Effexor ir

Common Questions and Answers about Effexor ir

effexor

This is a catch 22 though, since HCV causes IR and once you clear the HCV you probably will not be IR anymore. Maybe Co will maybe chime in on this and explain better. If you did decide to treat again now with soc and your IR under control you might be RVR. If not RVR or at least cEVR I would stop tx and wait for the PI drugs added to soc.
5mg Xr for a few weeks. Asked if I should split IR in two doses like we did when I first started Effexor and said she didn't know, then-didn't matter, then- just take the 12.5 IR w/ 37.5 XR together in a.m. I need another perspective. What might be best options for avoiding or dealing w/ the worst withdrawl symptoms? Have Xanax to help if needed. Will work w/ dr.
But initially Effexor 75 mg was in immediate release form (IR). You may want to discuss with your psychiatrist in switching you to Effexor 75mg specify Immediate release as it also comes in extended release, 2x /day. Hopefully with this strategy, you would experience less sweating in the evening hours.
The anger and paranoia are part of the withdrawal, when I went off of it I ended up in E.R. three times due to dehydration, was angry and struggled with resentments and thoughts that I knew couldn't be mine but I kept having them. It was like I'd lost my ability to manage my own thoughts ir control them.
I am currently on 75mg of Effexor Xr and would like to taper down to 37.5mg. History: I am now 45yrs old, but in July 2004 at the suggestion of my therapist I'd been seeing for 3 months, I saw a psychiatrist where I started my first ssri- both people said "no big deal", you'll be feeling better soon. Well, one thing quickly led to another, ended up on many drugs (5 at one time for many months) and my short term sick leave turned into LT disability.
Has anyone tried the generic for of the regular effexor. My insurance is way more the effexor xr. The regular effexor has a generic.
A brief washout period of 5 days followed but withdrawal symptoms forced the introduction of Effexor XR (37.5 mg). Effexor XR was taken at the 37.5 dose for 38 days. I have anxiety within an hour of taking it that would last approx. 2-4 hours. On day 39 the dose was increased to 75 mg. That lasted for 10 days when side effects (panic attacks, extreme anxiety, nervousness and agitation, increased insomnia, no appetite) emerged. I had been taking Buspar 7.
I then had 4 cycles of Adriamycin and Cytoxin. I have now nearly completed 5 years of Arimidex, My Oncologist ir recommending that in October I change to Femara secondary to a clinical trial which has concluded that I am at some risk of the cancer still recurring. I am unsure about this as the side effects of the arimidex hot flashes, weight gain etc causing me to be on a high dose of Effexor are quite debilitating at times.
Have you ever taken Effexor? I used to be on Effexor for 2 years for anxiety problems. I went off them cold turkey during Christmas shutdown one year and felt these brain/body zaps for three weeks every time I closed my eyes. This was 3 years ago. But now when I try to stop taking oxy I get these exact same zaps from before. I never had them before in my life before I took Effexor.
What I did was taper from 40 mg Opana ER 3 times a day and three 10mg Opana IR to my lower dose of 10 mg Opana ER 3 times a day plus three 10mg Opana IR 3 times a day. My taper has taken 3 months so far. At this dose, I am considering treatment. I am a little stumped at how to get from my present dose to 5 mg Opana ER (plus three 10mg Opana IR each day). It is a super big drop. Especially because over 3 to 4 years my brain chemistry has changed so much!!
Do you take any antidepressants? I also take Effexor XR and Cymbalta which regulate my anxiety very well and has nearly fully restored my ability to sleep which I had all but lost just a few months ago. I started out taking 10mg of the immediate release Ambien, which worked well at first, and then lost it's effectiveness after a couple of months. I actually started taking the Effexor to treat depression and found that after a few days of treatment, I was sleeping like a rock.
I did not find where it was substituted for Tamoxifen. Ir would be great to get some relief, but I most certainly do not want to do anything that will not do the job (keep me from having a recurrance) I am high risk.
It SUCKED bad, anxiety (heart paliptations) were with me 24/7. I did go to my doctor, got a full physical which turned out fine. He put me on 75mg of Effexor XR which has worked quite well (I started w/ 37.5mg IR, but it didn't help as much as I needed). The anxiety has kicked back in the past couple weeks for no apparent reason (pretty much 24/7 again, this time not quite palpitations, more like constant chest pain. Not as bad as pre-medication though).
If you had a bad experience with Cymbalta and Lyrica, I am not sure you won't experience the same with the Savella (as it's much the same as Cymbalta). I had a horrible time when taking Effexor with Ultram...it almost gave me seizures. Here are the drug interactions. Be safe. http://www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.
its called zyban here and mostly used to help people to stop smoking but was originally developed as an antid. my sister has been on ir for years with no side effects.pdpc says that a med that is successful for one member of family may also suit another member, i am also a rapid cycler but with dysphoric mania so i don't always get the 'highs' although i do the 'shoppig spree' thing a lot. i try to bring the amoun of money that i need for essentials and sometimes this works.
hello gymman here been following this forum for awhile now thought it was time to comment now for 12 years suffered terribly disks in neck 5and 6 disks in back L4 5 and s1 the pain put me in terrible depression doctors wouldnt do anything until after12 years i found a good pain doctor i was put on effexor and perks and oxys after a couple of years my daily quota is about 300 mg 2 fourties every 8 hours and 2 ir 10 every6 hours will not take anyway but the way prescriptions says then wh
To me Ritalin is a fantastic antidepressant and an augment to taking other more basic antidepressants, such as SSRIs, Effexor, Cymbalta, etc. It seems to work quickly and improves your happiness profile and state of mind, makes you clearer thinking, provides more energy. My problem is there is no way that my doctor in this small town would ever consider it, so I have to order it from foreign pharmacies and it gets a bit expensive.
i am on effexor 225mg. and have been for years, my doctor added ability and once it got into my system i was worse, so i started with half a pill, it was a little better but my crying was increased from when i just took Effexor, so i took it half for a couple of months and no improvement, so i dropped it all together.
The following week I will drop it another and so on, so forth until the OxyContin is done and I'm dropping my dose on the Oxycodone 10mg IR. Ultimately my goal is to be doing 5mgs (half an Oxycodone IR) during my last week. It will take time but I just want to reduce my initial withdrawal and post w/d as much as possible.
Or are you taking just regular opana ir? I guess that would make a big difference! My md now has me take the opana extended release 10mg 3 x a day along with one percocet per opana and it is very very effective and I have L-3-L5 herniations, stenosis of the spine,6-8 bone spurrs and arthritis of the hip joint along with degenerative disc deteration and i am only 35yrs old and it is still going down hill!
Hi IR Are you the same IR that posts over on the New Addiction Forum on the EZBoard? I must have missed that your husband is on oxy for chronic pain. So am I. How is your husband doing on the oxy? Is he OK? And are you OK with it? I know it can get out of hand too easily. Just wondering.
Thank you all for your posts I wanted to give you all an Idea of what my life is like. I go to the gym 6 days a week, as a matter of fact, I have done 2 NATURAL body building contests in the last 2 yrs.
it doesn't discriminate regardless what your goal is in life, ir profession. Anti depressant, anti-inflammatory, pain meds all tend to make us drowsy, some reduces our sex drive.. To have FMS pain day in and day out is pain, I totaly sympathize....it is so unfair and not fun having alll kidns of pains, real pains, weired pain, you name it ...I have it. I hope I would also stay away from No-Dose, and energy drinks.....try pace yourself and your schedule. If you must....
The only good thing about being in withdrawal is that I feel so sick, that my brain is not focused on my back pain! I've also had to go back on Effexor to help with the pain, and the loss of the Tramadol as an antidepressant. I'm trying to be patient, while my brain and body get use to the drug changes.
Hydrocodone does the same for me,one night a few weeks ago i took 2 ambiens and didnt sleep a wink,so my doctor switched me to an equivelent of what i was taking of the hydrocodone(8 10/325mg norcos a day) now on Oxycodone IR,i only need one pill,i can sleep again,no pain,no issues.
This has been a horrible night, my husband stopped taking his antidepressants about 4-days ago, and he is really wacked-out. He was taking Effexor, and refuses to take them any longer because he feels they interfer with his um, 'manhood'! Sorry guys, but this is really making him psychotic, and it's scaring me!
In the directions for it, it says don't take L-Tyrosine with a SSRI.(serotonin reuptake inhibitor), like prozac,Effexor,paxil..any psychiatric mood elevators.... HUH??? Does that mean I should stay away from the "wellbu." until I'm done with detox??? AND.... How long do I do the recipe? I'm scared I might think its over, but its not..its happened before. So let me know ok? The point about having hot bath ready at all times is sucky...
First we tried lexapro and that gave me panic attacks after only a few days on it, then tried effexor which made me real dizzy, and so I ended up on remeron, which I will never take again because it made me constantly fatigued and gain weight (not a happy time). I want my life back....I don't feel like living it at all right now.
It has been almost 4 years now and my doctor increased my dose to 40mg 3x a day, he has offered OX IR for breakthrough pain but I find that if I take the next dose a little early works much better for extreem pain. I see the doctor every 30 days for refills. I can honestly say that I have never gone over the prescribed amount no matter what the pain level. (3 x a day) I know that 120mg a day is a lot of oxycodone but after 4 years I feel no "high" from the meds.
