360318 tn?1340393363 Nuts, though high in fat, are actually quite heart healthy and very high in protein. Beans are another good source of protein. All animal food is high in protein, with fish being high in fat but good fat. You have a lot of choices. It's not the amount of fat that's important, since most protein foods contain fat, it's the kind of fat and the variety in the diet -- eating a lot of vegetables, for example, provides the antioxidants that help prevent fat from being a problem.
916516 tn?1245885188 I eat the 2 egg white and one egg and make a egg sandwich each morning w/ cheese one one slice of protein bread. Love it!
Avatar f tn I can't stand eggs when I'm pregnant. Something about them makes me sick. I have had two healthy babies so far without eating an egg every day. You just need protein so that's why people say you should eat eggs.
4744855 tn?1358656623 Personally I would not recommend any shakes. It is best to increase protein intake through cereals, oats, lean cut of meats and egg whites. You can opt for a healthy diet and lifestyle. Exercise regularly. With time you will gain weight and a toned and fit body. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.

Avatar f tn Never heard that.
10754959 tn?1412551691 Ginger has always loved scrambled eggs. Would the yolk be too much protein? if so, is it feasible to use the egg substitutes that are made with just egg whites? What's considered "a small amount" of chicken?
Avatar f tn Well, I've searched a lot and all I've found is that L-arginine can make herpes (HSV) replicate and get worse. But I haven't found a study saying that it could be the same with HPV. I bought a protein supplement of egg protein and I've read that it has lysine and lutein which seems to have a good effect in the clearance of HPV, but it also has L-Arginine and there are mixed opinions about it... Anyone has tried it with success? Btw...
Avatar f tn Egg whites, egg white omelets, carbmaster (similar to yogurt) from Krogers
703362 tn?1427766328 A large egg contains 6 grams of protein, 4.5 grams of fat (1.5 of which is saturated fat) and 212 milligrams of cholesterol and it supplies 78 calories. By nature an egg is protein rich, low in sodium and contains vitamins and minerals. Eggs contain biotin, a B vitamin; calcium and cephalin. Egg yolk is one of the few foods that contain vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin. In addition, eggs are inexpensive, delicious and easy to prepare.
172023 tn?1334672284 Multigrain Eng muffin with 1/2 cup scrambled egg beaters (made into a sandwich) 5. Smoothie: mix 1 cup skim milk with 1 banana and 1/3 cup fat free vanilla yogurt. Add a packet of splenda if you must. I often add a scoop of protein powder to this.
Avatar n tn When your body is first exposed to the herpes virus, it responds by attacking the virus with antibodies (a type of protein that is made by your body to fight a virus). Specific immune cells and antibodies now present in your body learn how to target and keep the herpes virus in check. However, the antibodies that attack the virus during specific outbreaks do not eliminate the virus overall, which is why once genital herpes is contracted a person has it for life.
1978102 tn?1334243767 I'm sorry, but it is not a good idea to go on a diet with such a limited list of foods. Tuna is fine a couple of times a week if it is free of mercury, etc. Sardines would be a better choice since they don't have the mercury risk. But you want to vary your protein. For breakfast, consider an egg or two egg whites scrambled with some leftover vegetables and maybe some Go Veggie cheese topped with some salsa. I had that thi morning.
Avatar f tn Low carb, high protein. I have my test this week and I'm terrified to see the result.
Avatar f tn This means dropping the processed things out of your diet like chips and crackers and obviously the sugar items like cookies and such. Instead, have a piece of fruit for a snack or a hard boiled egg or protein bar. Keep your portions smaller at meal time and try to stick to lean protein, fruits and vegis. Exercise for a half hour at least 5 times a week where you get your heart rate up (where you can talk but are breathing hard). Good luck and let us know how you do!
Avatar f tn Split peas contain 16 g protein per serving, spinach has 13 and chickpeas have 8 g protein/serving. Avocados have 1 g protein per ounce. A medium peach has 2 g protein and 149 grams of dried figs have 5 g protein. I love avocado smoothies, but avocados have a lot of calories, so you have to watch that. Peaches would be okay. You can make a smoothie using soy milk, and sugar free chocolate pudding mix, but the only protein you'd get is from the soy milk.
9801256 tn?1412729114 Today i had the midwife and she said i had protein in my urine she's sending me to my gp tomorrow for further tests im 25 weeks pregnant what does it mean when you have protein in you're urine? I read that it could be early stages of pre clampsina or diabetes?
Avatar f tn Two common categories of insulinogenic foods are (1) simple carbohydrates (the white stuff like flour, rice, pasta, sugar, potatoes, crackers, bread, etc and (2) low fat protein (like chicken breast, egg whites, milk whey protein, etc). If you eat high proportion of food in your meals from either (1) and/or (2), you will induce high levels of secretion of insulin into your blood, making them cycle up and then plummet low.
