214901 tn?1227567555 Has anyone one here experience night terrors with their thyroid condition? About 1.5 years ago when my thyroid got really bad about 1-2x a month i would wake up in the middle of the night and be half awake half asleep and start screaming and crying and have no idea what was going on, my boyfriend would have to hold me for 2-5 minutes, then I would be like " i have to pee", or "I need a drink" then I would go back to bed. I had little memory of it the next day.
662361 tn?1225334507 ve suffered pretty awful side-effects (Lucid nightmares and full-blown night terrors, cold sweats, worsening of the depression, suicidal thoughts that I'd not had prior to the meds, restless/agitation/panic/anxiety feelings, heart palpitations, the list goes on and on.) It is for this reason that I am seeking a homeopathic approach to my condition at this time.
Avatar m tn Has his fever gone down how does he seem in himself could he have any tummy pain ? There is such a thing as night terrors ,does he sleep in his own room or is another child sharing, any TV in the room may be on before he goes to sleep. Try having soothing stories and music before bed, no loud or stimulating cartoons .

Avatar f tn i am 22 years old and have suffered from what i think are night terrors since i was 16 or 17. they have become more consistent in the past 4 years. when i experience these supposed night terrors, it usually happens when i first wake up, i see an image the moment i open my eyes and it terrifies me, my heart rate goes up and i start screaming.
Avatar f tn Did you stop the Effexor abruptly, of do a slow taper off it? Effexor is one of the most difficult of all antidepressants to stop taking without significant withdrawal, and taking another drug won't most likely help with that withdrawal because no two of these drugs work exactly the same, and these drugs are not even in the same class of drugs.
Avatar m tn I also had night terrors, auditory hallunications, heat stroke (I stopped sweating), ticks, RLS, tremors so bad I could not get a spoon to my mouth or write my name....... The doctor said they would go away, but I stopped the medication since the side effects were worse then the anxiety.
Avatar f tn Night Terrors is a parasopnia disorder which will can happening on the first three hours of sleep. When that happens people will not remember their terror when they wake up but whenever they wake up their heart ratewill be high sky. Also whenever someone is having a terror they can be crying in their sleep, swinging punches and many other just to try to defend themselves. But once again a person will not remember what he or she dream about that terrorize them in their sleep.
Avatar f tn I have a 9 year old boy who has been experiencing "night terrors" for about 4 years now. They are progressively getting worse. My husband also had these when he was young and even now will have one occassionally. When my boy starts to have one of these he starts screaming someone's name and will sit straight up in bed with his eyes open like he is fighting something and if you try to restrain him he gets more defensive.
Avatar f tn I just found out a few days ago and between my mind wrapping itself around the concept I am growing another human life and night terrors I can't sleep. Are these nightmares that seem so real and keep me from my sleep a normal part of being pregnant? ?
Avatar n tn I'm living with my boyfriend who has night terrors. The first week we slept together I saw about 3 episodes in 1 week. After that I havent seen anymore til this morning. I barely turned over and wrapped my arm around him and he paniced. Started sayin stuff like please dont hurt me and dont bite me. We are both big into vampires! But this morning he grabbed me by my throat but not a choking hard just placed his hand around my throat saying please dont bite me and I wanna quit this or that.
1385588 tn?1279720750 m snapped back into the same position. But most of my night terrors consist of waking up and even being able to hear things around smell them everything, I just cannot move. I immediately start breathing heavy to try to wake me up but this time I didn't. In fact it got to the point where I could barely breathe or swallow. I woke up for a short second but I was so exhausted I fell right back asleep and went through it again! When I finally did wake up I was soar and sweaty, my throat was dry.
303824 tn?1294871401 my cousins daughter has night terrors as well. she was told to NEVER wake the child up no matter what. and to sing a calming lullaby that the child would recognize. it works for her.
Avatar f tn thanks for the advice, It just seems whenever I feel depression and anxiety I start getting night terrors too.
Avatar f tn I woke up many of a night jumping out of bed, throwing stuff off of my night stand, I even woke up one night holding the lamp in my hand, wires ripped out of it, like I was going to hit someone with it. Many nights, I would massage my wife (which I assure you she didn't mind), but I would wake up feeling so exhausted. I hit my wife with my fist, and started having dreams of choking people, so needless to say it scared me enough to move to the couch after that.
Avatar f tn it would be better to leave him in his own room and sit in there with him . It could be night terrors although it may be a bit young, has he started it recently and have there been any changes in his life and routine ?
Avatar f tn EVERY night without fail, I wake up anywhere from 1-4 times with these horrible night terrors. I dream about the most gorish, horrific, painfully terrifying things and wake up either screaming, thrashing around until I fall out of bed, or gasping and choking for air until my current boyfriend grabs me and shakes me awake. Then I fall back asleep, and it happens again.
Avatar m tn I also did not have the urge to abuse my Adderall. However, it also made me very angry, gave me night terrors, and bad stomach pains. I would have dealt with the night terrors and stomach pains, but the anger made me lash out at my family for little things. I felt a bit out of control. Now I am back to feeling like a zombie on Lexapro, Latuda, Adderall XR, and Lorazepam. I cannot leave my couch. All I want is to enjoy listening to the radio again.
Avatar n tn Im 20 years old and I never experience a night terror. But I read alot about it and it seems pretty scary. What I wanna know is how many Night Terrors does someone need to have before it's a real problem and they need to go to the doctor to get some medicine for there night terrors? Also can anybody get a night terror or it only affects people that has a family that has a history of some type of sleeping disorder?
Avatar f tn Could she not be wanting to fall asleep? Maybe night terrors. Which she has never woken up crying or screaming with them. Could her brain be manifesting a pain signal to keep her awake. This may sound way out there but we had a friend suggest it. We are going crazy here. It is every night. And we want her pain to go away but do not know what to do. Oh and the pain will not subside with medication.
513504 tn?1214171994 I had the really bad dreams/night terrors, im on effexor which has a sideeffect of vivid dreams there so unbelievably real i couldnt even describe. I dream about dreams, when i wake im not sure wats actually happened or what is a dream it takes me most of the day to figure this out sumtimes. Im so used to these bad dreams that i would no longer even consider them nightmares, and strangely now instead of being scared in my dreams i feel no fear and constantly want to fight.
Avatar f tn My 2 year old daughter had recurrent ear infections, colds and seemingly allergy problems. Snoring was a problem and she didn't sleep well. After 7 ear infections in less than a year we opted to have ear tubes put in and adenoids removed. The operation went well & the doctors said she did not get upset or have any problems with taking the anesthesia. Afterward, she did wake up scared and crying a lot (as I'm sure is common).
