read that it has lysine and lutein which seems to have a good effect in the clearance of HPV, but it also has L-Arginine and there are mixed opinions about it... Anyone has tried it with success? Btw...
Avatar n tn s shampoo and it dint help. I put egg white on my hair and some of the greasiness went and some still remained. then i decided to try one last thing and then give up. I used henna mixed with beetroot juice and black tea. I used to use this earlier to color my hair. i thought i could help this time because henna dries your hair. I put it on, left it for 4-5 hours. washed it with water alone and no shampoo. After i dried my hair with fingers crossed, to my surprise the grease was completely gone!
1978102 tn?1334243767 I'm sorry, but it is not a good idea to go on a diet with such a limited list of foods. Tuna is fine a couple of times a week if it is free of mercury, etc. Sardines would be a better choice since they don't have the mercury risk. But you want to vary your protein. For breakfast, consider an egg or two egg whites scrambled with some leftover vegetables and maybe some Go Veggie cheese topped with some salsa. I had that thi morning.
172023 tn?1334672284 Here are some of my favorite, easy breakfasts. Each provides a good balance of healthy carbs, fats, protein, and fiber. Don't skip breakfast! There's no excuse if you keep the ingredients on hand, and get up a couple minutes early. 1. 1 cup fat free cottage cheese with 1/2 cup diced fruit of choice. 2. 1/2 cup oatmeal made with 3/4 cup skim milk, 1 small cubed apple and 5 chopped nut pieces mixed in. 3. 1 cup shredded wheat cereal with 1/2-3/4 cup skim milk, sliced banana 4.
