Common Questions and Answers about Effexor yahoo answers

effexor

I guess I should have done a little more research on BRAIN ZAPS and eye ball sensations too... this guy on yahoo answers nailed it.... Heres what he said on yahoo answers on "what do brain zaps feel like?" "I had brain zaps for 6 months after stopping effexor (antidepressent). Drove me mad - was almost painful at times cause the more i moved my "eyeballs" - looking around - the worse the brain zaps. Sometimes I still get them when I am really worn out.
I posted all of that yesterday in <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>yahoo</span> Answers. Last nite when I got home, I took an effexor (I still have 4 left). Today, I feel as equally bad as I've been feeling (panicky, anxious, fluttering stomach, fast heartbeat, etc)...I can feel panic attacks coming on, but it is like the effexor is blocking them from FULLY coming. New symptoms today, my hands have not stopped shaking since I woke up this morning..even during the few times I have felt calm today.
As well, I don't think the venlafaxine (<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>effexor</span>) is contributing to your symptoms, but it just might be, depending on your dosage. If you are taking a dose above 225mg daily, it may or may not be a factor, since this particular medication is given in doses as low as 75mg and as high as 375mg or higher, and the higher the dose, the higher the potential for side effects, some knows, others unknown. I wish I could be of more help to you, but my knowledge of PD is somewhat limited.
I don't want to split hairs over the diagnosis, and I realize that the most important thing is that the mood stabilizer strategy works, but I still need answers. So did <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>effexor</span> cause my hypomania/ mixed state, or did it just bring to light an underlying bipolar disorder? What came first, the chicken or the egg? I realize that this is probably a controversy in the psychiatric community.

I don't have answers to all your questions but will offer what I know. My husband is getting ready to start his third try at treatment. The first was a clinical trial and he had no antidepressant and it was a horrible experience. The second time he used daily iIfergen shots and took Celexa and it was bearable for him and our family. This time we started Celexa a month ahead and for about 5 days I gave him a half a pill and then went up to a whole.
SCARY Then I searched my record online, on net to find I had also visited various sites and played various online <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>yahoo</span>! games. I checked my <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>yahoo</span>! game record only to discover I had played poorly AND had no recollection of the games. This came on top of an e-mail from a relative which I had opened last night stating he had Hypotension/glycemia (sp). I evidently did a hypotension search and decided he (the relative) had Diabetes. I, thank God, only sent this one e-mail in this blackout.
I agree with you - keep searching for some answers. Modafinil (Provigil) can be a tremendous help to keep functioning. It may not have you doing handsprings, but perhaps it can help see you through this difficulty. God bless!
I hesitate to say too much about the actual pellets because for simply talking about them and how they improved the quality of my life, I have been banned from several websites dealing with menopause and my post about them was removed from <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>yahoo</span> Answers. I really believe the big pharma / FDA are behind these health websites. The only question about the pellets on yahoo Answers has an answer that says to stay away from them.
you need to believe that there is a way out, so don't despair young man! I searched for 'resperidone and impotence' on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>yahoo</span>. It is not listed as a side effect on all of them on all of them, but I was sure that it would have that side effect. I know a young man who was on effexor and he had the same problem. He had to resort to taking Cialis daily. Now he is off the AD's and has no problem anymore.
find out if there really is an underlying medical condition or if it may just be a strong manifestation. I believe you will find the answers you need this year one way or another.
feel free to email me -Jen ***@**** by the way I tried your <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>yahoo</span> email address and it didn't seem to work. Do you have <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>yahoo</span> messenger?
I saw my doctor yesterday since I was having very bad insomnia (and a couple panic attacks) since I stopped my anxiolytics 2 weeks ago. She gave me anti-d's (<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>effexor</span>) to treat my anxiety and nervousness. I started this morning. This is supposed to take approx 3 weeks to gain its full effect. I can't wait! I did not want to take anti-d's but since my energy did not seem to come back (I'm realy energetic normally) and my anxiety was back, I didn't have any choice.
So you won't need the <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>effexor</span> now! See you are on week 21 or whatever-you gonna do the whole 48? My last pcr at six weeks was 29-I thought it just meant 29,are you suggesting it's indicative of a certain level on the threshold of detectibilty? Anyway you should be free of active virus as the vertex will have starved it to death during the first onslaught. Thanks for the update.
The CEO quote came from <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>yahoo</span> finance and I can no longer find the link. I will look tomorrow and see if I can find it somewhere else. Susan/Hawk: I do think there is an obligation to stick to the rules. My question is has Vertex abrogated the agreement by posting interim results that help them without regard to the stress that the disclosure places on people in the trial? My belief is that they now have the obligation to lift the blind for all arms at 24 weeks.
<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>effexor</span> is evil. I was using it after the loss of my sister and my uterus. I went off <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>effexor</span> and went on Topomax and I've lost 30 lbs. I lost my appetite at first (good riddance) and had a minimal amount of tingling in my fingertips, but this stuff has been great. The headaches have improved and I can't wait until the FDA officially approves it for weight loss. So what if the soda tastes bad. Who needs it.
Hello April2, What a difficult time you have had. I think you did the best you could at the time...don't beat yourself up. I'am at a loss for answers on this one. I feel you need support now too. If you have read any of my posts you will see I'am anti-drugs. I feel that medication just covers up the persons problems. What I think is needed would be to council with a doctor and have your daughter express her feelings/thoughts,etc.. I wouldn't allow medication to be used.
Hello, Much in the same here, I have had these pains for about 2 months now. It started off with walking pnumonia and then went to a serious sinus infection and now I have the sinus infection along with an ear infection that was and still is unnoticeable. I have had bad anxiety for the past 3 months that started with my job and has moved to my health as every little thing seems to make me think I am dying.
i may have taken paxel briefly , i don't remember , i went through a few until me and my docter settled on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>effexor</span>. i was on it for several months and went off it for over a year , but then opted to go back on it. and i did , for two years. until one night i started having the worst symtoms, cold sweats, heart palpitations, and the worst nervious anxiety i've ever known. i immiedatly started to wean myself off of it. it took a few months.
Thanks for the info about <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>effexor</span>. I've been on Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac and Ativan with no good results other than "I want off this ****". So far I've only had a slight tiredness and sometimes a feeling of falling(roller coaster type). I realize that this kind of med takes weeks to begin it's magic so I am being patient as I was with all the other stuff that I've tried. you are the only person other than my doctor that I know of that has any experience with effexor.
I feel like all i've done this last month is hope for the best and expect the worst...i'm just tired. Thanks for your support, prayers, answers and just being there for me! I appreciate it!!!!!!!
It is a rare disease which is being researched with very little money at yale. The EM group at <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>yahoo</span> gave and raised if I'm saying this right, 25,000.00. for 20 researchers and the man from China which found the mutated gene He will be there for 2 years.. Please do your homework, read, read, read, then print it out and take it to your doctors. Some one has to pick this information up and pass it along.. I wish I could have duplicated my firsts post.
I also feel like you do. I have been "normal" all my life until I turned 30 then it all hit me at once. I now suffer from anxiety, panic disorder...a little bit of depression and I believe that I am partially a hypocondriact. I am constantly going to the doctor, urgent care and ER to find out that "there's nothing wrong with me" and to "go home". I'm looking for answers and not getting any. I feel Strange all day long, everyday for some time now.
ill find myself going on google trying to find answers that only make me feel worse. i was taking sertraline (zoloft) and didnt find it effective. i stopped taking it and now im trying to shake the last bit of this anxiety stuff off. meds can be good if you are in really deep anxiety though, only use them temproarily (or at least thats what i say) until you can conquer these panic attacks. having scientific reassurance helps a lot.
