you may do great with effexor, some people do. i took it for 5 years and it made me even more tired and i had alot of side effects from it. everyone is different though. you'll probably get more comments from people who have taken effexor. take care.

Since I started effexor, my fatigue has greatly increaed. I am really tired, just washed out, and stay in bed until 10 or 11 each morning. Is fatigue a side effect of effexor? Colud my fatigue be related to something else?

Yes that is why we are switching. It's more for the pain from fibromyalgia. It just happens you can't take Effexor with it and I am worried about the Effexor withdrawals after the percocet and Lyrica withdrawals. I don't know if I have another withdrawal left in me. I haven't felt well in months and the Lyrica withdrawals really kicked my a s s. So here's hoping they aren't too bad. I swear I may have a baby after all of this pain lmao.

i am going cold turkey with effexor, but having nightmares .feel like i have been working really hard and am so tired but cant sleep properly because of these horrible nighmares. i am so tired.

yesterday i decided to switch back to my reg effexor xr, and my head was clear, i didnt have that heavy tired feeling in my head....i got so much done yesterday i havent felt likethat in so long....today its back to that heavy tired feeling, i was so excited about that feeling yesterday........ how upsetting.....i want that feeling back....does anyone have any suggestions??

Now my problem is the dr doesnt return my calls, ive lost my job due to this medicine mess and have no money or insurance. I found a website that says how to taper off the effexor xr pills, by switching to effexor tablets just taking it 12 hours apart and reduciong the pill by 10% a month. So since ive been off the pills for so long I am not sure if i should go back to taking the effexor xr 37.5 pill or just go with the tablet and at how much should i take it. Yesterday I started at 12.

What does everyone think about Effexor. I have been suffering from depression and anxiety. I have no energy at all. I have been taking zoloft for 2 weeks but it is making me tired and haven't seen any change at all. I was thinking about switching to effexor xr. Is this a good choice.

I am currently taking 75mg of Effexor XR at bedtime. It makes me SO tired during the day I can hardly be productive in anyway. I have read that Effexor ONLY acts as an SNRI at 150mg's and above. Anything below- Effexor is just an SSRI. I got had to get off of Zoloft because of how tired it made me. Is it possible that by talking with my doctor to increase my does to 150 mg; would the tiredness decrease?

i have never taken wellbutrin but my daughter does, i have taken effexor. for me the effexor was terrible, but some people on this site do very well with it. it made me extremly tired, heart palpitations, raised my blood pressure, jaw pain and many other problems. my daughter says the wellbutrin helps her depression but makes her anxiety worse so if you have anxiety you may have to take something for that on top of the wellbutrin. in my opinion, effexor is horrible, i hated it.

5 mg of the effexor for 5 days and no more effexor just wellbutrin. I am feeling tired, nausea and headaches I asume due to no effexor. Should I have been prescribed the effexor diffrently?

Hi, I was put on generic form of Effexor, but when I saw a second doctor, he asked why I had been changed from Effexor to the generic form (forget its name). I said the doctor I usually see had put me on it, and I presumed it was cheaper. This 2nd doctor looked it up, and said there was little difference in the cost, and would I like to go back on Effexor XL? I said yes. That was a year ago, and I am still on 150mg Effexor XL. Ive tried , effexor, lexapro, paxil, wellbutrin, zoloft. Didnt find any benifits, from any of except , paxil, i liked but the fatigue and sleepyness was unbearable that never seemed to go away after a few mnths 3 mnths i stoped. Im currently about to try doxepin, but heard that this is another one that makes u very sleepy. But is it possible that this can go away? I willing to gut it out for a few weeks.

hi do u think that the prozac (snri) may not help or even not work as it's an snri and not a ssri like the effexor. what is the best ssri to have a try if the effexor didn't work for me. why would my doctor swtich me from an ssri to an snri if he knows it may not help with my anxiety. iv never been depressed just had a panic attack in 2008 which caused me to have sleep problems.and thats when i was put on an anti depressant which sum people think they shouldn't have done.

This time I made the decision to not take the new med cymbalta that he had given me to take in place of effexor.
